4 gun deaths in 11 hours push ’07 total to 94

Gunmen don’t seem to take the weekend off.
Four people, including a mother, are dead after five shootings in less than 11 hours.
The latest homicide, the city’s 94th for the year, occurred shortly after 3 this morning, police said.
A man, 29, was shot in the stomach and chest in the 1300 block of West Jerome Street in North Philadelphia. He died less than an hour later after being taken to Temple University Hospital.
His name was being withheld pending notification of kin.
Last year, the homicide count was at 73 as of March 25.
In homicide 93, Javon Smith, 20, was shot at least four times - in the shoulder, arm and back - at about 11:40 last night. He was pronounced dead a minute after midnight at Temple, according to police spokeswoman Elizabeth Skala.
The shooting occurred in the 3400 block of 17th Street in Northwest Philly. He lived a block away, in the 3500 block.
Police this morning also released the name of a victim of one of two fatal shootings yesterday afternoon.
Keith Hurst, 28, of the 2800 block of North 22d Street, was shot in the head and back about 5:15 p.m. in the 2500 block of West Seltzer Street in Northwest Philadelphia.
He was pronounced dead just before 6 p.m. at Temple.
Police had already identified the mother of four who died in a Southwest Philadelphia shootout yesterday afternoon.
Jovonne Stelly, 28, was shot in the head yesterday on the 5800 block of Pentridge Street near Cobbs Creek Parkway in Kingsessing.
She was pronounced dead at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
