My whole thing about rioting is that there is NEVER any follow up. I understand that there is a place for disruption, but I would like to see more organization. With Hip Hop we just had more emcees that were aware of what was going on and they were more proactive. The difference is that these current artists have more power. ^Yoooo… I played Heads High a TON of times and used to anticipate when the video was coming on. That’s around the time when Beenie Man, Diana King, etc. was rulin’ the 90′s and I started gettin’ into reggae on a regular. I’m surprised you haven’t heard “My Crew, My Dogs”, it was madd popular. You probably just don’t recoginize it by song title but I’m sure you’ve heard the song. See, the analysis began with Queen Latifah. It was about how she had rave reviews for the movie Bringin’ Down the House. Remember… she was the “queen” of her era and she stood for the empowerment of Black people, especially Black women. She was considered an icon (no iCon) of that time frame. Well, when it came to movie parts that were available to her, why are all the roles either subservient or stereotypes (Bringin’ Down the House… servant… Set it Off… lesbian bank robber… BarberShop 2… mouthy, greedy… etc)? The role that she played in Chicago is barely talked about and most don’t even remember.

Same thesis applies to Ice T. It’s a way of emasculating him after years of fighting the “powers that be” through his music and gainin’ world wide attention for his rebellion. The gov’t (and those that control it) saw this as a threat and wanted him shut down immediately. So you’re tellin’ me that of all the roles available on primetime that the only ones available are those of a cop? Some would say that it’s purely coincidental and ironic, but I’ve seen done over and over again. They picked Muhammad Ali to light the torch (a Masonic symbol, i.e. Statue of Liberty) at the Olympics after years of him fighting the oppression of America and gaining the respect of nearly every Brown person of various ethnic backgrounds across the globe.

In a gunshell, it’s basically their way of makin’ those icons/legends apoligize for what they did.

Master writer in all genres, Sophia Stewart began her journalism career in her hometown of New York. As a highly intelligent and creative young child, she had prolific writing skills. He was one of many who encouraged her and later became a friend and mentor. At this time, she worked as the West Coast correspondent for a national publication based in New York City. As a result of this affiliation, Ms. Stewart met and made many important contacts in the entertainment industry, which inspired her to keep her dreams and goals alive.

By the early 80â€™s she had started writing professionally. It was through her association with the entertainer Janet Jackson that she became involved in a special project that enabled her to write her first television scripts entitled â€œMy Special Loveâ€ and â€œBlue Shortâ€. During this period Ms. Stewart also had the opportunity to work at Columbia Pictures in the office of Vice President Dick Berres. It was at Columbia Pictures where Dick Berres supported her aspirations to write and gave Sophia five first draft scripts. One was called â€œFrom Here to Eternityâ€.

Sophia went on to write and develop her monumental epic called â€œThe Third Eyeâ€. Stewartsâ€™ future plans involve a record label, entitled Popsilk Records, and a motion picture production company, Ally Eyez On Me, in reference to God.
