like kanye said they helped each other because ppl weren’t going to the stores so they both won.those overseas sales weren’t that great 4 50 like ppl are saying he sold 80,000 or so in a coupla places kanye sold 70 something so it’s not like he’s killed kanye .ye sold more in places like tokyo and uk where hiphop is big 50 sold more in france another place that hiphop is big so it’s a pretty good battle i hope they both go diamond to tell the truth reinvigorate the industry and show that ppl still buy albums and not just ringtones

The talk about 50 winning overseas and therefore overall is bullshit.
The US is the #1 music market in the world. Kanye won it. Japan is the #2 music market in the world. Kanye won it. For English-language music sales, UK is likely #3. Kanye won that too. He won in every other English speaking country too- Canada, Australia, you name it.
Coming ahead in Europe is a booby prize. First, the margin he won by there is nowhere near enough to offset what he lost in the US, Japan, the UK and Canada.
But second, it goes to show how far behind the times Europe is with Hip-hop. A lot of those guys don’t even speak English. It took years for them to figure out Hammer was wack. They haven’t figured out Curtis isn”t hot anymore, but eventually they’ll clue in.

So actually if what hes saying is true (def jam buying shit up) then you would first have to come up with how much they were reinvesting (spending their own doe) subtract that from what he sold and then and only then do the 79% drop! Yeah that probably would be pretty shabby for the college drop out. hmmmm
