Heres the verdict, Wayne is overated. But I wonâ€™t deny that he is a decent rapper. I mean some of his rhymes are fire. He is a decent lyricist. But in todays game the bar is set at such a low level that anyone can be a decent lyricist. None the less the carter 1/2 had a few good tracks on both albums. But he is an inconsitent artist, lets just say heâ€™s a mediocre rapper that drops very good tracks from time to time.

Oh yeah, and wack or not, wayne doesnâ€™t have a ghostwriter. I mean Gillie wrote carter 1. Thats a fact. Another fact is that Carter 2>Carter 1 lyrically, and Gillie said himself he didnâ€™t write for the carter 2.

Baby never got nice. lol. I wouldn’t call Wayne’s transition to a more east coast rap style and his improved lyrical ability something that happened overnight. I mean it was a gradual change in lyrics, etc. He was influenced by alot of east coast niggas, including Gillie and most of all Hov, so I think he just ran with that.

It gives the rappers artistic freedom and the music ends up sounding better. Latin Hip Hop artists(not reggaeton) like Orishas, Tego, and Calle 13 are making the type of music that people could relate to not songs about their ice and cars. From what I’ve heard in other countires more people actually know about the history of rap and appreciate it.

I grew up in New Orleans. Wayne sat in the background when he was younger to Juve and B.G. while they blew up. Now Weezy is seeing the recognition he deserves for his years of dedication to Cash Money and hip-hop as a whole. I think he is the best rapper alive, period. Rap is a lot more than lyrics. There are plenty of other rappers that are hot and he works with most of them. Look at the remixes he’s been on and the mixtapes with Juelz, or DJ Drama, the Sqad Up shit he did, shit with Khaleed, old shit with Cash Money, before and after the Hotboys, whatever…I mean come on, the dude is sick. If you think he’s overrated, go make somethin better. End of story. I’m out.
