If that is true about the release date, then it’s possible he could be keepin’ The Growth music for another label. I don’t think he wants to have the Roots/Meth effect, especially after he struggled to go gold on his first LP due to lack of promotion, surgery, and “took off the Roc The Mic tour / guess somebody thought Joey would rock the mic more”

i think, like icon said, some people have that need to attention chip embedded in them. But even HBO has its limits. The mentality is a lot more wilder than the calm Marlo. Even though I’m happy that we’re gettin’ exposure and that they’re filiming on location, it’s still watered down a lot. Even the director said that on one of those On Demand interviews. It’s impossible for him to capture the pure essence.

Speaking of Baltimore, after watching the season finale of “The Wire” this week, I wrote up an extended rant about the show and how much it means to me — both as a writer and a human being — and how I believe it’s the most important show of my lifetime, how I can’t remember being more attached to four TV characters than the four school kids from Season 4, how I simply can’t fathom why more people wouldn’t give it a chance … but it ended up sounding too preachy, so I’m just going to say that it’s my favorite TV show of all-time and leave it at that. Name another show that could peak during a season in which its best character (McNulty) basically disappeared for 12 of the 13 episodes? How is that possible? What a show. I miss it already.
(One more “Wire” note: I have a friend named Brad who’s famously crusty, a grizzled Giants fan who blurts out whatever he thinks and refuses to edit himself. He’s also the biggest “Wire” fan alive. So we’re watching football with the boys one Sunday and somebody in the room mentioned how they weren’t watching “The Wire.” Uh-oh. Brad turns to the guy with complete contempt and says, “If you aren’t watching ‘The Wire,’ the government should be forced to come to your house and repossess your television. END OF STORY!” They should use that quote on the posters for Season 5.)

This one day when I was in Downtown, there was this homeless dude harassing folks. Eventually the cops came to calm him down. The homeless guy starts to go into rage upon the cops arrival and stands in the middle of the street during heavy traffic and starts repeating over and over that “The End is NIGH……The End is NIGH”.
Well suffice to say the law men did not appreciate that at all. They tasered the guy then pinned him to the ground to hall his crazy ass to county.
Other bystanders looked perplexed and saddend by this strange turn of events. But being the “schadenfreude” that I am, I grinned and laughed with great enjoyment at all of the events that took place.

The word Andy used was “accoutrement” meaning accompanying items. It’s French, and in the native language would be pronounced “uh-COO-tray-mawn”. Definitely big nerd points for dropping that in casual conversation…water cooler talk no less.
