i saw a commercial for the new def jam video game last night.. they were playing we fly high as the theme music. i found that odd.
^^The brand name “Def Jam” (anything outside of the record label) is owned by Russell, Lyor & them I think…but that is still pretty odd.

^^Yes. I actually enjoyed it better than I originally thought. I like movies that have a little bit of substance. I thought Sam did his thing in there too. I think the previews concentrated too much on the chained up white woman, and not the true point of the story itself.

^^Ok, I understand your point. That’s Hollywood though. I think if the movie had of gone any further with those subjects it would gotten a NC-17 rating or something. It already has an R rating as it stands now. I hope when the DVD finally drops there will be an unrated version that goes a little further into those tabu areas. Honestly though, by Hollywood standards on 2007, I am shocked that they showed as much as they did.

^^Ok, I understand your point. That’s Hollywood though. I think if the movie had of gone any further with those subjects it would gotten a NC-17 rating or something. It already has an R rating as it stands now. I hope when the DVD finally drops there will be an unrated version that goes a little further into those tabu areas. Honestly though, by Hollywood standards on 2007, I am shocked that they showed as much as they did.

^^beloved was beautifully written (by toni morrison). it’s one of my favorites. plus, the story line (woman killing her child rather than letting it go through slavery) is something that really happened.
