whats good all, … did anyone happen to watch Bill O’Reilly last night ? This Oriental chick who was filling in for him got ethered somthing terrible. She was sending mad shots at the Leader of the new Black Panther Movement, and was at a lost for words when he called her a Political Prostitute, and the mouthpiece for the fascist conservative racist.
just waking up in the morning, gotta thank god. i dont know, but today seems kinda odd…
^Yo yo tonight feel like a nigga gonna get burnt
Yeah yeah
Its like you hear something tomorrow right
Some like yo, blahzay blahe
Its the wind, Im tellin you
Yeah yeah word
Its the air, I can feel it
It feel hot, it feel feel hot at night and shit like
The sun aint even out
Yo the sun dont shine nobody, knowhatmsayin?
much respect to kris but im not feeling this whole revisionist hip-hop philosophy thats been around for the last few years. they make it seem like hip-hop used to be all about unity, wisdom and knowledge. no it didn’t. hip-hop has always had different aspects and it DID start out as party music. so what we need to embrace is the concept of diversity which includes everything from cannibal ox to common to kool g rap to dipset. if they only played conscious rap on the radio and in the club, i would hate it as much as i hate only hearing that mindless party crunk snap shit. word up.
The problem is that there is differnt types of hip hop, Gangster rap, back pack, commercial etc.. but ppl dont see them for what they are. everyone tryin to compare when there toally differnt things
I wonder whats next too. I mean who is allowed to say what? I say fight fire with fire and leave the playing field open. That word Censorship dont sit right with me, you start forbidding certain shit and before you know it, the internet will become regulated.

Yes there are different types of hip hop, but my problem with it today is that no effort is put into the music. Good concepts, skills, and creativity seem to be a thing of the past. At least years ago the people putting out party music, gangsta rap or whatever actually had talent.

I’m kinda glad Imus came out and said what he said. We’re better off knowing than not knowing imo. If you have hate in your heart let it out(c) Clayton Bigsby lol

^give up the fight for balance in Hip Hop, aslong as its a corporate entity, you can best believe that the radio will play what serves their interest best. When cats smartenup and have full ownership of the whole creative process in making the music, along with having a stake in the distribution and media outlets, then and only then will you see some balance.
i dont know, tone loc, rob base, sugarhill gang, 2 live crew, all them dudes weren’t THAT talented… i think a lot of people let nostalgia influence their opinion
===
and swagger is more important today than actually being able to rap. Without swag most of the rappers today would be flippin’ beef patties at Burger King.

Fair point, but little wayne aint that talented and goin around sayin he’s the best rapper alive when Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, Jay, Nas etc etc are all still beathing. There is a lack of repect as well
swag is also known as charisma and has always been a key to success
which is why talib could start leaning and rocking and still never have a number 1 single

True. rappers before knew or played their position. Now there’s no boundaries. Even in their primes you rarely even heard Ra or Kane saying they were the best rappers alive as often as Stayne, I mean Wayne.

sheeit, without rap the world as we know it would be different. The shits influenced the whole Globe.
^True. But I agree with DBrad’s (the BET producer) assessment about Russell sayin’ that it’s a “global” thing and it wasn’t. Though it has reached the masses and influenced many, it will always be OUR (read: brown minorities, and some whites sprinkled in [who were mostly graffiti artists, designers, b-boyers and sponsers]) thing.

billz whats good homie, if it was conspired, what would be a possible reason
^I’m just speculating for the sake of. But, he was on his way to the Gov’s manchant in Princeton to visit the Rutgers chicks and address the Imus situation.
Btw, for those who think Imus’ career is over don’t have the slightest. I got a feelin’ that Sirius will be leaving him voicemail messages (if they haven’t already) real soon.
what makes it OUR thing Billz, ok we invented it, but shit we invented alot of shit, that dosnt belong to us anymore. What makes someone an owner, is it the money received from the original concept, cause if thats the case (c) the Majors. Or is it the creative aspect, … but anyone can tap into Hip Hops current, feel its vibe, and have it embody them.
spotrushers, when did KRS say all rap had to be conscious rap. even all of KRS’ records aren’t conscious rap! LOL. seems to me YOU’RE the one revising history. if you give “much respect to kris”, don’t put words in hiw mouth. LOL.
oh yeah, KRS saying “I’m the trash in the sewers” in a rap is unforgivable. Editing rhymes is dead…

^I want 3:00 minutes in a UFC Ring with Bill O’Reilly…bare nuckles…This guy is the only guy on T.V. that gets me riled up…
Hip Hop has been world wide. Dont for get that half of the vets werent even born in New York. they just lived there. Hip Hop is up for grabs to anyone who wishes to perticipate in it.
@Cold… I’m talkin’ moreso creatively. The aggressive nature, the dialogue, the beats, dancing… all of those things belong to us. I appreciate the fact that it has transcended beyond just Amerikkkan ghettos and touched people who are living in dire straits in ALL parts of the world. But it seems so much of it has been watered down when in the hands of others. I understand that it has to go through changes to avoid being stale but I just don’t see the essence of all 5 elements (dj’ing, b-boying, grafiti, mc’ing, and the other one I forgot) being represented anymore. My opinion, nonetheless, but that’s how I perceive it.
Sh*t Son… too many politics and personal issues for a Fugee comeback. Plus I think Lauryn is more concerned with raising her seeds than doing music. At least that’s the perception I got on Block Party.
yo Billz, I hear you on that, but I’ve checked the Hip Hop in Europe and other places and the shit I’ve heard seems more pure, authentic and less watered down, then what I hear on a constant basis over here.
===
yeah, that was probably the Fugees first big joint before the Score album dropped a couple years later. Pras was and is a horrible rapper. Definitely group weed carrier.

True, i dont know how great or needed it would of been either. Wyclef, Pras and Lauren are totally diff now compared to when they were hot.
iCon… Yooo, I don’t know chief. And even though that’s from MediaTakeOut, I noticed it last year but I really didn’t say much. At first it just looked like gradual weight loss from exercise. But now, I can’t tell fam. It would be sad if he has ailment that’s affecting his health. He’s literally the epitome of what the youth here in B’more should strive for. Who woulda thought some mofo from “over west” (it’s a B’more thing) would have helped create the Def Jam brand that it once was? Crazy man. Hope he iight. Grill talk (c) BKiller
@ Billz- yeah, K. Liles is most def an icon, and he’s not too uptight to spread the knowledge……personally, I admire the dude (n/h), and I hope all is well…I think it’s just some gastric bypass shit, personally, because the weight loss looks so unnatural….but you never know….
>>***Dude on SOHH’s “Talkin’ Videos†did a review of that joint this morning…he called the Fugees “the Original Nappy Headed Hoesâ€, lol…
====
lmao. Nappy heads gettin’ props everywhere now. It’s gonna be the next trend. Shout outs to everyone else out there though….curly heads, fade heads, hightops, bald heads, dread heads, braid heads (nhoc)
^if not he should be. i remember seeing his cribs episode and he was showing the camera his dvd collection. smh. the cat lost his keys and had to climb over the wall and break into his own house.

^Same shit I was thinkin’ (no ESP… N *lol). Because Al Roker looked the same way when he got the surgery. Personally, I think that shit is a lazy cop out. But, w/e w/e. I guess I’d have be fat with money to understand, lol.

aint pras a homeless fiend now?

^Malarky. Pras was doin’ a documentary in L.A. on homelessness and decided to actually “be” homeless to add to the authenticity. They talked about it on AHH last year but I haven’t heard much about the documentary since then. If it’s still in production or already done, then it should be released some time this year.
What it iz: Plug, 456, G7, Billz, Icon, Cold, 88, Sh*t, Land & all others up in the pizzle dis moanin!
I hope this Marley & KRS project goes over well with the hiphop headz? I think a focused KRS with a little bit the old Criminal Minded mentality could actually deliver a solid album. Marley is like Premo when it comes to be making…no matter how old they get they never loose their touch…
I guess I’d have be fat with money to understand, lol.

Its crazy to have your stomach taken out just to lose weight. Thats all it is. they make there stomach smaller so they will eat less…. instead of eating less. lol. I always wondered what they were using to sow the stomach up since stomach acid can eat through just about any thing…

***Word…that’s some lazy ass shit there….somehow, a lot of those folks put the weight back on, too…i.e., Al Roker, dude from “American Idol”….why not just change your behavior, instead? I can’t wrap my mind around submitting to life threatening surgery, just because I don’t have willpower…I guess that’s the American way…I’ve always been an advocate of willpower….

Centerfield: What bothers me, though, is why are Black people still ashamed to have nappy/coarse hair?
Willie Lynch lives…
^^To some white people generally speaking so called “nappy” hair is just strange to them. True story, I had to stomp this kid out when I was in ninth grade due to a comment about my hair. (strange thing is Im light skinned with slightly straighter hair) I still remember to this day he made a comment about being able to pop a baloon on my hair or any black persons hair for that matter. He thought he could get away with that shit cuz I’m pretty non threatening looking………..WRONG. Mofo didn’t know I’m from southpark, and was trained in boxing by my uncle.

KRS/Marley Marl should be interesting but KRS is faded, man. Rappers have shelf lives, real talk.
^^I agree, but in some cases where real talent existed in the first place, all the some artists need is a spark of motivation to take it back to the early days. I don’t know if this is a true case for Marley & KRS, but I guess we’ll see…

****That was one of X’s best songs, by the way, but I feel u (no Sanjaya)….I have really curly hair, like PR texture, but my shit started to recede like ol boy on “Scrubs” like 2 yrs ago, so I shaved it all off….I refuse to be doing the Richard Jefferson/Ray Allen/Michael Redd thing, where you refuse to acknowledge that the shit’s slipping away, and try to play it off, lol….
I think I stopped buyin em albums after the second or third on. When i heard that song “sometimes i feel like the world’s on my sholders” I was like what the heck. Dude tried to sing and he was serious. I was done at that point
^^^^Em lsot me, when he jacked Rakim, for the chorus, to “The Way I Am”….I never have been an Em fan, so to speak, but I respect his skills and his overall ability to parlay his personal shit, warts and all, into a marketable image….
@ 456– I can’t really argue.. “Encore” was definitely a 4th quarter “Fuck, Game and 50’s albums aren’t ready yet?” rush job. He’s got one more in him tho’. (no “puke”)
@ Big Homie– Peanut or Regular? (no “crazy on you”)
@ Icon– “Scrubs” is friggin’ great. I don’t care how that sounds. (no “evil deeds”)
Lol @ that story. My popz used to have a heavy bag in my grandmother’s basement. Due to the weak foundation, the beams it was hangin’ from was crackin’ the walls so he had to take it down. That shit was fun. Wanna get back into it.
I refuse to be doing the Richard Jefferson/Ray Allen/Michael Redd thing,
——–
lol. I was lookinat ray allen like “come on dog. give it up” Rip hamilton too. them braids ate his hairline up. I lucked out though. Plug Sr. got a full fro. its all grey but I can deal wit that.
Eminem has been battle rapping for most of his career to make a name for himself, but now with all of his success he dosen’t have to anymore! Even though I wish most rappers could make music the same forever, it’ll never be! When the people change, the music changes as well. If you want that old Slim Shady sound, you have to go back and pull out his old material….
I still think he could make a quality album if he suddenly became motivated again. Em needs to partner back up with Royce and do the Bad Meets Evil shyt again actually…

He needs one of two things to happen to get that fire back:
1- Someone high profile sends a dis to him that wakes him up ala Hovito and Nas. Nas would be outta the game right now if it wasn’t for “takeover”. Someone real high f’n profile that gets him so riled about his bullshit over the last 3-4 years that gets him to make another good album and not just annoys him into making 45 mixtape disses. *cough*Benzino*cough*
2- He needs someone the way Dre needed him in ‘98-’99—Someone to inspire him to step his game up, light a fire under his ass (nullus) to make some good shit. That person sure as fuck isn’t Bobby Creekwater or Cashius or Fiddy– Obie could do it, but Obie’s too much of Em’s boy. (no don imus)

In his latest freestyle, “Shame On U,†N.O.R.E. speaks out against his former label Def Jam, where he had been very diplomatic towards them before in past interviews, including his latest one on HipHopGame.
In “Shame On U,†N.O.R.E. says:
“I loved Def Jam, the label was like Heaven/
There was less politics with Lyor and Kevin/
But one thing that disturbed me the most/
Was they didn’t promote LL when LL’s the G.O.A.T./
But we could get a little deep like the ocean/
N.O.R.E., Red and Meth, none of us got promotion/
So I guess I gotta keep it all-American/
N***** ain’t sign us, we only got inherited/
They told me diss the execs, I said, “Hell no, that’s stupidâ€/
They ain’t the reason the label made me look stupid/
I don’t blame them, I blame me/
I knew the n***** at Roc La was lazy/
I love OG Juan, I don’t even blame him/
Tru got a bigger buzz, at least break him!â€
“Everybody has a story to tell,†N.O.R.E. told HipHopGame. “Mines is just always something that all artists and hood n***** can relate to because I tell the truth and speak from the heart.â€
In the freestyle, N.O.R.E. also lets everyone up on the fact that he’s known to end marriages, still managed by Violator, will probably go independent for his next album Global Warming and most importantly, the legendary rapper expressed his desire to “take a shit in the strip club,†although he did not mention diarrhea like Ol’ Dirty did in the original version of “Shame On A N****â€.

Whattup Billz.. on Friday the 13th at 1:13 the thirteen members of the NWI or… New World Initiative will convene at latitude 13 longitude 13 to discuss the 13 objectives to carry out over the next 13 years. They will serve the last 13 dodo eggs in existance thus rendering the species finally extinct.. while listening to “clap and revolve†slowed down to 13 beats per minute. after the meeting is over they will depart on 13 different military helicopters, will black out from the public eye for 13 months and wont speak again for 13 years.
now if you believe half of what you read.. then half of that is potentially true.
@ Billz I remember reading an inteview from Nore. I believe it was over at XXLmag. Didnt he say he and Capone was linking up together to do an album soon? I cant remember.

^Well, he said that Capone hasn’t been the same since he came home and that he would have to wait until Capone get his mindset in order.

lol. Well Eskay posted some clip a few weeks back with some cat doing an interview and he had a hightop fade. Since that clip, days after i saw like three other guys with it. I live near the T-Dot-O
spotrushers, when did KRS say all rap had to be conscious rap. even all of KRS’ records aren’t conscious rap! LOL. seems to me YOU’RE the one revising history. if you give “much respect to krisâ€, don’t put words in hiw mouth. LOL.
^^ he didnt word it like that but his whole attitude these days is fuck the whole mainstream, party and fun shit. and yeah krs used to be on the gangsta tip until his homie scott got murked. after that the hard songs on his albums became fewer and fewer. excuse me but i like a certain amount of ignorance/violence in my rap - the reality/harshness/honesty is what attracted me to this music in the first place.
April 13th, 2007 at 11:00 am
I stop getting fades when haircuts went up to $30! For that kind of money I should atleast get a plate of food or something…
^^Thats why I cut my own hair. Been doing it since I was 13.
@ Nore verse.. N.O.R.E. was always a dude that you felt you could identify with… because you can probably rap as good as him if not better. but there was somethin bout the lefrak dude that you could feel (no cam) he speaks with a conviction that isn’t seen much… and he prolly shined the brightest on “Body in the trunk” .. and while I can appreciate his commentary on the state of def jam and roc la.. cause ninjaz areee lazy. I can’t get behind this statement. “the legendary rapper” whoa whoa whoa… HOLD UP.. legendary? Nahhhh B… people toss words like legend and genius around toooooo freely nowadays.

@ Rey… dude is bananas. He Green Lant’n freestyle had me on the edge of my seat. Also, you should check out your other PR bredren Big Lou. He’s from Camden and he’s been murdering these HHG joints they’ve been posting. I’m listening to one right now called Huster’s Bio. The two freestyles I’ve heard have both been jackin-for-beats joints, just rhymin’ over beats back to back. He’s nice.
boricuas on the set still gets play in clubs here….there’s also a terrible fatman scoop remix or something. im mostly too bent to really pay attention.
Joell a beast.. he been doin it for a minute.. got a track record n pedigree that’s well established. I wonder what the numbers are gonna look like though… this time isn’t good for anyone to come out, much less a new artist. much respect to kris but im not feeling this whole revisionist hip-hop philosophy thats been around for the last few years. they make it seem like hip-hop used to be all about unity, wisdom and knowledge. no it didn’t. hip-hop has always had different aspects and it DID start out as party music. so what we need to embrace is the concept of diversity which includes everything from cannibal ox to common to kool g rap to dipset. if they only played conscious rap on the radio and in the club, i would hate it as much as i hate only hearing that mindless party crunk snap shit. word up.

Yes there are different types of hip hop, but my problem with it today is that no effort is put into the music. Good concepts, skills, and creativity seem to be a thing of the past. At least years ago the people putting out party music, gangsta rap or whatever actually had talent.

Though it has reached the masses and influenced many, it will always be OUR (read: brown minorities, and some whites sprinkled in [who were mostly graffiti artists, designers, b-boyers and sponsers]) thing.

^Malarky. Pras was doin’ a documentary in L.A. on homelessness and decided to actually “be” homeless to add to the authenticity. They talked about it on AHH last year but I haven’t heard much about the documentary since then. If it’s still in production or already done, then it should be released some time this year.

I like his old freestyles, and the shit he did with the Madd Rapper was classic.
He’s still got it in him. I don’t think he’s “bored” with rap, I think he’s just afraid to make the album he wants to make, to just say names already.
He could probably still whoop 90% of the game right now, and the ones that could hang with him battle/beef-wise are ones he wouldn’t dis anyway.

I didn’t mind “hailey’s song” singing Eminem, you can’t fault a man for singing to his little girl, but the singing on Encore was just too much..
As for his gangster-ness, that’s him getting Caught Up (no urrrssshhherrr) in all that initial G-Unit nonsense. (be gentle, 2x–just making a point).
Dude’s smart, and he’s made some good music, but IMO he’s gotta make up for Encore.
April 13th, 2007 at 10:28 am
Eminem has been battle rapping for most of his career to make a name for himself, but now with all of his success he dosen’t have to anymore! Even though I wish most rappers could make music the same forever, it’ll never be! When the people change, the music changes as well. If you want that old Slim Shady sound, you have to go back and pull out his old material….
I still think he could make a quality album if he suddenly became motivated again. Em needs to partner back up with Royce and do the Bad Meets Evil shyt again actually…

Matter fact, you know what Em needs?

^True, true. I meant to say Diane but couldn’t think of it. Yo, this one cat had this brush with the ill Asian design/painting on the back of it. I actually thought about starting that as a business. Just coppin’ plain wooden brushes and having one of my artist homies/shorties do designs on them and sell them. Split the profits 50/50.

They will serve the last 13 dodo eggs in existance thus rendering the species finally extinct.. while listening to “clap and revolve” slowed down to 13 beats per minute. after the meeting is over they will depart on 13 different military helicopters, will black out from the public eye for 13 months and wont speak again for 13 years.

In the freestyle, N.O.R.E. also lets everyone up on the fact that he’s known to end marriages, still managed by Violator, will probably go independent for his next album Global Warming and most importantly, the legendary rapper expressed his desire to “take a shit in the strip club,†although he did not mention diarrhea like Ol’ Dirty did in the original version of “Shame On A N****â€.

spotrushers, when did KRS say all rap had to be conscious rap. even all of KRS’ records aren’t conscious rap! LOL. seems to me YOU’RE the one revising history. if you give “much respect to krisâ€, don’t put words in hiw mouth.
