The way I understand it… record labels would normally release a single/EP on vinyl for the DJs to play that included the explicit versions of the track. In some cases to push the consumers into buying the vinyl or CD single, they would only include the edited version of the song on the album. Another example of this is the Big Pun hit “I Don’t Wanna Be A Player (Remix) feat. Joe off of his debut album.

Politician/activist Rev. Jesse Jackson has been targeted by the National Legal and Police Center (NLPC), a watch dog group based in Falls Church, Virginia.
Peter Flaherty, president of the National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC), is supporting a shareholder proposal, which is asking corporate giant General Electric to disclose its charitable giving.
Flaherty and the NLPC seek to know how much money has been donated to Jackson and The Rainbow/Push Coalition.
He claims that in the wake of the Imus controversy, Jackson has changed his stance on Hip-Hop music.
“Maybe it’s Jackson who is changing his tune,” Flaherty said in a statement. “In 2002, the National Legal and Policy Center asked Jackson to disinvite from his Wall Street conference a performer known as Slick Rick whose songs are characterized by vulgar and offensive lyrics. We even pointed to a song titled ‘Treat Her Like a Prostitute.’”

Snitching is a complex situation because of the lack of thorough governing in our communities. People should understand that before the major drug operations during the 80′s and early 90′s in Amerikkka, we used to govern our own neighborhoods sans the old heads (or O.G.s, depending on locale) on the block. The men and women in that neighborhood were the “muscle” and handled situations accordingly, depending on the severity of the “crime”. For instance, if someone was wrongfully or innocently murdered at the hands of another, then the men in that neighborhood would approach the person who did it and handle the situation. The punishment could come via beat down, killed, or simply asked to leave and never to return to the hood again. A child that broke someone’s window would be handled by the women via a beatin’ from damn near every woman that lived on that block. And lastly, by the mother/father of that child once they were in the confides of their own home. Discussions between the child, parents, and the violated brought forth reciprocity. An abusive domestic situation between a man and woman was handled by both parties of men and women: the men, telling the man of his wrongful actions and his repricussions for puttin’ hands on a woman; the women, consoling and comforting the abused woman until the anger was nulled. None of these situations required a cop to be on the scene. Blacks/Latins of those communities knew that the law would inflict unfair punishment on those individuals, which in turn broke up the homes and neighborhoods.
Unfortunately, with the removal of the old heads/OG’s off the streets, the neighborhood is being goverened by youths who have no remorse for human life. Snitching is not only shunned, but thought of as vile even when the situation was wrongly handled by the assailent. Women and children are getting threatened without warrant and it’s destorying the community. I’m sure many of us have witnessed acts that were against the law, but often we understood that the “code” was what kept many of our OWN relatives and friends out of jail. I think the biggest problem that’s amidst in snitching is: when is it the right time to tell the police? The justice system deals unfair sentences to our people. But allowing violent acts to happen without “justice” is just as destructive.
If your family member, that you loved dearly, killed someone and you knew about it… would you tell? Or leave another family disheartened because someone in their family was killed by a member of yours?
Not sayin’ either is right or wrong, but simply puttin’ forth a situation that could easily sway your arguments in either direction.

Woman Brings Gun To School Board Meeting

A woman apparently trying to make a point about school safety pulled a gun from her purse at a Fairview Board of Education meeting Monday evening. Witnesses say she was speaking about school safety and how easy it would be to bring a concealed weapon into school and then pulled the handgun from her purse. According to witnesses she was tackled immediately. The gun was not loaded and no one was hurt in the incident.
Fairview is in Boyd County, Kentucky.
Police say she came to the school board meeting to make a point, but her point did more harm than good. Now a woman is charged with pulling a gun out of her purse in a meeting. It all took place Monday evening at the Fairview Independent Schools Board of Education meeting. Police say 51-year old Tina Thompson from Westwood pulled a gun out of her purse to prove a point, but what happened next could haunt her for years.
Like most schools across the country, the flag flies at half staff at Fairview High School to remember the shootings at Virginia Tech last week. Behind those walls a parent wanted to prove a point…with a gun, but her plan backfired.
According to witnesses Thompson said her son was made fun of at school and is getting psychiatric treatment. She said she wanted someone placed in the school with a gun to show authority. That’s when she pulled out a gun to demonstrate how easy it is to get a gun in school. Within seconds, two school board members tackled Thompson and wrestled her to the ground.
According to the police report, Tina Thompson was in possession of at .38 caliber handgun. The report also states the gun was not loaded.
Thompson lives in Westwood where her neighbors tell NewsChannel 3 that she takes care of foster children.
Witnesses at the board meeting say Thompson mentioned the Columbine and Virginia Tech tragedies before reaching for her gun. Police say Thompson is charged with a Class D felony for unlawful possession of a firearm on school property. She could face up to five years in prison.
Tina Thompson declined our request for an interview.
Thompson will be arraigned Tuesday morning in Boyd County district court. The case will be turned over to circuit court since Thompson is charged with a felony.

Were talking abou the hood, therfore there is no “ample resoureces”, any resources will get will automatically be used for protection/warfare. Therfore, we will be able to police ourselves but we will be unstable and without order. If police really wanted to the help the hood, they should uses the citizens from the troubled areas because they know their community and know what is needed..but that will never happen.

If your family member, that you loved dearly, killed someone and you knew about it… would you tell? Or leave another family disheartened because someone in their family was killed by a member of yours?
Not sayin’ either is right or wrong, but simply puttin’ forth a situation that could easily sway your arguments in either direction.
