It’s not the exposure, it’s not the shelved NY rappers: It’s the inferior product. I could care less about the other stuff, I judge music based on the quality of it–not how much money an artist makes (50), his exposure (weezy), his bravado that always leaves out his lack of talent (jim jones)–but how good the music is.
Up here, all the southern rap they play sounds the same.. some stupid catchphrase ringtone bullshit that nobody will remember in 3 months.
It gets really frustrating that we’re being force-fed inferior gimmicky tripe from a new southern artist almost literally every day when better artists–regardless of region–can’t get a record on.
Southern rap fans, take pride in your music–but let that pride extend to what music represents ya’ll, cuz right now it’s motherfucking “A Bay Bay” (a southern song regardless of where dude is from) or “Wipe Me Down” or a bunch of other songs I can’t care enough to remember.
Furthermore, NY artists making south-sounding records are just as crappy–Fat Joe, Fabolous, Jae Mills, Freekey Zeeky–as anywhere else.
Benoit’s Wikipedia entry was altered early Monday to say the wrestler had missed a match two days earlier because of his wife’s death.
A Wikipedia official, Cary Bass, said the entry was made by someone using an Internet protocol address registered in Stamford, Conn., where World Wrestling Entertainment is based.
Most of your hate/disliking towards sourthern artist are based on the singles they drop, you’ve never heard any of those dudes albums you named, so how can you really say there wack if you never listen to no more than 2 minutes of there work? If I picked my music the same way you did, then I would laugh everytime you bring up J Budden, cause wipe me down > pump it up, Ay bay bay > the new trash he got with T-Pain, but I look beyond singles, everybody know the single doesen’t have to have any depth, it just has to catch your attention, SMH @ people that desides who wack off a single.
Dudes like TI, Weezy, Jeezy, ‘Face, UGK, 3-6 Mafia, Rick Ross, Trick Daddy, ‘Kast.. those dudes are all older cats, they take pride in their music and it shows, so maybe it’s just the younger dudes trying to get on..
But those ni**as are all microwave ni**as, they get hot quick, then you take ‘em out (aka cop) and it just doesn’t give you the same enjoyment as a more thoroughly prepared meal (disc).
That’s where you gotta give a SaiBudden credit for refusing to put out something crappy just to get a quick “buzz” (my second most hated term in hip-hop, right after “movement”).. I know Budden put out the T-Pain sounding joint, but 1-Dude hasn’t put a retail out in 4 years, and in that time Capo’s put out 3, Juelz 2, Jeezy 2, Tip 3, Weezy 2–so he’s at “Do what I gotta” status right now, and 2- We all learned from his first joint that his singles are in no way indicative of his talent, content, focus, or personality.

but if I don’t like a single, why would I cop an album? I told ya’ll, I’m not d/ling every single album or sure as shit not buying every single retail.. @ eskay – lil wayne is god awful….he cant stay on topic…he just tosses words around with no regard for their meaning….read his lyrics and you will never think the dude is nice ever again…
I’ve read enough interviews with enough artists to know if I’m gonna give a shit to support a retail..
If I hear a great single that makes me think, and I dig the interview/backstory, I’ll cop an album.
If the single is fluff and the interview is the same thing: raised by mom/gramma, rapped, stopped rapping to hustle/hustled and rapped, mixtape, buzz, gimmicky single, album–I won’t.
I’ve heard 3 Saigon songs ever..but his interviews and those songs make me give a shit enough to support him.
WWE attorney Jerry McDevitt said that to his knowledge, no one at the WWE knew Nancy Benoit was dead before her body was found Monday afternoon. Text messages released by officials show that messages from Chris Benoit’s cell phone were being sent to co-workers a few hours after the Wikipedia posting.
WWE employees are given WWE e-mail addresses, McDevitt said, though he did not know whether Chris Benoit had one.
“I have no idea who posted this,” McDevitt said. “It’s at least possible Chris may have sent some other text message to someone that we’re unaware of. We don’t know if he did. The phone is in the possession of authorities.”

While corporate greed on the behalf of the record labels and artists looking to cash in and make a buck on trends has lot to do with the direction the industry has gone- today’s rap fans are some ignorant mofos. You go back even a few years, you find fans that were really into the music and would use what they heard in the radio and liked as a jumping off point (no peedi & beanie) to investigate further and discover new music. Today’s rap fans are some lazy mofos who are have been blinded by the bling and are too damn willing to be lambs to a rappers whim. All they want is a catchy tune they can do some wack ass dance move (ballin) to in the club.
>of course you’re gonna pick the worst example you can think of, but you know what, I’d rather listen to that shit than Big Things Poppin’
^T.I killed “Big thangs poppin” did you really listen to the 2nd & 3rd verse? His flow over that beat is sinister. I starting to like wayne again (no homo) but he has nothing in his catalog that’s better than Trap muzik, he is hit or miss, but 78% of his musik is miss, & he’s not consistant, that Drought 3 is hot garbage, while T.I only has 1 mediocore album & that’s king
T.I >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Cash money puppet president

Was that Pistol Pete? The Mo’ Thugs actually don’t appear to be suck-ass actors. No Don Cheadles, of course. But better than State Pr– … State Proper– …
if you think those verses were anything but passable, you’re out of your mind.
Don’t get me wrong, Trap Muzik is a 4 1/2 mic album to me, but that’s his only consistently dope LP. IMO Carter II can stand next to it easily. and Drought 3 might have been weak, but that shit over the Mike Jones beat > anything I’ve heard from Clifford vs. Clif
if you think those verses were anything but passable, you’re out of your mind.
^He rode the beat (nh) that makes it much easier to enjoy the song, the 3rd verse when he was talking bout his family members was dope
>Don’t get me wrong, Trap Muzik is a 4 1/2 mic album to me, but that’s his only consistently dope LP. IMO Carter II can stand next to it easily.
^Carter 2 was tight, but T.I chose of topics + the depth & the hunger he brung on that album puts it over Carter 2 IMO, & the carter 2 had too many album fillers on there, but I still bump the intro
>and Drought 3 might have been weak, but that shit over the Mike Jones beat > anything I’ve heard from Clifford vs. Clif
^I can agree on that, he owned Mike jones on that beat, they actually play that song in the clubs down here. IMO the drought is over is way better than the drought 3, & he’s hitting alot of topics on drought is over, scarface & something you should know is in heavy rotation in the CD player. I just hope T.I aint lose his hunger, that’s the only advantage I give wayne over T.I. tip is getting too comfortable with his acheivements, when he should feel he has more to accomplish.

^I’m about 70/30 on that one. Mixed in with a few East heavy hitters afraid to go outside the box (meaning do some new shit, not try to do South tracks).

^^^^

Big Things Poppin’ = garbage
if you think those verses were anything but passable, you’re out of your mind.
Clif
