I think most hardcore rappers start off their careers by telling us truthful non-fiction stories of the hood life they’ve lived! The reason why most of them started rappin in the first place is to leave the hood and make successful life for themselves and their families. When and if they make some money, get some fame and move from the hood, the themes of their stories are changed forever. No more drug selling, gun fights, beatdowns, etc. Instead of telling the stories truthful to their new lives as successful businessmen & family men, most of them seem obligated to continue telling us the hood stories anyway. Now, they are probably just made up or stories from other follks lives that they left behind?
Do we as fans really want our favorite hood rappers to change from what they were to what they are now when it comes to their music? Most folks would probably say no? That’s why many hardcore rappers are at a crossroad in their careers. If they change to a happier Will Smith vibe, then everyone will say they soft, but if they continue to lie to us with the hood stories while living in Beverly Hills we’ll know that’s fake too. This song isn’t all dat (no kennan & kel) he’s losing it, street wise. A wise man once told me once you turn it off, you can’t turn it back on. His flow is on point, but his lyrics isn’t. I think it’s a double edge sword for fif, he put out so much good music a few years back that all his new shit is gonna be judge by his old shit, it’s not fair, but it’s the hole he dug for himself releasing all those mixtapes.
^Fair assessment. Those old G-Unit tapes are classics. I like this track though. Not his best as far as street music, but he definitely made a solid effort. If the future are better than this, then it’ll be a good look. I’d really like to see the old 50 emerge.

^Sheeeeit, you aint never lied! Just went to my advisor yesterday to make sure I’m on the right path. Gonna take some summer courses so that I can get up outta there by next summer. I’m not rushing it, but not tryin’ to prolong it either. Persuasive paper, huh? Coincidentally I have a persuasive SPEECH to give on gentrification for my COMM 131 class. That shit is due in two weeks. On the realz though, I haven’t been doin’ jack shit in that class for the most part and passin’. Not high scores, but still gettin’ by. I freestyled my last two speeches: 1st one was instructional, the 2nd was informative (the informative is a prequel to the persuasive). Being that persuasive is more opiniated, I’m just gonna go up there and give my random ass perspective for about 7 or 8 minutes. I’m takin’ way too many credits to dedicate too much time for any class.

^I have a weird theory about race in general. Some shit don’t add up to me. They said we’re all from Africa, right? Now, the sayin’ goes… that a group of the so-called “Africans” took pillage to the Caucus mountains and stayed there for umpteen amount of years until their hair and skin changed… so that it could adjust to the climate. But here’s the scenario: right now, you could take a shit load of Africans to some colder climates like Alaska, have them pro-create for century or so, but the babies will still come out Black regardless: dark skin, thick coarse hair, broad nose, big lips. So how can the laws of nature were different back then? Is there somethin’ missin’? Are there details that I left out? I know my theory could be dead ass wrong, but it’s just somethin’ that was on my mind recently.

that is certainly true.. i been drinkin roughly a gallon of milk every 2 days since i was 9… and when i tried out for my highschool football team i was a manchild in the promised land. of course the milk couldn’t change the end result of my growth as it can’t alter genetics.. but it got me there 4 years ahead of everyone else.. moral of the story.. milk produces mutant growth..

But, I also believe in signs… reading, listening, and watching them throughout the day. For instance, when I used to work downtown I used to park in illegally knowin’ that my car could ge towed. And often times, I would drive by like 2 or 3 tow trucks on the way to work, which is a sign that I shouldn’t do that on that day. Or, I’ll compute somethin’ in my mind statistically based on atmosphere… like, if it’s a nice sunny day, I won’t park illegally because the tow truck man will probably wanna enjoy the fresh air with someone’s whip hoisted to the back of his damn truck. Just madd shit I calculate on a daily…

Yep, me too. This site seems to be mostly anti-religious/spiritual (no offense, bear with me), but I look for the “big picture” in a lot of that stuff. Just given some of my misses, and seeing that even tho’ I was disappointed and discouraged due to setbacks, that I’m really in a better place than I’d be had Plan A not fallen thru..

I was maaaaddd depressed, but then my pops found our current abode, and it’s nicer, cheaper, and in a better area than place A.
