So Just is saying that Chris and Clifford got into it at Kevin Liles’ pre-BET Awards luncheon this weekend. No word on whether it was T.I. or T.I.P. who shot the fair one with Luda, but T.I.P. doesn’t strike me as the type of dude who attends luncheons. Advantage: Ludacris.

Figured some shit was gonna break out between TIP and Luda soon, especially since TIP was talking greasy about Luda winning that grammy.
Anyway, yeah Luda can flow but he’s also corny 85% of the time which is why its hard to get into his albums. The only album of his I ever really fucked with was Word of Mouf.
The TI album is lackluster but its not completely garbage. He has some good tracks on there but it seems like he’s on cruise and has lost the fire/hunger/drive that he needs to put out good music. Seems to happen when niggas get rich.
I’ve only listened to a lil over 3/4 of the TI v. TIP but regardless I can guarantee every song on there is better than that bullshit “Slappin Somebody Today” or whatever the name of the song is that Luda released off his album.

But the older luda joints? Red Light District, Incognegro, Chicken and Beer… those cds are nice. Luda def did some heavy snapping on those. I loved how he had them bangin ass intro’s. Tell me he didn’t put together a quality cd, before Release Therapy?!?!?!

Re: Luda’s Catalogue: I’ve only heard Word of Mouf and Chicken and Beer.. Word of Mouf was solid, his guest spots were incredible bordering on classic, and then when C&B dropped I couldn’t have been more disappointed. It was gimmicky trash.
Somebody at Def Jam in early 2003 said “Hey Luda, Red & Mef are getting old, we need you to do more clowny shit. The white kids hear the black kids talking about your guest appearances, so the ‘wannabe factor’ is there, but you need to make them crackers laugh to sell records, you know, just like Red & Mef and Eminem.”
So then Luda did some stupid gimmicky trash for two albums, and then when he was losing his true blue fans, he came back with “serious” material (apparently) on Release Therapy, with a nice, safe “Get the girls on the dance flo’” single.

^Naw, but I can relate more to T.I than luda, cause I have been convicted for CDS plenty of times (not wearing it on my chest like a badge of honor cause it’s not) so I do connect with T.I, but that’s not why I like T.I’s music, I like his music cause I hear the honesty in his voice (mainly older stuff) songs like “Still ain’t forgave myself” “Praying for help” “You can be better than me” “Just doing my job” “Goodlife” & the list goes on, while a guy like luda makes songs like “saturday” “Get back” Move bitch” & so on. So when I hear ya’ll say luda is better cause he can rap better sounds dumb to me, cause rap isnt all about how good your guest spots are, it’s more than one catagory in rap & luda is a one trick pony, think when he stepped out of his comfort zone & made “Runaway love” that shit sound horrible, it didn’t sound beliveable at all, & it took him 5 albums to even think outside of the box & people really think he’s great, GTFOH.

Luda is actually lyrically better than T.I., I don’t think anyone would question that. T.I., at least to me, gets better production the Luda does now, but Luda is a better rapper. A lot in hip hop is the team behind you (No Anal) and the record label exec’s. yeah ive been feeling like that for a while but like i said i was at my boys funeral this weekend and listening to his dad talk aout how happy he was the last couple of months cause he quit his high paying engineering job to do what he really wanted too…and shit just hit home like i dont need to or want to be spending my life like this….most people work jobs like this cause they have a family to support and shi i dont nor am i anticipating having one soon….so why act like it…i wanna try and do something i really want to do….something i always wanted to do

thats the thing its just me….my parents are good my pops made his money….i’m an only child….no serious wifey holding me down…not looking for one i like my quiet time….with few headaches….and i’m scared too have kids….like i said i got money aside to live comfortably and do nothing for the next 2 years if i wanted to….so i figure maybe take the time off to try and make a big move….cause lifes to short to waste working some job i dont need that bad just cause it seems like the thing to do

how is luda lyrical? I’ve never heard a lyrical joint from luda. He’s like a southern version of redman with less than stellar skills.
Ludacris has never impressed me.
Ludacris is just a step above a nursery rhymer. His rhyme scheme is always the same and his raps are only about doing marvel vs capcom fatalities towards someone in the club.
I’m not even a T.I. fan but I have heard some lyrical verses from T.I. but Never has bought or even really heard his albums. But just observing these cats I dont see how anyone can take luda serious.
