>> nation - what you are saying, boiled down, is that it’s all about perception? White dudes support real hip hop more visibly (going to shows/copping discs), but really that’s just what we see on the surface?

it's tough to explain. i mean look, obviously, when that kind of rap was made (i'm thinking about the shit i put on my 90's post) it was for a certain audience, a certain crowd that could relate, understand and fucking jam to it. but once that blew over, and that the bling era came through... people didn't give a shit... the people who initially loved that shit started loving more popular shit like nas and whatnot, the people who liked more popular artist just continued to follow the herd.

in this day and age, when people are going to shows and supporting wu-tang, bcc, fucking LB, the roots... all hip hop heads have to say is that white people respect the rap game more than black people so show them their respect. no, that's not true. for one, there are more white people than black people in the states. secondly, if it's a popular show, in the white-populated island of noo yoke... no shit there's gonna be white folk there... but think about all the fools sitting at home, with their buddies, watching BET and downloading the top 10. there are more people doing that than going to the shows.

on the other hand, you have black people, who some of them take shit seriously like the most of us, and the rest of them who love it just as much as us, but love different shit, like that new t-pain song. now it's not that serious, but how can i take you seriously when i'm coming to you on some: yo, have you heard that new little brother? when you're cranking that ______. but i'm not mad, there are people who take it seriously, there are people who don't give a fuck and that listen to whatever is good (me) but ionno, to say white people > black people isn't fair, it's funny, but it's not true either. they used to say only white people can afford the tickets, but fuck, how much do rims cost (c)read a book/chris rock

i don't know man, just makes sense that more white people would show up to a wu concert when black people are tryna teach me the new yung joc dance at the bus stop

I try not to make hyperbolic statments but this may be the worst list ever.

The Game, T.I, and Lil' Wayne are good selections(all average mcs imo) but the rest of the people on the list are either washed up, wack, or bad mc's who have amazing production.

depends, i know skateboarders that listen to better rap than cold-hearted killers, don’t mean shit. like there are white people that listen to shit that blows that party like a rockstar shit outta the water, for sure, but you gotta think of the less intelligent population, which is about 85-90% that thinks party like a rockstar is the best song of the year, that will play football until their heads go numb (pause), that will drink till their livers break… that will say lil wayne is the best rapper ever (not alive, or at this point… wobble dee wobble dee) but will not have heard about a rakim.

ionno man, it all depends.white fans just support better, it’s been addressed. people on the internet are the only people who really know about the good rap acts, and they will never buy shit cause it’s free, that’s for sure (joe budden). but, people who go to live shows are a seperate case, because live shows can be incredible but at the same time a waste of time
