  23. Killa Jones Says:

A new joint venture of Warner Music Group Corp. and one of the most prominent managers in the music business is aiming to generate new revenue by linking musicians and corporate America. Brand Asset Group, as the newly formed venture with Chris Lighty, the manager of rapper 50 Cent, is called, aims to address one of the biggest complaints among record labels: Their inability to capitalize on lucrative revenue streams such as merchandise sales and image licensing that typically benefit artists and their managers.

The new venture doesn’t intend to limit its services to Warner Music artists. In fact, the company’s first deal is an 18- to 24-month endorsement relationship between General Motors Corp.’s Pontiac and 50 Cent, who records for Vivendi’s Universal Music Group. That means Warner Music will receive a portion of the income of a rapper who records for a rival label. Mr. Lighty said the relationship is expected to be broad — with 50 Cent possibly having input into the design of the car maker’s Pontiac G6 GXP Street edition and likely featuring the car in places such as music videos and the CD booklet for an album he is slated to release late this summer.

  41. Killa Jones Says:

The state Assembly passed a bill legalizing medical use of marijuana Wednesday, after about a decade of attempts to approve similar legislation in the state.

The bill allows caregivers and seriously ill patients with diseases like cancer or aids to register with the state to purchase up to two and half ounces of marijuana and grow up to a dozen plants.

“I think it’s important, among them now it’s up to the Republican state Senate to take on the controversial issue. The idea got a warm reception from Senate majority leader Joe Bruno, but he says that the assembly bill needs tighter controls,” said Sheldon Silver.

Now it’s up to the Republican State Senate to take on the controversial issue. The idea got a warm reception from Senate majority leader Joe Bruno, but he said that the Assembly bill needs tighter controls.

It looks like Medical Marijuana, will soon be legal in New York State. Thanks to an above face from Governor Spitzer. Our Molly Kroon has more on the bill.

“The Assembly bill doesn’t work but our bill will control how it gets out,” said Bruno.

Sponsors of the Senate bill said it could be introduced as early as Thursday and could explore the option of having the state’s health department grow and distribute the marijuana. But that would require federal approval, a big leap and a possible court battle. The Assembly bill allows patients to get the drug through dealers, although selling it would still be illegal.

Critics said patients already have access to legal drugs to combat pain and nausea. And the bill faces critics in the Senate, who said lawmakers should be addressing more pressing issues.

“It’s inappropriately, last thing we need to do. If both houses can agree on a compromise bill, Governor Spitzer, a former critic, now says he’s open to signing it into law,” Martin Golden said.

  42. Two-Times Says:

^ based on potetional… Lil wayne got a way better catagolue…

but if peedi could drop more songs and get good production he could be doing tight shit…

  48. E AKA THE REAL NORIEAGA Says:

Peedi Crakk is dope but he needs to release more albums or at least mixtapes.

Lil’ Wayne is one of the very few mc’s that continuosly tries to improve, shows creativity, and has a good work ethic. He may be a homo but he’s a dope rapper.

  49. BKScribe Says:

    holy fuck.. this is ass

thas the day freeway’s career ended

  54. BKScribe Says:

I understand where this record was tryin to go.. what it was tryin to do… but it did neither.. chances are though.. it will get radio play.. to the point where you never heard the song but you know the verses by heart.. like everything else.. and you don’t cop the album.. or the single.. but you get the ring tone.. Shit I can’t remember the last time one of these major “singles” got me hype

  55. Two-Times Says:

Shit I can’t remember the last time one of these major “singles” got me hype

^ If they put out this trash as a single, the A&R’s should get fired…

Nah.. 50 won’t let them put this shit out as a single…

  56. BKScribe Says:

I don’t even think 50 cares about music anymore.. he filmin with deniro.. makin that dinero.. does deals with coca cola.. copped a testarossa.. Sorry sorry.. i jus watched that fab freestyle where he swacked weezy of all people.. shits a shame.. and I thought fab was back on that brooklyn track..

    ^^^^
I’m a fan of Fab’s music but he is one of the all time swagger jackers. His first single was a 2Pac hook with Nate Dog singing it(Fab ain’t from the West) and now that the south is popular he has Jeezy on the hook and he tries rhyming like Weezy.

  58. Killa Jones Says:

niggas like fab got no choice but to sell out now days/ not if they wanna eat

is that pressure from thr labels man

  59. Killa Jones Says:

yea but fab has that original flow( if you don’t think he took his flow from mase).

then banks took it to a grimier level(which was hot also)

  60. BKScribe Says:

good points.. even though he swacked shit.. he always had that brooklyn swag tho.. on this… he came off at weez santana.. but fuck it.. its the game nowadays huh.. btw.. i jus caught up on that khaled video.. holy shit that muthafuckas annoying.. we da best.. ts aint even near the worst.. they some amalgamation lower than absolute zero.. cuban said it best when the person with the biggest balls on TS was a chick.. (till she left that is)

  61. E AKA THE REAL NORIEAGA Says:

Yeah I now you got to do what the label says to make money but at least be discrete Fab blatantly swagger jacks.

  62. eskay Says:

    >>Nah.. 50 won’t let them put this shit out as a single…

you act like 50 don’t have 3 wack singles out right now. so wack that he got his shit pushed waaaaay back and dragged back into the studio by Iovine. smh @ the sea of denial you swim in.

  63. E AKA THE REAL NORIEAGA Says:

cuban said it best when the person with the biggest balls on TS was a chick.. (till she left that is)

  64. Killa Jones Says:

lol @ eskay coming out the wood works to get on 2x

  65. Klive Rex Says:

I don’t know if ya’ll realize, but Jay jacked that breathy ass flow from Young Chris. Go back to when Chris first joined the Roc and you’ll start to notice a change in Jay’s delivery.

  66. Two-Times Says:

so wack that he got his shit pushed waaaaay back and dragged back into the studio by Iovine.

    ^ Where’s your source on that… mediatakeout…smh…

50 pushed his shit back himself cause Interscope was playing games promoting it…
He gonna add a song with Jeezy and sell 2 million off the top… and you still gonna be mad….

  67. Killa Jones Says:

don’t know if ya’ll realize, but Jay jacked that breathy ass flow from Young Chris. Go back to when Chris first joined the Roc and you’ll start to notice a change in Jay’s delivery

    ^^
it wouldn’t be the first thing he jacked

  68. eskay Says:

so you’re saying all of 50’s singles aren’t trash? and please, Interscope was on they job, but Curtis wasn’t. smh @ you making excuses up off the top of your head.

  69. Killa Jones Says:

    waaaaaaa!!!!-weezy

  70. BKScribe Says:

yea the breathy flow.. which fat joe swacked.. which countless others took.. it’s all gonna come full circle.. in 3 months a single is gonna drop that starts ” “I said da hip hop hibbi to da hibbidy smack bitches sillilly dead in the middle of little italy/ flow so crazy.. it’s insane../ insane in the membrane.. insane in the brain/” basically cut and pastin the last 30 years of shit that came out into one giant mess..

  71. eskay Says:

Jay-Z > most of you niggas lives

as well as your unborn kids

people will write anything on the internets these days huh.

  72. E AKA THE REAL NORIEAGA Says:

A lot of Roc artists and east coast artists in general stole that flow from Young Chris. When is Grandpa Simpson gonna release another Young Gunz albums both of their cds where suprisingly good.

  73. Two-Times Says:

so you’re saying all of 50’s singles aren’t trash?

    ^ No.. Ya heard me?…

Amusement Park followed the same (song type) format as the last 2 albums..(inda club, candy shop)

Straight to the Bank was good… and crazy downloaded on itunes…

    fully loaded clip…interscope didn’t even release it… 50 leaked it as a street single…

  74. BKScribe Says:

it goes deeper on jackin too.. production.. shit.. take a hot beat.. change the BPM.. change the 3rd n 7th note.. change the octave… throw some overused drums down on it.. change the pitch.. tempo.. call it a banger.. pass go.. collect 60k + points. listen to “Bitch get in my car” the guitar sounds alot like the piano in “without you” mary j’s monster song from last year.. and thats one example.. i catch them shits all the time.

  75. Two-Times Says:

50 gonna make a couple new bangers and add it to the album…y’all (Eskay) making it into a big deal….blowing outta proportiong…

    it’s coming… 09.04.07

  76. eskay Says:

I ain’t ask you all that yo, I asked whether or not the songs were trash. you trying to beat around the bush talking about itunes downloads as if that = good song. FOH.

    >>it’s coming… 09.04.07

^^ Whoa nelly.. Jay did it big no question.. his only dramatic short coming.. is his ear or lack there of ..for talent. besides 50 seem like he on pace to eclipse jay’s accomplishments.. does he have as many classic songs that move you? nah never.. but in terms of money, which is what the game has become about.. 50 bout to eclipse everyone.. except jimmy..

side note: When did that murda murda marcyville track drop.. he had that soft breathy flow on there gettin at nas when he dropped one mic.. that might predate young chris

  79. Two-Times Says:

    the songs weren’t trash…. and they weren’t the greatest 50 ever…you happy now?…

in da club & 21 questions wasn’t trash…but it wasn’t his best work on the album….

  80. Klive Rex Says:

so you’re saying all of 50’s singles aren’t trash?

Straight to the Bank wasn’t bad IMO. But Amusement Park…that shit was beyond wack.

  81. Jon Says:

    those three songs are trash

  82. BKScribe Says:

the impression i got from 50’s last few singles IMO is “I don’t care bout this music shit no mo” he got EM-itis

  83. Two-Times Says:

    Eskay

You act like “Change Clothes” was a good represtentation of the Black album….and that song was trash…

  84. Killa Jones Says:

you’re a poor excuse for a black man

    ^^
    wow !!!!…smh

niggas get so emotional/ they remind me of my bitch(c)50

  85. Two-Times Says:

    Killa..word…yeah that song is good…

  86. Jon Says:

straight to da bank decent but thats mostly cause of the beat…first verse decent, after that the song is straight to the landfill

  87. Two-Times Says:

Y’all wanna forget when Jay-Z drops trash like “change clothes” or “show me what you got”… but 50 makes one different song, and it’s a big deal… smh

  88. Klive Rex Says:

I remember when I first saw the “Straight to the Bank” video and saw Yayo dancin’ during the chorus, shit had me rollin’!

  89. Killa Jones Says:

    fuck changing clothes

how bout “show me what you got”

    worst single ever!!!

  90. eskay Says:

    >>besides 50 seem like he on pace to eclipse jay’s accomplishments.. does he have as many classic songs that move you? nah never.. but in terms of money, which is what the game has become about.. 50 bout to eclipse everyone..

^ how you figure? what type of fuzzy math are you using? Curtis is nowhere near Shawn’s bankroll. and the game may be about $ to you, but speak for yourself.

  91. Two-Times Says:

    fuck changing clothes

how bout “show me what you got”

    worst single ever!!!

    ^^ that’s what I’m saying… but Eskay wanna forget that shit…

  92. eskay Says:

Show Me What You Got > Amusement Park

    say no

  93. Jon Says:

when it comes to making good music 50 would rather make a song that appeals to 8th graders and high school freshman and his army of stans that were 8th graders and high school freshman when grodt came out

  94. Killa Jones Says:

    no

  95. Killa Jones Says:

at least i can freak to Amusemnet park

i don’t kno what to do with “show me what you got”

  96. Two-Times Says:

    no…

but you think I’m dogg on Jay just cause he came out without trash…nah I know his album will have way better cuts on it…always does

but I can understand why he chose to put a song like that out first..

  97. eskay Says:

    >>no

you’re lying on your dick and I don’t know who you was calling a bitch a minute ago. we don’t get emotional over here.

  98. E AKA THE REAL NORIEAGA Says:

Show Me What You Got = Amusment Park

They both had corny hooks, forgettable verses, and both artists were outshined on those beats by other rappers. KC wasn’t that bad an album though.

  99. Jon Says:

jay-z makes songs that are different, not afraid to try something new on an album, 50 makes cookie cutter songs, they all have same lyrical content same sing song chorus, starting to get old…..

  100. eskay Says:

yo, I get chills thinking about the joy it’s gonna bring me when Curtis flops or gets pushed back again or is shelved altogether. I’m gonna take a week off of work just to follow Two Times around the internet talking shit.

  101. Killa Jones Says:

lol @ me arguing at 3 in the morning

  102. BKScribe Says:

^ how you figure? what type of fuzzy math are you using? Curtis is nowhere near Shawn’s bankroll. and the game may be about $ to you, but speak for yourself.

based on the pace he been on.. based on Jay got his last infusion of paper off the sale of roc a wear.. sure he gonna continue to earn.. and continue to get endorsements.. shit like that.. but his major earning.. seems to be over.. now its about investments.. of course im an outsider looking in.. even if my stool is a lil closer to the window than the average person. 50 got g unit.. the g unit catalog.. g unit clothing.. not to mention a few lucrative offers on the table.. and when it comes to rap.. at this current state.. you gonna tell me its not about paper? shit even on this wack ass freeway jay song.. jay talkin bout the phantom cause too many cats fathom what it is to have them.. the black album was top 5 albums all genres past 10 years hands down in my opinion.. but his “swan song” lead you to believe if he came back.. he’d be probably.. lyrically talib kweli. I don’t presume to tell you what the game means to me.. the same way I don’t assume that is what the game means to you.. it was a generalization based on the empirical lyrical shift of content.. what pops and sadly what doesn’t.

  103. Jon Says:

50 knows how to make money and good music he just chooses to only do the former nowadays

  104. Two-Times Says:

when Curtis flops or gets pushed back again or is shelved altogether

^ not gonna happen… you still don’t get it?..

    50 is Interscope cash machine..
He gonna sell atleast 2 million domestic..that’s minimun.. smoke a cohiba to that..

  105. BKScribe Says:

sidenote… i didnt care much for SMWYG… but the flow on that track.. WAS BANANAS.. like.. the word play.. double triple rhyme schemes.. shit gets glossed over because of peoples disdain for the track.. but that shit was intricate

  106. Killa Jones Says:

jay has lost his infulence with the young audience

he’s is only relevent cuz he got that job at def jam

and he is even fuckin that up

bring back dame /bring back dipset

  107. Two-Times Says:

    bring back dipset

^ He still got Juelz signed to def Jam… Good move by hov not letting him go… Juelz will sell..

It would be funny if Capo signed to Def Jam…lol… I think he’ll probably get a good deal from Atlantic..

  108. eskay Says:

    >>50 got g unit.. the g unit catalog.. g unit clothing..

G-Unit is over in case you haven’t noticed. 50 is the only artist left with any kind of real commercial potential and things are not even looking good for him. The G-Unit catalog I’m sure earns some bucks but doesn’t equal: 40/40, Armandale, The Nets, Jay-Z Blue, Rocawear, the royalties from 10+ bestselling albums, Cherry Coke, Bud Select, Audemars Piguet, and I could go on and on.

G-Unit clothing? please who wears that garbage. Rocawear actually sells.

Two Times, get it through your head that 50 is not even making good commercial pop anymore. he’s finito.

  109. BKScribe Says:

jay has lost his infulence with the young audience

he’s is only relevent cuz he got that job at def jam

and he is even fuckin that up

bring back dame /bring back dipset

^^ aww now I can’t cosign any of that.. jay may have lost touch with the young audience somewhat.. but his audience grew with him.. shit the dude cant be runnin around with grills.. 7 chains on.. doin dvd’s and gettin hyphie.. and what he has done with cross marketing of artists.. himself.. rhianna most notably.. is what all execs should look to for a blueprint.. (i’m refering to budweiser and covergirl)

Dame.. chill.. ultimate hustler.. nah b.. not really.

dipset .. ehh take it or leave it.. they do make shit you can bump out the whip

  110. Killa Jones Says:

Good move by hov not letting him go…

    ^^
it wasn’t hov that kept him it was LA reid

in fact juelz tried to sway juelz into joining roca-fella

but juelz refused and cam cut a 50% deal with def jam to promote juelz

cuz LA reid wanted to juelz to stay….jay knew that.

  111. Two-Times Says:

G-Unit clothing? please who wears that garbage. Rocawear actually sells.

^ That shit is way better than Roc-a-wear… you can’t be serious…

G-Unit is over in case you haven’t noticed. 50 is the only artist left with any kind of real commercial potential and things are not even looking good for him. The G-Unit catalog I’m sure earns some bucks but doesn’t equal: 40/40, Armandale, The Nets, Jay-Z Blue, Rocawear, the royalties from 10+ bestselling albums, Cherry Coke, Bud Select, Audemars Piguet, and I could go on and on.

Tou che.. but 50 did do in 2 or 3 what took jay 10.. that is partly because Jay opened the doors for him.. but that is mostly cause he a beast on his hustle.. thas it. Who is a better artist.. Jay.. more money .. Jay.. More earning power.. Jay.. More hunger.. 50.. I’m jus sayin.. i mean personally i don’t know them and vice versa.. Maybe Jay got you on the S. Carter Yatch and you know what he got planned.. but this is all my opinion.. im personally more concerned with how I can even breech the lower echelon of their tax bracket.

  115. eskay Says:

    >>That shit is way better than Roc-a-wear… you can’t be serious…

I don’t wear any clothing by rappers personally, but I really hope you’re kidding. G-Unit clothing is made by fucking Marc Ecko. it’s basically the same low budget nonsense you see at Dr. Jay’s under various different names. I was in Macy’s the other day and all of that shit was on clearance cuz wasn’t nobody buying it. At least I can say that I’ve seen Rocawear shit that if I had no choice, I would wear outside. I’d rather go naked that rocking that G-Unit bullshit.

nobody said Jay owned the Nets, and Armandale is not Dame’s shit.

Both Sunnis and Shia say bombing a plot to incite sectarian violence

    Steve Watson
    Prison Planet
    Wednesday, June 13, 2007

Both Sunni and Shias Iraqis have accused the U.S. of being behind the bombing the al-Askari shrine in Samarra, one of the holiest Shia religious sites, in order to further incite sectarian violence between the two rival Islamic groups and provide a justification for the American surge.

Sunni Muslim leaders belonging to the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq have questioned how terrorists could get access to the site which has been heavily guarded by about 60 Federal Protection Service forces and 25 local Iraqi police and closed to the public since it was attacked last year in a bombing which many also believed to be the work of US forces.

^Whichever school allows the most credits then finish there, which is what I’m doing. I’m finishing where I started and I’m already taking major classes. Just like you I did some college-hoppin’ but I knew I didn’t wanna have to take classes that I already took equivalents of at another school. Whichever gets you to commencement faster is the route to go. As for major, take somethin’ that you’re interested in. Forget about making money all together. And you GOTTA have the bonus joints, they complete the album/mixtape. Bang On ‘Em is great. That sample is BANANAS. The one with Alc rappin’ is good too. And then there’s the final ode to his family.

….that Fab CD is for iTunes buy only. only 3 songs are worth a buy.

Fab is a Good MC but he kills songs by doing the hooks. he killed @ least 4-5 songs JUST by doing the hooks himself. His Voice aint that strong for hooks (n/h)…its like his “Swagger” is made up…its not natural, u can tell he was allways that corny nigga u grew up with who u kept around cuz he Could Rap.

88’s advice to Fab: Do your next project with Premo & Green Lantern.

^Word. Go back to the street shit. He got like 3 chick songs on the album and they all suck (except for the Neyo joint). And all of a sudden, after Game’s success with One Blood, people are just throwin’ Junior Reed on whatever pseudo reggae joint they attempt to pull off.

    ^^^
EASY’STAR! …now the joint with Jr.Reed is fire, maybe because of the jamaican blood in my vains, maybe not… but thats one of the best 3 songs on the shit. that should be a single. he’ll get alot of burn in the East off of that… But most of the CD is garbage. Hip-hop cats dont wanna colab on projects anymore… u gotta break that shit up… like i said, he needs to fuck with Premo & GreenLantern.

If The nigga (fab) ONLY had someone do his hooks for him, the CD would be hot. …i spent most of last night & this morning skipping the hooks in his songs just to hear him spit over the beat… i cant give him a pass if i gotta do that.

His Hooks are WACK. they fuck up the songs.

its an old school thing… ur supposed to sip champagne anyway, so when the older cats did it back it the day, i guess it was like a cool twist to do the straw…

in a strange way, drinkin champagne thru a straw is classier than sippin from the bottle… shit, beats me.
