First off, Jeezy is a terrible rapper, I love that thugged out shit as much as the next man, but when thats all you talk about, you should at least be a little clever, he says the same shit over and over. The clipse can ryme flawllessly and they mostly talk about selling drugs, but it semms like they put effort into their verses. Jeezy just plain cant hang, fuck him, and while we're at it fuck all that trap, snap, crunk, bullshit. It's like a modern minstrel show. The white dude is still rapeing black culture (I'm white by the way) and major label heads could give a shit if people are dying over whos harder, they are making loot hand over fist, on the back of these amos and andies, where is public enemy, x-clan, sister souljah, and even rage against the machine when the world needs them. Hip Hop is dead, and its the fans that killed it

Why niggas care so much? If I'm makin my money off of my music...fuck what the next nigga says. As for Nas; who is he to dictate something that he didn't create anyway? Hip Hop is about expressing how you feel and what you think; whether it be money, drugs, emotion or anything. It's music...just another form of free speech. Correct

I am still trying to understand what “first week numbers” have to do with the vitality of an artform.

Hip hop isn’t dead, but when most of the “artists” (and I use that term loosely) are more concerned with the first week numbers than the art that they produce, we have a serious problem. Why is it so cool to be proud of the fact that you are more a hustler/ trapper than rapper? If that is the case, then go back to hustling.

This is not a geographic critique. Real artists always garner respect, regardless of where they hail from. The issue is that we have too few people interested in actually being artists. Folks just see hip hop as a means to the dollar. Hip-hop is not the hustler’s retirement home.

I love hip hop. I dont want the artists I listen to to brag about making a song in two seconds. That doesn’t impress me. I dont want to hear artist who dont consider themselves such.

Hip hop is certainly not dead, but the critique was very timely.
and very necessary.

WHEN DID IT BECOME COOL TO FEED INTO BEEFS THAT ARE GENERATED BY WHITE MEN IN BOARDROOMS TO CUT THE COST OF ACTUALLY PROMOTING AN ARTIST?

" TO CUT THE COST OF ACTUALLY PROMOTING AN ARTIST?"
" TO CUT THE COST OF ACTUALLY PROMOTING AN ARTIST?"

WHEN DID HIP HOP BECOME A 16 OR YOUNGER ONLY AUDIENCE?

WHEN DID TALKING ABOUT THINGS GOING ON THE WORLD BECOME IRRELEVANT?

WHEN DID IT BECOME HOT TO HAVE YOUR AD LIBS BE HOTTER THAN YOUR LYRICS?
===============
Reading this I felt like i was at a Methodist Church BK listening to a HIP HOP revival sermon.

CARPEMUNDAS SAID..
"what bugs me about hip hop is the high number of superficial artists."

^ True Stories........I think that's what Nas meant......Before, all types of Hip Hop tracks were played..........From NWA to ATCQ..... there was Rakim, but there was also Biz Mark.....there was Run DMC and the FAT BOYS......knahmean??......We had tracks like "Road to the Riches'"...........and tracks like "PICKIN' BOOGERS".......We had tracks like "Jeep Ass N***uh" and tracks like "Can I kick It"........it wasn't just about actin' hard, hittin' up the club with my gat by my side not at the car, I got the biggest bank roll so that means I'm the best.........knahmean???......And I know that there are artists out like LUPE, Common, Talib...........but they don't get burn on the radio the way the NON-SENSE gets played.........Where are the NEW LORDS OF THE UNDERGROUND at????.......ahhhhhh....they rather listen to "Does ur Chain Hang Low".......

"On a Scale of 1 to 10, I'm like a hundred fifth eleven"......-MR. FUNKY

Malcolm X say it best, "ignorance is worst than poverty" What type of message is he trying to send to kids i was thinking about buying his album, but after hearing what he said about Nas I cannot support ignorance. Nas is not street because he was not shooting anyone, not selling drugs or been to prison. how ignorant can you get. these ppl should not be representing hiphop . look how long Nas has been in the game.
the grammy nomination came out the south is suppose to be ruling hiphop , but this is the first year in a long time that hip hop is not in the major category best song best album or record of the year. Nas is right hip hop is dead ignorance and cooning is alive

jjrs,

a. monie love is not a bitch.
b. jeezy acted like a bitch by not listening and letting his emotions play him
c. nas has repeatedly said that this is not directed at the south, so by bringing nas' street cred into the situation it made jeezy look even more like an emotional bitch, because it had absolutely nothing to do with what the conversation was about.
d. i hope the pass you're giving is a bitch pass cause that's the only one jeezy's getting. the inspiritation is ::meh::
