@G7: Yea my hopes for Detox died too, but I remember a few months ago there was a week or two where it was said he is working on it for a release this year. Probably just him in the studio working on other projects. Well the link said no Rae as well, but a release from Joell. Either or no Detox, Rae, or Joell is a big disappointment.

ether = Good hook, great beat, and a bunch of lies. Most of Nas diss consisted of lies or him focusing on Jay’s looks, but because no one expected Nas to conted with Jay at the time(people thought he was washed up) it got more props then it deserved.

By that point the whole thing had died down.. but the non-roc guest appearances were Twista (a roc proxy), Big Boi (but I heard that song was his anyway but 3G didn’t wanna be on it), the Neptunes (barf), Sean Paul (who did hooks for anyone back then–he was the ‘02-’03 Akon), Dre (ghostwriting favor), Rakim (aftermath..dre..etc), and a couple random singers. Not alot of big rappers on that one (all respect due), and No NYC rappers..
So yeah.. Jay still took a big hit. (no marky mark movie OR ty’s lunch break)

T.I and Jay…on paper seems like a good pairing on paper, but when on of them has a problem saying any words with more than five letters or more than two syllables and when he does he amends/adds an ‘a or ‘on etc to it…ionno I do understand how some folks would think this is a nice mashup of contrasting styles…w/e happened to when the best rappers got on a track you expected some ground shattering chit. The better the rapper jay is paired with the better he raps…T.I on the other hand is inverse to this theory only because he raps exactly the same on all his songs. Never once have I been in awe of his lyrical capabilities…can he rap though…hell yeah…but can he rap? No. Odd. Welcome.
