^Well, imo I think the fascination with Scarface is not just the drug references, but the rebellion against Amerikkka. Minorities (especially the Brown ones) feel they are owed something because of how the gov’t uses their respective homelands to import/export drugs without explanation, compensation, which leads to said degredation (no Jessie Jackson pattern). Cuba, Columbia, and other West Indian islands have always voiced their displeasure for Amerikkkan practices, and it just so happens that Scarface was the first of it’s kind to expose that mentality. And of course this trickles down to African Americans because we are the petty drug pushers who feel that opportunities were stripped from us with the most financially rewarding choice being a hustler.

Warner Bros. has optioned a Thundercats script by new screenwriter Paul Sopocy to turn the popular 1980s animated series and toy line into a live action feature.
Variety says Warner-based Paula Weinstein will produce through her Spring Creek Productions, along with Dick Robertson and Lew Korman.
Thundercats revolves around a group of humanoid cats (with feline names like Lion-O, Tygra, Panthro and Cheetara) who must flee their planet of Thundera after it’s destroyed. Once crash-landing on another planet, Third Earth, they must thwart Mumm-Ra, an evil sorcerer, bent on killing them off.
Sopocy has written the script as an origin story expanding on the major heroes and villains from the animated series, with the plot focusing on Lion-O coming of age as the leader of the Thundercats.
Warner Bros. recently teamed with Joel Silver to produce a live-action He-Man movie, based on the toy and cartoon franchise, as well as a feature based on the DC comic book Teen Titans.

NEW YORK – (AP) Fox News Channel apologized on-air Tuesday for running tape of a different congressman while reporting Monday on the indictment of Rep. William J. Jefferson on bribery charges.
The network ran footage of House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers of Michigan instead of Jefferson. Both congressmen are black.
Fox blamed the mistake on a 22-year-old production assistant hurriedly grabbing a wrong videotape. Fox’s Washington bureau chief, Brian Wilson, said he was mortified by the error.
On Tuesday, Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum said about the Jefferson story: “We mistakenly ran the wrong videotape accompanying that story and we apologize for that error.”
