George Lopez’ Comedy Central joint was funny. But that’s the only Mexican comedian that I’ve ever laughed at. Dane Cook is better than 90% of what’s poppin’ right now, hands down. And Louis CK is somewhere in my top 10. I think his show got cancelled but it’s definitely worth coppin’ on dvd. I watched the Big Black Comedy show last week and that shit was horrrrrrrrrible. How many times are we gonna regurgitate the same routines. But there are a few: Kevin Hart, Tony T. Roberts, Tony Rock (sometimes), and that’s all I can think of as far as new Black comedians.

I know I probably don’t have a place in this convo, but my honest believe is that nas’ line about jews stickin together and blacks not is absolutely true. You have alot of powerful and successful black people now. You also have hiphop which is a major outlet to reach inner city youths. But most successful rappers and so called role models just talk. they become totally self absorbed in themselves and any truth to what they say is never followed by action. In order to bring a specific group of people to a higher status, the one’s that are ahead of the rest need to constantly pay it forward. and not with money, but with knowledge. Most kids i grew up with became nothing because they were taught to expect nothing, myself included. But put yourself in a suburban white neighborhood and its a completely different scenario. They are bred to think the world is their oyster. I’m not tryin to tell anyone what their race/belief system/etc. should do, but you have to educate your own to be succesful if you want them to do so. just my two cents.

i might have been to 2 or 3 comedy shows in my life. most recent one was comedy cellar maybe 2 or 3 years ago. chappelle came through while he was still on hiatus. none of us could believe it. killed the first 5 minutes. then went on to talk for over an hour. high as all hell. ended the set with “alright, nothin left to talk about. thanks for comin out”. still one of my favorite moments.

i feel sorry for black women because in their quest to be embraced by mainstream america they’ve lost their queen status to white women.
white bitches are the ones falling in love and having kids while all the

their whole life revolves around status and money.

^^ I’m the exact same way Land. Although I myself was born to a single teenaged mother, I think it affects men and women much differently. I have a female friend that the only reason we never hooked up is that I’ve know how she was raised, (in a home full of single very bitter women) I’ve seen how she cannot function within a normal male/female relationship, and view such a relationship as a constant power struggle.

^If she’s not materilistic, the what other reasonable, logical reason could there be? Does she feel she’ll be unfit? Is she scared of responsibility? Is there a mental/emotional scar that hasn’t been dealt with? From husslers on the street, to dentists with their own practice, I’ve NEVER met a Black man that didn’t want to continue the legacy. Yeah, we caught up doing dirt and jailed for it. But who do you think that was for… US? NO. We did that to support families. i notice that this is how it is at the beginning or every decade and by the end of each decade black people are together and its the same over and over again. some crisis happens at the beginning of every decade:
1930’s=depression
19040’s=ww2
1950’s=communism/civil rights
1960’s=cuban missle crisis/civil rights

1980s=terrorism drugs/racism
1990’s=crime/poverty/terrorism

^Totally agree. I sympathize with dark skin women to the extreme. Sometimes I walk by a darkskin sista in the mall, or where ever, and can almost feel the low self-esteem oozing from her venacular. That’s why for the most part, I try my best to build up certain women. And yeah… tear down the other ones. They need it.
