And how did Willie the Kid get a solo?

no, i said martin and luther, big and pac. i didn’t say them in the same breath, nor was i comparing them. second of all, i only said it in regards to what nas said about wanting to do it like them or something.
it doesn’t even matter if i said them in the same sentence, they’re presently all together anyway, whether it’s dead, shot dead in the street or in my sentence

the bad thing about jeezy, and jeezy fans, is that he has more haters than fans, thank god, but he knows that. so when he makes albums or mixtapes he has one or two songs addressing them. his fans, on the other hand, being the whippersnappers they are, think that everyone should love jeezy (THAAAAAT’S RIIIIGHT) and use the songs he makes for the haters as proof that haters are acting predictably cuz jeezy predicted like some jeenius. dude is ass, everyone knows it wake the fuck up. if you like him, fine, but seriously shits disgusting b. i don’t wanna hear it, especially not in a styles p thread. when you come hear, check that shit at the door. england and eskay, i’m looking in your direction.

I never said or read any comments with other ppl sayin others should love much less like Jeezy. U need to stop with ur false exaggerations.
I mentioned Jeezys name once in direct reference to track 18. Styles P. - Enemy Of The State ..I didnt just throw his name into the thread out of the blue..I understand u dont like Jeezy and tons of ppl don’t but hearing Styles on I Luv It I thought about how that beat itself really isnt shit and that Jeezy on it actually makes it a nicer track. He complimented the production and vice versa so I said I Luv It without Jeezy = Garbage and since I know how much it bothers u I just said it again..get over it
I’m not even a big fan of that track. Like I said I think the track is whatever thats why I dont even know why Styles is on that damn instrumental to begin with.

^In general, always pay attention to hints and signs. No matter how subtle or prevalent, there are usually warnings of rain before the storm come. I’m a MAJOR advocate of that theory because it has steered me away from trouble on numerous occassions, often times saving my life. I grew up as only child in a small family and didn’t have the privilege of older siblings, cousins, or extended family watchin’ my back all the time or steering the wheel. So to make up for that, I guess God blessed me with a 6th sense that allowed me to judge other’s character accurately to avoid unneccessary harm. I’m sure the troubles you are enduring right now are because of someone elses intent. Honestly, 2006 has been the worst year for me in my 25 years of breathing: financial binds, women issues, run-ins with the law, 9 to 5’s stressin, death of a family member and of a friend’s grandmother. But it could have been worse if I didn’t open my eyes to messages the God were sending via the mishaps. Take your strife in stride and learn from your experiences. And may God bless you with a more prosperous future…

^You’d be surprised about how many signs God puts in your direction. There are no such things as coincidence, everything happens for a reason. Sometimes the person being taught the lesson is not even the person that was involved. But insight was provided to the person who witnessed it.
Case in point: I was gettin’ speed warnings and tickets like crazy this year (I think I explained the one about the cop who pulled me over and I had the out of state license). Anyway, I had already lost a family due to a car accident. One night as I was leavin’ this chicks graduation party, I was about to cross this green light but had already decelerated because I didn’t wanna draw attention from a could-be cop. Thank God I did because some dude had ran a red light and tried to buss a hard right and flipped over right in front of me. A few seconds earlier and I wouldn’t be here to tell you this…
On a lighter note, He also let me meet people that I thought I would have never met. They were mostly people who happen to give me advice on my career and life choices. These people had already did major things and were just lending a helpin’ hand.

@ty honestly that album had to grow on me, it wasnt untill I listened to it in the whip that I really LISTENED to what Nas was saying. Off top I usually listen for a beat to grab me then I check for the lyrics. So I listen and i’m not so amused be any track cept one at first. I wish he never reused that sample from SD. Once I put it in the whip thats when I realized the shit he was on. All in all HHID is a classic in that untapped realm of grown man Hip Hop. The Second of its kind.

^hhid is growing on me at a fast rate!! I think the term classic is thrown around too loosely these days though. I think its because us as fans want one so bad cuz most of the shit out is weak these days. Time tells whether an album is classic or not, but i think hhid could be on its way.
December 22nd, 2006 at 10:08 am
Steve Rifkind gave them the best deal ever known to a rap group. Recording group Wu albums under Loud and allowing them to get solo deals wherever else they wanted. It’s not until recently that artists in groups are taking advantage of indie labels like Koch (Sheek). I’m surprised that Jimmy I. let Joell Ortiz do a major AND indie. Dre must really be pullin’ some strings over there.

icebergs verse of the day
See I was — born in sewage, born to make bomb music
Flow tight like I was born Jewish
Used the streets as a conduit - I kept arms
38 longs inside my mom’s Buick
At any given moment Shawn could lose it, be on the news
Iron cuffs - arms through it; or stuffed with embalmin
fluid
Shit, I’m goin through it - mom dukes too
Tears streamin down her pretty face, she got her palms to
it
My life is gettin too wild
I need to bring some sort kinda calm to it
Bout to lose it; voices screamin “Don’t do it!”
It’s like ‘93, ‘94, bout the year
that Big and Mag dropped; and “Illmatic” rocked
outta every rag drop, and the West had it locked
Everybody doin ‘em, I’m still scratchin on the block
like “Damn; I’ma be a failure”
Surrounded by thugs, drugs, and drug - paraphenalia
Cops courts, and their thoughts is to derail us
Three time felons in shorts with jealous thoughts
Tryin figure where your mail is, guesstimate the weight you
sellin
So they can send shots straight to your melon; wait!
It gets worse, baby momma water burst
Baby came out stillborn, still I gotta move on
Though my heart still torn, life gone from her womb
Don’t worry, if it was meant to be, it’ll be — soon

^KC does get better the more you listen to it, but I still think the whole grown thing he did is a bit overrated. I think the Black Album is a better mature album than KC. “And i don’t wear jerseys I’m thirty plus
Give me a crisp pair of jeans nigga button ups”….What more can I say along with, Allure, December the 4th, Moment of Clarity….etc are mature and better than the mature songs on KC.

Nas’ thoughts on his album selling….
“I just like to hear that people are liking it and I don’t [need] to know what [the sales numbers] are. I don’t care,” the rapper told AllHipHop.com after leaving a promotional date on MTV’s TRL video countdown show.
I wish there were more artists talking like that. Majority of hiphop fans today seem to be too fixated on sales, and judge albums by it.
December 22nd, 2006 at 11:15 am
Jay=most consistent classic material although PE and KRS/BDP have been very consistent with classic material. Yes, I said PE and KRS/BDP. If everybody can still keep screaming BIG and Pac even though they are dead then these legends still need to be mentioned in these arguments. Let’s keep it real; PE and KRS/BDP have more hits that BIG and Pac combined. They have contributed way more to the genre and they are still recording. The reason people won’t agree is because Pac did movie, had videos in heavy rotation and got alot of spins across the country. The reality is:

THE REASON WHY I WONULDNT AGREE WAS CAUSE GHOSTFACE WAS NEARLY AS INSIGHTFUL AND DIDNT HAVE NEARLY AS MUCH IMPACT ON PEOPLE, PAC INFLUENCED HIP-HOP MORE THAN ANYONE OF OUR GENERATIONS I LOVE GHOSTFACE ( NO WAYNE AND BABY ) BUT HIS SONGS DON;T HAVE THE OVERALL IMPACT PAC DID
THAT IS ALL CAUS EI DAMN SURE AINT GETTING SUCKED INTO THIS TODAY
( HAS ANYONE ACTUALLY LISTENED TO THIS STYLES MIXTAPE YET, I DL’D IT BUT I’M STILL REVIEWING THE YEARS ALBUMS ? )

clipse is whats really good but would they be better or worse without the neptunes like i wonder how they would be with like dr. dre or somebody
December 22nd, 2006 at 12:03 pm
I hear you Ty and yeah, I don’t want to get sucked into this today, but Pac’s influence may be because of the movies, videos and spins. It depends on who you are and what you look for in music.
December 22nd, 2006 at 12:04 pm
… Pac’s influence was not neccesarily a good one … and for that, he loses points in my opinion …
… Ghostfaces 5% , Islamic motif > Pac’s Thug-Life imagery …
