Cam is still not talking to D.C. cops over his shooting, and according to this article he has an album dropping next month? They probably have him confused with Jimmy, who I see corrected the misspelling of ‘environment’ on his album cover.

Weezy facing charges after he makes it rain at Morgan State. UPDATE: Video of the melee available here.

Lloyd Banks dismisses the notion of beef between G-Unit and Dipset and Papoose claims we’ll see The Nacirema Dream in January in this week’s Mixtape Monday.

Busta is due in court today to answer to those allegations that he beat up a kid who spit on his car.

Steve Irwin’s manager is mad with Ras Kass for using the old Stingray metaphor on Game in his new dis.

Ghostface Album Coming In December?

Friday, October 20th, 2006

ghost-jay.jpg

There’s a new message over at the Def Jam website claiming that there will be a new Ghostface LP dropping the day after Christmas:

2006 was a great year for Def Jam Recordings, scoring hit records with Ne-Yo, Rihanna, Rick Ross, and LL Cool J to name a few. However, the year is not over yet…

December brings new albums from Young Jeezy (December 12), Bobby Valentino (December 12), and Ghostface (December 26), as well as the Def Jam debuts from Nas (December 19) and Fabolous (December 19)!

I guess that’s this More Fish project that Wutang Corp. mentioned a few weeks back. Now, I’m pretty sure Fab has already been pushed back to February, so I don’t know who they think they’re fooling with that date.

(If you listen closely, you can actually hear Method Man’s blood boiling.)

UPDATE: Looks like Def Jam is really serious, they sent me some more info:

Ghostface is on a roll. The sequel to Fishscale – the most critically-acclaimed hip-hop album of the year – More Fish is Ghost doing what Ghost does best. On tracks like the blazing “Ghost Is Back” and the new single “Good,” Tony Starks brings you that raw and uncut. Ghost’s crew, Theodore Unit, is heavily featured on More Fish, and his teenage son – Sun God – shines.

I haven’t listened to this new Ras Kass dis to Game yet, but that accompanying artwork is pretty funny.

Come on now, you guys could have done better than a screen cap from the I Ain’t Mad Atcha video, I mean really.

In related news, the boy Rizoh has the cover to the new Snoop Joint, and more importantly the cover to the Ice-T album I was asking for earlier. Now I just need somebody to find me a high-res copy with Ice-T’s 50 year old ass Photoshop’d out.

Kay Slay vs. Green Lantern?

Who pissed in this guy’s Corn Flakes? I don’t recall ever hearing that these two had beef, but who can keep up anymore. In any event, I think we all know which one of these guys has the real talent and which one just runs his mouth.

Jay is appointed co-brand director for Budweiser’s Bud Select line of premium beers, and enters into a parternship with ESPN to produce a boxing series. He’s also encouraging black American’s to make the pilgrimage to Africa.

After being indirectly mentioned in Jay’s new single and video, Armand De Brignac champagne is wasting no time capitalizing on their sudden high profile.

NYPD Commisioner Ray Kelly is tight over Fab’s shooting, the latest in a long string of violent incidents involving rappers in the city.

I love how this article about Rhymefest going to meet British PM David Cameron paints him as some threatening gangster rapper. Rhymefest? Please stop…

Banks does 143K in his opening week. No comment.

Somebody send me this Ice-T album cover. Like now.

In case you missed VH1′s Hip Hop Honors broadcast last night, Spinemag has a bunch of links to the performances, such as the Rakim tribute featuring Styles P, Black Thought and Kweli.
