^My experience went kinda like this. Got with an indie mag @ 19, they got the interviews lined up,.. i knocked em down. based off of that I got commissioned to write for larger magazines. During my time at the few labels I was at I got a few interviews for delf for whatever mag wanted em.. Then hit the indie scene heavy for a minute. Now im here.
UK Hip Hop… what can I say? Channel U has made all the young ‘uns Grime heads. Kano, Wiley, Dizzee are really the only UK acts who have gone overground here.
K-Lash is doing well, still king of the underground scene. I didn’t think Lionheart was quite as good as his previous material, but the press/fans loved it here. I always liked the Low Life Records crew myself, Jehst, Mystro, Rodney P, Braintax and them. Mys-diggi has a new album that just dropped that you might be interested in… it’s called Diggi Down Under. Recorded in Australia I think, but I’ve not copped it yet. Oh, and Lewis Parker’s new mixtape is fire.

I’ve always thought that Hov is capable of taking it back to the RD days, and I really thought that a ‘Concept Album’ based around this movie would give him the ‘excuse’ if you like, for rapping about the gangster shit he doesn’t do anymore, rather than keeping it “all facts”.
Based on this track, American Gangster is no Reasonable Doubt. But, we’ll have to wait and see I suppose.

^My experience went kinda like this. Got with an indie mag @ 19, they got the interviews lined up,.. i knocked em down. based off of that I got commissioned to write for larger magazines. During my time at the few labels I was at I got a few interviews for delf for whatever mag wanted em.. Then hit the indie scene heavy for a minute. Now im here.

K-Lash is doing well, still king of the underground scene. I didn’t think Lionheart was quite as good as his previous material, but the press/fans loved it here. I always liked the Low Life Records crew myself, Jehst, Mystro, Rodney P, Braintax and them. Mys-diggi has a new album that just dropped that you might be interested in… it’s called Diggi Down Under. Recorded in Australia I think, but I’ve not copped it yet. Oh, and Lewis Parker’s new mixtape is fire.

Yea but for him to drop in 2 months….nah….well unless he rushes everything but it might get push back…..I know he got joints laying around….but he gotta do the cd cover, go through copyrights which takes couple months for like 18 songs, press cds….all kinds of shit……but I don’t know…..if he wanna do that he can I guess but he would lose again unless he brings a really bangin’ 1st single and a classic album……

yeah, lyrically Hov is nicer, but sales wise they pretty much had the same first week. And waaay more promotion dollars was put into Hov’s project than Curtis and they still did the same amount.
***Ionno about that..a lot of Hov’s promo was covered by sponsors…I doubt Def Jam went too deep in its coffers to push KC….nigga was on Sportscenter, and the whole nine….co-sign Hov being nicer, though….

Not a huge Jay Z fan but got respect for the dude, if he makes a hot album regardless of sales & who he works with everyones a winner!!!
