Yayo Rejects 9 Month Prison Offer
Marvin rejected a deal offered by prosecutors that would’ve landed him in jail for 9 months for slapping around Henchmen’s kid.
Attorney to the (rap) stars, Scott Leemon, said:
"The prosecution’s nine-month offer is one Tony vehemently rejected. It’s not even a good offer for a guilty person, and Tony denies the allegations absolutely."
I love how attorneys refer to their famous clients by their rap names. "Tony denies the allegations." Don’t you mean Marvin? Anyway, I have a feeling that, between Busta, Marvin, Dwayne and Remy, 2007 (or early 2008) is going to be another big year for rappers going to prison. There’s no way everybody is walking away from all that shit, something’s gotta give.

When she said raided that let me know that’s where I needed to be. I peaced them ugly yoes out and headed to the after hours spot. We get there and the spot was jumpin. I had nowhere to park so I parallel double-parked the muhfugga sideways on the grass. As we was waitin to get in this chick in a cat suit had whipped up. My Johnson let me know that was the one he wanted. I the corner of my eye I seen some cats lookin more grimier than I was so I double checked the shoe for the kool aid releaser. Cats saw me reaching so they behaved. I get in the spot thinking I’m bout to see some dancing and jittin. I go to the back corner to peep the scenery. I spotted the chick in the cat suit. My boy who had been drinkin bumpy face all day called her over to give me a dance for my Birthday. I’m thinkin, why would this fool tell her I want to dance. I look up and the bopper had stripped her cat suit off and started grinding on my Johnson like it was the tt bar. I tell her I don’t like lap dances because I be wanting more. I decline the offer and tossed them boyz in the toilet. My boy had the other breezy upstairs. The two I had went up to watch and wild out. He sent them back down stairs on some he didn’t need no help. I laughed, cranked up the volume the dude so the chicks wouldn’t talk to me as I tried to do some bench presses on some drunk ish. I almost broke my arm. I told the brauds to get out and wait for they girl in the car. The chick my boy had got irritated by the lyrics of Devin the dude and put her garments back on without letting him pitch one off. By then the sun was comin up so headed to the crib wit the biggest smile on my face ever.

Tell you what tho’.. I get where 2X is coming from–his stanism is a bit obnoxious at times, but like I said–I admire the dedication, and I do hope 50 sells well enough so he makes more music for the people that like him.
However…
50 contradicts himself in interviews, he alienated his original fan base, his recent output improved slightly, but I can’t see how anyone could endear themself to 50 enough to wanna see him succeed or to buy his album and go “Finally, someone who speaks to me!”

NY’s been vacant since maybe 2004.. Jada ran shit with his album & “Why” and the remix to “Why”, Ja put out “NY”, and Fat Joe had “Lean Back”, but since early (no freeway) 2005 NY hasn’t had much.. Even Nas and Jay recent albums couldn’t be considered “NY shit”..
The Dips kept putting out mixtapes and shit, always on the radio, they stayed in Harlem.. Plus the little ones out here on LI worshipped them..

But those cats I mentioned at the end are the only ones who make shit that sounds like NY shit.. the Dips do quasi-south sounding stuff (not that there’s anything wrong with that).. Fab is doing southern shit, MIMS (barf).. Swizzy’s from NY but he’s on Mars right now..

In Summer 2003, 50 Cent definitely ruled the airwaves.. but come fall and the horrendousness of “Beg for Mercy”, people were done with him and already gearing up for Jay-Z’s retirement and “The Black Album”.. I stayed checking on Power 105 and Hot 97 in 2k4, and 50 wasn’t–and hasn’t been–on there like he was the first 6 months after GRODT came out. The Dips, Kanye, Mario Winans, D-Block.. They were who Power and Hot (nh) were playing like crazy.
The massive top 40 spins– Come on now, you know just as well as I do that radio’s belonged to Payola forever, and really bad since about that time..
As for the mixtapes.. okay, but that’s just cuz the Dips had moved to Def Jam–cuz in 2002 all you heard was Cam– If it wasn’t for Nas and “Ether”, Cam woulda ran NY in 2002.. G-Unit did their mixtape thing and whoop-dee-doo for them, but they still hadn’t cracked the radio, and that’s when Hot 97 hadn’t completely COMPLETELY sold out yet.
The clothing line– Dude.. Seriously? That was cool for wannabes looking to appear all tough.. “If I wear G-Unit clothing, it’s like I’m all dangerous and stuff! Yeah!”.. That stuff never really took off, and we all know how I abandoned 50 3 weeks after GRODT came out..

Payola–
Payola means shit. It’s why I heard motherfucking “SexyBack” 255 times over the course of 90 days last summer. Nobody genuinely liked that song, but the DJ’s & Media made it seem like it was a good song.
That’s what I meant when discussing spins.. Popular artists with big backing and media exposure like that.. They get their retarded number of spins from payola, and I don’t trust that shit. Nobody liked that Pussycat Dolls “Buttons” songs enough to warrant 5500 spins over last summer.
When an artist gets a song played regularly even tho’ they don’t have an album coming out or if they have an album that’s “underperforming”, I take that as a sign that the artist is achieving said Radio Play organically.. people either requesting it, or DJs actually supporting it.

^^I shouldn’t even bother with this, but yes, there is tons of money that goes into this, there are 4 major labels that own all of these other labels… all these labels that fools come out with are just imprints of imprints of other imprints… the same rich white people are getting paid in the end… songs getting added to a radio playlist happen because they get packages from these labels, it’s rare that a song that gets added, stays in rotation because it’s actually what the listeners want to hear, there are other influences… the payola practice has since changed since Schumer got in everyone’s ass, but it does still exist…
