Yo Two Times.. I gotta be honest man—-Last nite I’m at the bar, and it’s that point where they went from rap to reggae to reggaeton to techno…
…and the techno’s getting annoying…
…and then “Ayo Technology†came on–and for the first time in my life I said “Oh thank God†for a 50 Cent record getting played.
F’real tho’? People let out an “Oh!†when it came on, and the DJ spun no Kanye–ming you, it was a white people bar/club, but I gotta give you and your boss credit for the Win.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ true that shit

Rey…
lol…that’s wassup… both 50 and Kayne gonna win on Tuesday…and so is hiphop…
when 50 comments on Kayne now, you can tell it’s all friendly rivalry just based on the fact that there albums are coming on the same day, not the actual music side..
September 8th, 2007 at 1:43 pm
Thats the funny thing about the Curtis Kanye competition, you cant really compare them, the albums are for different climates. Depending on the type of climate the general public favors, especially if they request agressive content.
September 8th, 2007 at 1:43 pm
@ OnPoint– I imagine so.. Tell you what tho’, I like Straight to the Bank, Amusement Park, and Ayo Technology..
Those singles are all pretty good.. I get money and the robin thicke one? Not so much.

lets laugh at serius jones for a sec….befor he had a deal with dtp he signed with sombody for 25g….then he does the smacks and fight klubs lands a deal with dtp and signs a contract..Now months later the dude who signed him first wants 150k for him and dtp aint paying..they dont feel hes worth that…ayyyyyyyeeeeeeeee…serius is nice too but i doubt we gonna see an album from dude anytime soon(probley never)
^That’s the same thing that happened to The Game with dude he signed with (JT The Bigga Figga, from The Bay) before he was signed to Dre. Basically he did some songs under JT’s label and after he got signed and they really started pushin’ his work, JT wanted that cake back. I’m a Serius Jones fan too (I put like 3 people onto dude, just on NR alone), but he needs to be promoted NOW. Ninjas are gonna fuck around and forget who he is by the time he’s ready to drop. Either that, or they’re still workin’ out the whole she-bang on how they want him to drop (radio, club, etc).

The beats on Curtis are banging, very nicely mastered, great sonics.
That track 14 or so that sounds like a Wu Tang beat…that shit is bonkers!!

True Master? Mathematics ? 4th Discple ? … where they at … the song aint bad though … Ghost shoulda led off … then GZA 2nd … Rebel INS been drinking clorox cocktails with DMX and DOC …

lol @ OnPoint– I used those buzzwords allll over the place yesterday.. I added a third one tho’: Popular Consensus. It seemed 50-ish.
My myspace status says: “The World– Bow in the presence of Greatness is ready to unleash aggressive content on the general public tonite”
@ Two Times– Absolutely. I imagine there are certain crossover elements between the 2 audiences, but t’be honest, 50 isn’t making music for Kanye fans, and Kanye isn’t making music for 50 fans. I’d be ok with 50 taking the top spot as long as it’s not a blowout, but him winning by 50k or so? I’ll take that. Rap needs a win. Fuck Kenny Chesney.

>>>Bow in the presence of Greatness is ready to unleash aggressive content on the general public toniteâ€
^^^
LOL……… Yo Rey, I caught myself using some those words (aggresive content, general, etc) with my boys and other people….lmao!….
>>I’d be ok with 50 taking the top spot as long as it’s not a blowout, but him winning by 50k or so?
and yeah I agree
^^^
yep… they both need to do big numbers…
September 8th, 2007 at 1:55 pm
Word.. I’d be disappointed if either did less than 300k, f’real.
I’m really trying to work in that aggressive content one–it cracks me up.
I’m the one in my little group to introduce odd phrases into our lexicon, and I’m gonna push “aggressive content/general public/popular consensus” as much as I can.
I figure I’ll couple those with my general air of “Bow in the presence of greatness”-confidence I have going lately and see if I can’t get a little late summer/early fall Swag going.
September 8th, 2007 at 2:06 pm
Fuck Kenny Chesney.
^ take that back, Rey. KC got wolves. hungry, rabid ones.
September 8th, 2007 at 3:18 pm
Regardless of how much they sell they’ll both be certified platinum, 50’s album shipped 1.4 million and Kanye’s shipped 1.2 million.
So in some ways the albums can’t really flop in terms of sales. Remember Janet Jackson’s last album, it only sold like 300k and it was certified platinum on the shipments alone.
September 8th, 2007 at 3:25 pm
of course this is another advantage of being on a major, Interscope can wring the necks of Best Buy into buying a shit load of records that might not sell.
Havoc on the other hand, on an indie, gets 40 thousand shipped and is grateful as hell for it.
