Boosie ain’t Hip Hop.
================
Fortunately, or un-fortunately (however you look at it), Boosie is Hip-Hop…
All forms of Hip-Hop from all regions and all points of view are needed to make this cipher complete. That’s the gift and the curse we call Hip-Hop.
All in all…..your opinion is respected by me……I would love for hip hop to be like it was…..when I called it mine…….but those days are done, so I have to share it with everyone(none)…….grudgingly…..
===============================================
I appreciate your opinion pmass. And everybody else too.
I’m just depressed with this music at the moment in time. Too much T.I.P, too much Lil’ Wayne, too much Boosie. Too much trap. Too many Casio keyboard beats. Not enough of that BDP spirit. The first time I heard G Rap. The first time I heard “Lookin’ at The Front Door”…. Not enough Slick Rick, not enough Public Enemy….
Not enough of that from-the-heart rebel music/culture that I was brought up with. I used to be in a b-boy crew back in the day. Came home with bruises from doing backspins (nhjic)…. my mother would smack the shit out of me because she thought I was out fighting!
Also, I watched ‘Wild Style’ at the weekend. I Listened to Long Live The Kane. Twice. Maybe I’m longing for a culture that has moved on, the way blues gave birth to rock and roll… fuck it, I’m getting misty.

I said that to say this: you cant complain about the quality of music if you arent do THAT much better. We know they better than hurricane chris, but after that who’s album where they that much better than?
…redmans was good nothing like his classics….pharohoes was though….talib’s new album is his best since ear drum…common stays releasing dope shit….the new term mixtape is better than anything i have heard on the radio in years…..i believe saigon and his over the top statements……sean price….royce….black milk…..all recently released shit a whole lot better than t.i. vs. t.i.p. but most people dont even know that…..hip-hop is dead
^ But how many of those albums did you buy? Every artist I like, I buy. If you dont support, than dont blame the artist who do get support.

^SMH, Boosie only has one album (solo) but he’s on his grind in the mixtape circuit, so I get my fix, while those lazy bums you like wait for someone to give them a deal, or start up $ to drop there album like they really deserve it just because there from NY, & got fans like yourself that fell they deserve to have a album out because there so called “nice” naw, the world doesen’t work like that, you have to earn you’re spot, boosie been out for years, as long as budden, grinding on the underground scene, he knew nothing was gonna be giving to him, he had to make people belive. I started bumping boosie in like 03-04, before the “wipe me down” before he even had a video, you know how his music reached up here? He was on his grind, he was determined, you can say what you want about his music, but he deserves everything he gets, he aint no overnight MC he put in that work, but an artist like budden, he had the work ethic, he was on alot of mixtapes starting out, but after his 1st album he slowed down, where’s MM3? exactly, stop sitting on shit & release it & he’ll prolly be relevent. Where’s papoose? he signed a major deal earlier this year, before that deal he had hella mixtapes, soon as he signed the deal he got lazy & got off his grind. Most NY/up north artist feels like they deserve something cause there “nice” but that only the tip of the iceberg, you gotta work, & these southern artist work
90% of this shit is yo biz-ness, 10% of this shit is yo talent mystical

Face facts: you have some artists out here who just get lazy when they get “that check” (industry).

….ok cause people hate when we talk about budden i’m just gonna say this one thing and thats it…..i right now on my comp. have well over 200 -300 completely different joe budden songs……budden has released like 20 different mixtapes , just cause you havent heard them all you call him lazy ?
maybe you havent seen the interviews where he said he felt he oversaturated himself in the market he put out too many mixtapes in too short of a time the peope couldnt digest it all….maybe you missed the point where he is trying to get mm3 released through an indy ( remeber you 2 before said so what just go to koch….he is trying he wants mm3 released on koch obviously hov isnt letting it happen )
you always bring up buddens work ethic when dissing him which is hilarious because real talk budden has released more music than almost anyone you can think of problem is its all floating around on mixtapes and the internet and people like you dont know about them

HHDX: The final question I have for you is on a more positive note. I just have to ask how it feels to hear Lil’ Wayne on the new Ja Rule song, “Uh Oh,†paying homage when he spits, “Call me young Raekwon, I’m a chef in hell’s kitchen
Raekwon: Yo, that’s good money right there. I’m glad he feel like that. That means that he’s recognizing my mustache. He respects my mustache, and I respect his for even saying that. I feel like when these young dudes pay homage they track record becomes more respected, because you respect dudes that already did it. So I can’t do nothing but take my hat off to the kid and just say, yo, I admire that. That’s what it’s all about, real detecting real. I appreciate that.

Most of the music I ever listened to was not on the radio, ie spice 1 ect, so why do yall expect to here it on the radio now. az was never on the radio, wu was barely on the radio before triumph, MOP, ect. hip hop is alive. real hip hop was always underground. what yall trippin for. the sea is plentiful with music, if you dont like catfish, throw it back in the sea and wait a minute or two, your bound to catch a perch or somethin….

Gotta bounce. But three things…
(1) I’ve silently co-signed everything that Ty has had to say on the subject thus far. I would like to offer a pre-emptive co-sign on anything he says on the subject while I’m away (as long as it isn’t gay)
(2) I don’t want to hate on peoples music too much. Joe88 likes what he likes, and I respect that. I just feel that there’s not many people out in the big wide world who are supporting what I would class as real Hip Hop (and that goes for Tall Isreali’s, Radio DJ’s and the music-buying public).
(3) What I really want to know is when Hip Hop went through a major sea-change like this the last time around, did all the ‘old school’ emcees/fans think it was bullshit? Did Kool Moe Dee think that Pete Rock & CL Smooth were wack? Did Cold Crush think that KRS-One was bullshit music?
Maybe the answer to number (3) will tell us something about how to look at the current superiority of the trap music new jacks. But maybe it wont.

I dont know why yall so mad at hip hop. Prodigy gave me a classic, devin gave me a nice one. Even KRS gave me somethin tight. Canibus didnt even let me down.
^ Co-Sign. In my neck of the woods, Jay,WU,Spice 1, Too Short, only got played on the radios on Friday night, outside of singles.

he aint no overnight MC he put in that work, but an artist like budden, he had the work ethic, he was on alot of mixtapes starting out, but after his 1st album he slowed down, where’s MM3? exactly,
….ok cause people hate when we talk about budden i’m just gonna say this one thing and thats it…..i right now on my comp. have well over 200 -300 completely different joe budden songs……budden has released like 20 different mixtapes , just cause you havent heard them all you call him lazy ?
^SMFH, how can you have the quote above you’re comment & still get it wrong, I gave him his props, but what mixtape has he dropped this year? Exactly
=====================================
>….maybe you missed the point where he is trying to get mm3 released through an indy ( remeber you 2 before said so what just go to koch….he is trying he wants mm3 released on koch obviously hov isnt letting it happen )
^How about this, fuck MM3 then, if he can’t get it out on a indy as of right now, keep MM3 in the cut for right now then & make another mixtape, I know he got some broke homies around him, make a mixtape with them, do something, he sitting on MM3 likes it gonna cure cancer or change the world, fuck that, release something, i’m not a fan & I wanna hear a whole CD from this guy (naw, no I don’t but the suspense is killing me)

Saigon recently said in an interview with XXLMag.com that he wanted to talk to you about changing the title of your album, Greatest Story Ever Told, because it’s similar to his upcoming LP, The Greatest Story Never Told. What’s your take on the situation?
I don’t really give a shit. I’m not trippin’. He do his thing, I do my thing. I didn’t get my album title from him [and] he didn’t get his from me. We were just thinking on the same levels around the same time. I’m cool with dude, but it ain’t really too much to be done. My shit is on its way. And I don’t think our markets cross enough for it to really be that much of a problem. And with me, dawg, we have a tendency to fall into some shit and people want to make it something bigger than what it is. It ain’t that big of a deal. If dude wants to find me, he knows how to get at me.

I like “whatever it takes” I like some of his music, if that helps the situation at hand, so that should let you & other budden fans know i’m not saying things strictly for shock value, I wan’t budden to be victorious, & I want ya’ll the fans to be happy, even tho ya’ll really don’t respect my outlook on alot of the stuff I listen to ahem*boosie*ahem, but w/e w/e w/e, it’s not a competition like ty biggums thinks it is, cause if most of the artist ya’ll like music was that tight then it would be out, it’s more the times then the artist, people are parting more nowadays, like when disco came out, they were parting to the max back then, you can say the same for hip hop right now, things slowed down back then as it will in the future, but for right now the party continues

Jeter- 4 rings.
Jorge Posada- 4 rings
A-Rod– Zero Rings.
Jay- 3 classic albums (RD, BP, Black Album) = Jeter
Nas has “rings” platinum albums, respect, etc. = Posada
Budden = A-Rod.. but A-Rod (nh) always fails when the game is on the line.. He’s been in the post season 3 times with NYY.. It can be argued then that Budden has only been to the post season once..
Sheeit, if anything, Budden’s selling himself SHORT by saying he’s A-Rod..
