Silly ft. Nas & Tracy Morgan
Silly is a previously unreleased short film featuring none other than Nasir Jones and comedian Tracy Morgan. I recently came across the clip on director Tee Smif’s Myspace page, and I reached out to him for more information. He sent me the following note and agreed to let me post the clip.
Thanks for checking out our myspace page Eskay. The short "Silly" was something we did one night back in the summer of 2000. We were young artist just testing our filmmaking creativity. We put it up exclusively on our page to showcase the progression of my career in Hip Hop Cinema. I must add, everyone in the film is a true artist. There was no script and all the dialogue was improv on the spot. It was a great learning lesson and blessing for me to start my journey as a film director with all the talents you see in the short. I hope one day we can all get together to complete it.
Tee also worked on Jay-Z’s Fade to Black concert DVD (cinematographer) and happened to have been arrested with with Mos Def at the MTV VMA’s last year. Check out his Myspace page for some more samples of his work.
