No doubt KC, but the structure of the community does not allow that. Remember, we are not all in the hood any longer. For me, that’s why I can’t look at a lot of these artists the same. With Hip Hop we just had more emcees that were aware of what was going on and they were more proactive. The difference is that these current artists have more power. ^Yoooo… I played Heads High a TON of times and used to anticipate when the video was coming on. That’s around the time when Beenie Man, Diana King, etc. was rulin’ the 90’s and I started gettin’ into reggae on a regular. I’m surprised you haven’t heard “My Crew, My Dogs”, it was madd popular. You probably just don’t recoginize it by song title but I’m sure you’ve heard the song. Then again… the song goes by the name “Chi-Chi Man” according to some website I just went to, so maybe that’s more familiar.
