the black love there was beautiful. the people of the town were standing on their porches (6am) waving at all of the buses as we came into proximity of jena. people were riding by throwing their their fists up. most people came on buses (like me) and it seemed like there was 100′s of buses man. everybody rocking the black. old folks, kids, folks rockin grills, people with locs, chicks with the weave and wild colors, uppity looking black folks, man we represented across the board. protesting at the court house with the “hell no, we won’t go” and the “fire reed walters, free michael bell” when they were trying to get us to leave. everything was peaceful, the kids families were there speaking during the rally…shit was just all love man. but yo, how about the white folks closed down shop, locked up their stores, homes, blocked off their property and all kinda shit. there were a couple of white people out there waving at us. traffic was HELL trying to get in and out of town tho. i think the population in jena is only like 2500-3000 people and supposedly like 15,000 to 20,000 people came. does anyone know the real numbers? i havent been able to watch tv yet.
