    Off Mark: M.O.P. Pull Their Own St. Marxmen Album Off Shelves
    When Dame Dash and Jay-Z went their separate ways, it left several Roc-A-Fella artists in limbo, deciding whether to stay with Dame or try to make the dash over to Def Jam as Jay-Z reinstalled his empire. M.O.P. decided that the most diplomatic path was to join forces with neither, signing up instead with 50 Cent’s G-Unit Records.
    However, the Brooklyn group still had a completed album on Roc-A-Fella, still waiting to see light and the independent label, Koch, had actually released that album, St. Marxmen, on October 18th but now M.O.P. has taken the unusual move of taking the albums off the shelf, to be repackaged and re-released later in 2006 after their new album on G-Unit comes out.

    The issue here is that M.O.P. is angry that Koch has been billing St. Marxmen as a G-Unit album, when in fact, it was recorded long before the group signed to their new label. Says the group’s manager Laze,

    “They were trying to jump retail on Interscope and G-Unit, since 50 Cent has been touring the world with M.O.P., there has been a resurgence in sales and awareness of the [group]. We feel that this was wrong by Koch and though the Marxmen is a great record, it should not be viewed as the G-Unit album.”
    This isn’t exactly earth-shattering news per se, but it does show how important – and contentious – label affiliations and identifications can be. That M.O.P. would pull their own album off the racks is a dramatic move, especially given what is likely to be both added cost and lost opportunity but it seems that being forthright with their retailers and fans is more important than selling albums.     Sprewell’s yacht repossessed

    Former basketball star Latrell Sprewell, who famously rejected a $21-million contract offer three years ago, calling it insulting and saying he had a family to feed, had his 70-foot yacht repossessed Tuesday.

    Armed with an order from U.S. Magistrate Judge William E. Callahan Jr., a federal marshal seized the $1.5-million, Italian-built vessel in Manitowoc, Wisc., where it sat in storage, Milwaukee’s Journal Sentinel reported. A New York bank is claiming the yacht’s owner, a company run by Sprewell, 36, has defaulted on a mortgage loan.
    The firm, LSF Marine Holdings, hasn’t made monthly payments of $10,322 on time and hasn’t maintained the necessary insurance on the 6-year-old vessel, North Fork Bank alleges. It wants the yacht, “Milwaukee’s Best,” sold to pay off the $1.3 million it says is remaining on the loan. Sprewell has guaranteed the loan personally, a contract filed with the court shows. He could not be reached for comment on the repossession, the newspaper reported.

    Sprewell played 13 National Basketball Association seasons. He last appeared in 2004-’05 for the Minnesota Timberwolves and at the beginning of that season rejected a three-year, $21-million contract extension. In the midst of negotiations, Sprewell scoffed at the idea of playing out the season and then becoming a free agent.

    “Why would I want to help them win a title?” he said. “They’re not doing anything for me. I’m at risk. I have a lot of risk here. I got my family to feed. Anything could happen.”

     word…that’s about my household income…only one kid, though…but 1000 daycare for 4 kids is ridiculous….when my son was younger, I paid $800-1,000/mo for him alone, at a regular ass daycare- sheeit, even now, it’s around $600/mo, and that’s just after school care

     ^^ Let me ask you this…you think rappers have diffrent lviews on what is considered “I dont write”. Some sit down write a whole verse and go straight in the booth and record. Where others write a few lines or a bar down…memorize them, do that repeatedly and when they have a 16 they go in the booth and just spit. Maybe that is why most tracks are off topic in a verse…ex: Weezy
