     It’s hard to critique this song because of the quality and the beat he freestyles over is too distracting. However, rarely does Jay freestyle though anymore. Most of the time the song he is freestyling mutates into a song proper. I believe this one will be “Most Kings” on “Kingdom Come” which was inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat according to ew.com.

     I will say that while Jimmy sounds like a bum and Dash does sound like Marv Albert meets Kanye on their records, I am not sure it is fair that Jimmy cannot go at Jay. Usually this is because there should be a general respect for Jay, but by doing that it says he is an elder, i.e. old man, which he is what he does not want to be at this point in his career. It creates a double standard because at time Jay wants to be young when it works to his advantage as well some rapper emeritus. Also, while JImmy’s not in a league like Jay, how does a person like Jay stay good or how does his game stay up to par if no one will spar with him? He has become an athlete who does not do much lay-ups (freestyling) or work-outs (battle raps) but wants to light up 60 every night on the scoreboard. I just wonder does is he putting in the work or is he getting spread thin with the game, interviews, and corporate cultures\ (and having a girlfriend is a story in itself). Again I wish there was someone better then Jimmy to defend here and I don’t like Jimmy but I know all artist start somewhere. And I am sure before Jay became an icon he was some hungry kid from Marcy who was 9th on the bench asking someone to pass him the ball.

But on some Michael Jackson shit… (at least, I think that was what he was trying to prove).     The Stronger performance was airtight… having Daft Punk (or were they) up there was the frosting on the cake (sidebar: I need more Jordans in my life), and eskay tells me Stronger already one something (WE MAJOR!). Now I’m still realizing how impeccably hard Graduation really was, but fuck my life @ the Hey Mama performance…which was definitely the coup de grace. I pussied out of dropping my “Chi-State of Mind, Lost My Momma, Lost My Mind” post but I do not know how he pulled that off, and probably have been pulling it off all over Europe.     I say that to say this… KanYe and P. dropped this poster last week, and I have everyone asking me when the dates/places are, because I would usually know this shit… and I find myself not wanting to look for it because I know that nobody ever comes to Montreal. Now, if ever the Tour goes well, and Rihanna makes it rain on KanYe or whatever she does to people… and the power’s that be decide to add a leg to the end of the tour… and if, let’s say those powers are reading this, they really need to hold me down. I can bring 1 or 2 thousand of my friends but the rest will already be lined up for tickets and shit. Anyway, fuck the bartering, I’ll probably just hitchhike my way to the Air Canada Center or Madison Square Garden shows, but still… doesn’t hurt to ask. But back to the topic at hand… that Hey Mama tribute was amazing. My moms was damn near in tears when he was hunched over. He took what had happened on stage at Europe, focused that energy, and re-invested in what he thought would be creatively awesome… and it truly was.
