Lil wayne would demolish all of those smack dvd ninjas, until I hear them spit a hotter verse then some of the shit I heard wayne spit, I have to agree with plug. None of them spit a harder verse then the “wezzy ambitions†freestyle, or the “cannon†song, & I was a wezzy hater when that shit came out last summer & I still had to give him his props, he killed those shits.
^Smh.
Let me finish changin’ my brakes. Brb…

^Damn, I wouldn’t of said that if I knew billz was around, lol. Billz be ready to kill a mu’fukka if you say lux is wack.
^^^
and why not… that shit with Jay & hold’n niggas CDs back is a shame… That “Come Fly With Me’…Summer of 05 or 06 was a Banger, that Shit right there should have gave her an urban/hip-hop Billboard #1 spot…. DefJam drop’d the ball with that single. NOBODY does that Yardie-hip-hop shit like Foxy.
On the real- that song sucks. And Swizz is lucky to get one in every like 10 beats to hit hard. 9/10 of his beats suck. This song is an example of one of the nine.
yea I dont see what billz fascination is with Lux, dude is average at best. Dudes like him are a dime a dozen, …If you rallying behind (pause) and M.C, atleast let it be someone refreshing bringing somthing new to the game.
^what you think Jay aint serious?, Crazy what would you do with a bad batch of Yayo. Waste time choppin and baggin packaging, only to know once word gets around that you got garbage, and shit wont move. OR Let it sit till the climate change?
If major labels like Interscope (50 Cent) and Def Jam (”Umbrella” gets spins, but Buddens is on the shelf) are not fighting for real Hip Hop and indies like Koch stay putting out bullshit by Jim Jones where he’s talking about how he cakes up/wears stonewash jeans…. where do we turn?

I agree with you Soul Clapper, it seems like it’s the record exec’s that’s really killing hip hop. The artist aren’t allowed to be creative anymore, you have to say/do the same shit over and over… Then when you do have artist that are willing to be creative, you don’t hear shit from them (Sans Kayne) or they’re not marketed well.. (c) Talib, Mos Def..
It’s a fucking shame that you have to listen to old ass cd’s from the 90’s to hear some real good music and creativity!
Am i the ONLY one sick of Swizz’s “chopped” up repetitive-ass hooks?? does that sound good?? sounds like it should be in some kind jungle-raver-glowstick-bullshit music…
the question is who or what instructs the mass public whats the hot shit right now. You can blame radio, you can blame the artist, you can blame the record companies, but the truth is the people are to blame for settling for bullshit. Now the kids are a lil different cause they know no better, but still If they were raised aware of their social enviroment then they will thirst for more social content. I’m saying Party songs is cool for the kids to have fun to, but if they where raised right they will demand balance. So dont blame def Jam for not pushing Buddens, dont blame radio for not playing Wu, dont blame the record labels for signing these 1 hit wonder ringtone acts. Blame yourselves.

Not talking about Jay, Taking about an R&B Head as HEAD of an HIP-HOP label… Head of DefJam, the label 95% of all MCs wanted to be a part of @ 1 point and time. when Camron can say he Goes over a label CEOs head to talk to HIS boss about Santana, theres a Problem. When 90% of the artist on a label are trash and you Keep bunting heads (pause) with LA Reid… theres a problem. …there was a REASON why LA was fired, and a reason why Interscope & Koch are making DefJam look like they dont matter. ….as long as LA is on power, Island/DefJam will put out bubble gum MCs & Singles to keep the lights on and flood the market with bullshit… because MOST of the money will come from R&B… and J.D. ….the shit really is LaFace 2.0.
I don’t care what no one says, Joe budden is not marketable, he had a better chance if it was around the time pump it up was out, but after the whinning, & the 427047 depressed songs he made the general public doesn’t care for him, & he can’t go pop & do records like everybody else cause that’s not him & the consumers would see right threw that shit. Joe budden would have a better chance getting a buzz playing the smack dvd battle circut, atleast the young audience would notice him & if he rips some known cat (a murder mook, lux, S jones) that would boost his buzz higher than it ever been & he’d have his hardcore Nah Right audience (all 7 of ya’ll) supporting him. Cool man, I hope the trip is a good one. You should really check out ‘Ye’s appearance calendar.. He’ll probably be in NYC promoting Graduation with MTV or Hot 97, maybe you can catch him.. that’d be pretty cool.
My birthday was really good. Lots of love, some good lovin’, and chicken wings. It’s alllll about the chicken wings.

If ppl just bought the music coz it was good then instead of tryin to create beef, ringtones and money the only way a rapper couild cake is by makin a solid album.
I gotta say the NR audience is very diverse. One day we go from doing your mamma jokes, then we ether Hootie, and now we are giving valid arguments of why the industry is falling off. I tell you guys this type of shit is so touching!

Let’s be honest though duke… How much ‘good music’ is out there now-a-days?? Not much! Unless you wanna Superman Dat Hoe, or Walk Barefoot in Da club because it’s hot!
Cosign J88 on Budden.. If he put out a Fab-esque album with bullshit and only 3 Budden-depth songs, I’d be soooo pissed, I’d quit rap and throw my Jay-Z CDs at the def jam building.
My only addendum to that is that Budden should be dropped by Def Jam and just come out on an Indy label and put out whatever he wants. If it’s the most depressing shit ever I’d still cop the first day.
Honestly tho’, he needs to go to Pete Wentz’ Decaydence records.. he can do all the angsty emo records he wants, plus Pete is boys with Hov, so that could be mutually beneficial, and expectations will be lessened.

i disagree (respectfuly)… people should have a voice and say, about all aspects of Music & business… the same way people got all pissy about Nike & asian Sweatshops… its like, i Like Airforces, but where are they made, how are they made, some people got @ Nike, and now u can go to the Nike website and get a list of EVERY factory & location where All Nike products are made. …its healthy to bring light to shit… that all.

In no other form of music does album sales = good music
Like i said before, if the Wu album comes out and its good i dont care if they sell one copy as long as its me with the copy.
If it comes out wack and sells 5.5 million, im goin to be mad

Yeah, but its fans that cosign the trash that hurts. I see why ppl like 50, i used to like him. But really the music he puts out now is total trash, and is ion no way marketed to hip hop fans. So why should i be interested in how much money he got?? Or how many business adventures he got?? What film he’s goin to be in next??

^Co-sign. I’m really not feeling the video’s coming out now & for the last 8 years, all of them been the same, with exception for like 7 threw that whole time spand. Don’t get me wrong, I love to see the girls in the video, but it get repetitive, it’s to the point now that you gotta make a video like that to get spins, I remember supahead said “If the girls left the set & said fuck that, there would be no video” & the sad thing is, she’s right. Hip Hop died when rap started using “the formula” Party song, throwing $, dancing girls = new artist video

Jason Statham to Play Action Man in ‘G.I. Joe’ Flick?
I don’t really know a whole lot about the history of the G.I. Joe toy line, but apparently there was a British equivalent to the action figure known as “Action Man,” and according to IESB.net, the producers of the (eventually) upcoming G.I. Joe movie are intent on including Action Man in the equation so as not to alienate international moviegoers who really have no freakin’ idea who “G.I. Joe” is. (That make sense?)
Well it doesn’t really have to. According to IESB, Paramount is looking at Jason Statham to play the part of the heroic Action Man — and considering that Jason Statham kicks all kinds of butt and remains ultra-cool while doing it, I’m all for his inclusion in any ol’ action flick. Word is that Stephen Sommers will be helming the project for Paramount, and that Mark Wahlberg is the (longtime) first choice to play a character known as Duke.
^
and knowing is half the battle. …and drink ur milk.
Honorable mention goes to Voltron even tho’ I didn’t like it. The concept of flying robotic lions that form a gigantic asskicker is too cool to ignore.
That shit is gonna suck (nh). I hate when good movie ideas become the new industry “trend”….next they’re gonna greenlight the script for a live-action “Smurfs” movie.
I’m proud of Nore for putting together words that make sense. He’s come a long way from “neptunes, I got a cockerspaniel” & “…and you can catch me with a teletubby holding my gat”. Don’t you agree?
Say you come home from work, open your mail box and there’s a letter that reads: Confidential Very Important on the envelope
Contents:
“I’m sorry to bother you again, but its important that I get in touch with our friend Damon. If possible have him contact me”.
then she proceeds to leave a host of contact info, phone, email, etc…
“Thank you for your help”
The reason she said sorry to bother you again is because 4 yrs ago she did the same exact thing trying to get hold of me. After I contacted her she went on to say that she was living with a guy who she expected to be her daughters’ father. They had a fall out and the guy demanded a paternity test, which they took and he was proved to not be the father, needless to say he bounced. So me and this girl used to hang and be on some cool shit. We used to get our drink on and chill things of that nature. I smashed maybe once or twice and swore I strapped up. So when she asked me if I would take a paternity test …I didn’t flinch and even offered to pay half, cause that’s the type of dude I am.
I should mention that in that four year departure from ole girl, I got married and wifey pushed out a prince. So I wasn’t sure how she would handle the news, but decided to be honest and give her the scope anyway. The test date I gotta admit I was nervous cause even though I swore I strapped, I was also sure of my inept drinking back then. Kid could very well be mine. So we take the swab test, I see the lil girl for the first time and she’s a jewel, very pretty like her moms, slight resemblance to my Jr. At that point it could of went either way and I was ready to step up as the father. Few days go by and I call the spot that did the test. The results are in, I’m not the father, long story short. Told ole girl sorry and I wish her the best and haven’t spoken to her since.
….So Nah, I am aware that my boy (ex roommate) crushed ole girl atleast once. I and he haven’t spoken in years, not due to her, but the differences in our lifestyles. Except when he got shot I did go visit him in the hospital. Anyway do I forward the information to him, not sure of what’s happening in his personal life? Or do I act like I never got the letter, and take a chance that I ruined a possible father daughter relationship?
^Like TLC said. “Releasing your greatest hits album is basically saying you retiredâ€. Is NaS dropping anymore albums?

Ex-NBA ref pleads guilty to gambling charges
Donaghy told co-conspirators what team they should bet on, judge says
The Associated Press
Updated: 11:47 a.m. ET Aug 15, 2007
NEW YORK - Former referee Tim Donaghy pleaded guilty to two felony charges Wednesday in an NBA betting scandal that rocked the league and raised questions about the integrity of games.
Donaghy faces a maximum of 25 years in prison when he is sentenced for conspiracy to engage in wire fraud and transmitting wagering information through interstate commerce.
Donaghy provided recommendations, called “picks,†to co-conspirators about what team they should bet on, said U.S. District Court Judge Carol Bagley Amon. If he was correct, they paid him.
The picks included information about games that Donaghy officiated, the government said.
The information was not public, the judge said. Donaghy had “unique access,†including what crews would officiate at games, the interaction of different officials and players, and the physical condition of certain players.
He concealed the scheme from the NBA and other referees to avoid detection, the judge said.
Donaghy also must pay a $500,000 fine and at least $30,000 in restitution.
Donaghy, who stood ramrod-straight, hands clasped in front of him, spoke in nearly inaudible tones as he told the judge that he is seeing a psychiatrist for his gambling addiction, and is taking an antidepressant and anxiety medication.
Prosecutors said in open court that Donaghy bet on games himself; but that was not a specific part of the verbal admission he made before the judge.
The two alleged co-conspirators were in the custody of federal marshals on Wednesday and were awaiting arraignment on conspiracy charges carrying a maximum penalty of 20 years.
Donaghy concealed the scheme from the NBA and other referees to avoid detection, the judge said.
The FBI first contacted the NBA on June 20 to talk about a referee alleged to be gambling on games, and the two sides met on June 21, NBA commissioner David Stern said last month. Donaghy resigned July 9 after 13 years as a referee; Stern said he would have fired him sooner but was told it might affect the investigation.
Stern blamed a “rogue, isolated criminal†for the betting scandal that threatened the credibility of every referee.
Donaghy was rated in the top tier of officials, Stern said, and there was nothing suspicious about the frequency of his foul calls. He was assigned to work in the second round of the playoffs, with his last NBA game coming during the Phoenix-San Antonio Western Conference semifinal series.

It’s a fucking shame that you have to listen to old ass cd’s from the 90’s to hear some real good music and creativity!

the question is who or what instructs the mass public whats the hot shit right now.

Also: I’m hungry.

I keep forgetting (no Michael McDonald) that Hip Hop is a business. Things have moved on from 88 or w/e, and now it’s a matter of “if you aren’t marketable, you aren’t dropping on my label” for many CEO’s. There’s still good music out there, you just have to look a little bit closer.

Question for the Nah massive
