  132. Paperstacker Says:

Honestly…. Yall know this shit is average.. Jay lost it, still releaseing pop shit like this with average lyricism. Yall niggas are so obsessed with Jay that he can release a wack ass single and you’ll still stay its crack.

If Nas released this bullshit u know u would have said its wack cause u would have expected him to come with some better shit.

Thats the thing, after Jay dumbed down his shit people cutting him alotta slack, however if Nas doesnt release something thats equal to Ilmatic, Stillmatic, etc type songs u say its wack..

why are they wack, cuz wrecks n effectx used them? if you wanna get technical, they’re actually Public Enemy horns, so are they still wack? I mean come on.

    @ eskay..

come on man.. Even if wrex n effex didnt use that sample first, mad people know that shit and associate it with that song..

Im just saying, hate it or love it, I think part of making a dope beat is finding a sample nobody else has used in the first place, unless its a certain exception and the new beat flips the sample better..

Jay does this for familiaraty, like 03 bonnie and clyde, everyone all ready knew that sample from the pac shit..

now everyone knows this one from the rump shaker joint.

a few (old heads) will reckognize the PE shit, but lets be real Eskay, youre typical TRL fan and radio listener will..

they prolly wont reckognize the rump shaker shit either though..

But that sample has been tainted..

its not even that hot.. either way, the song isnt hot..

    now..

as far as you wondering why people would want a nas single??

you cant even be serious, I know youre smarter than that, and this is all part of your act..

You love to use Nas to help you either make Jay Z look good or Bad..

Unfortuantly, even though Jay sells more records, Nas is not his puppet and NAS has TONS of loyal fans around the world, many who would even regard him as THE GOAT.. Nas has made countless amounts of great songs and timeless music..

His influence is felt by every rapper in the game, Even your HERO Jay Z..

there’s some food for thought eskay, you do the dishes.. (c) your alpha and omega..

  463. Cut In Front Says:

    I rep San Diego everyday.

The best thing I can say about this song is that it is more evidence that Jay-Z has by far away the best flow in all of hip-hop history. He can ride any beat, any style.

I’m sorry, but this is by far the worse Jay-Z “hey girl” song. And I really dug those Neptune tracks off Blueprint 2 and Black. “Fuck All Nite” = classic. These verses aren’t nearly as good as the ones off Beyonce’s new album, which were incredibly underrated just because it was Beyonce.

I wanna hear this at a party. Sounds slow enough and with enough cues it might be better off at a house party (which we still do out on in the West), not exactly an instant club classic like Luda’s “Money Maker” and “Girls Gone Wild”

You know, there might a better version on the album, it seems like some of the levels need to be adjusted on the horns. Especially on that 2:30 verse it is kinda hard to hear Jay.

Anybody who doesn’t consider this the most anticapted album of the rest of the year after the big name rock bands dropped Oct. 3 (four major groups, one day, the first day for 2007 Grammy consideration), then you are kidding yourself. Maybe the Game might be challenging with his two major hits and publicity stunts. We all know Dre is going to be on the album, fuck I have a song where doesn’t just produce, he spits a verse.

I think with it hitting this early we can expect the second single a couple weeks after the album drops. That would be the two month after this video premier, and be damn near the time that Nas albums drop. On second thought…

  464. Cut In Front Says:

Okay, I’ve after the fourth, fifth listen, I can really see this being a house party hit, especially after it gets major airplay and everybody knows the cues.

    House Parties > Clubs

Pros: More personal, you know half the people already, make your own mixes

Cons: Drinks are far worse than clubs. Bud Select or anything hard outside of it’s own bottle is like a diamond in the coal.

Nas can step out of the boundaries, Jay is still making the same type of singles since Vol. 1. NaS will get on a Damian Marley song and they’ll shoot a video for it. Jay will put out something for the clubs.

@Ill Change- I co-sign this and everything else you said about Jay’s singles vs Nas’. Well said.

i’m thinkin’ of coppin’ this, but then i remembered i was gonna buy The War Report when i got a chance. i’m not cakin’ like that right now. definitely gonna check for Buck’s shit. Chronic 2006 and his Gangsta Grillz mixtape is fire. M.O.P. probably wont be out til after Spider Loc (who comes out 2012.)

  535. iLL Change Says:

    >> @Ill Change- I co-sign this and everything else you said about Jay’s singles vs Nas’. Well said.

word, just statin’ what i think is real. if i want somethin’ hood, i’ll cop NaS. if i want some high-energy, poppy, all in the club shit, i’ll cop Jay. might cop both. definitely buyin’ the physical NaS cd tho.

Haha, i doubt they’re gonna release either of them though. If they actually released M.O.P i would cop it’s whatever. I got the Chronic 2006 joint but i haven’t listend to it yet, i’ve been bumping the Gangsta Grillz joint though, it’s probably the first DJ Drama joint i’ve actually listend to since the Saigon one.

the Gangsta Grillz is probably the only DJ Drama joint i’ve listened to besides the Saigon one. that Chronic 2006 is crazy yo. HEAT. check the joint “Stomp That Snitch” (track 15.) beat is insane.

  545. D.N.(The Kufi Smacker) i'm as ill as a convict who kills for phone time Says:

True, even the track with Yayo ain’t all that bad, i think it’s mainly the beat though.

  546. Samantha Says:

I was so bored with the song, I couldn’t finish it. When I came across that chicken noodle soup > show me what you got comment, I started listening to that song instead.

Shake it, shake it, Harlem shake it.

I’m so tired of people co-singin’ Jay-Z dumbing down his lyrics so that he could sell records, as if he was saying some really deep shit before. IMO, that’s an excuse. That’s like me saying, “Oh, I could hoop like Jordan, but I just don’t want to right now.” Yeah right, nigga.

And anyway, Jay should be established right now, so much so that record sales shouldn’t matter. So what’s his excuse for this trash?

  547. iLL Change Says:

^ yeah, i like the beginning of that “Don’t Make Me Hut You” shit. the drums and everything, it’s real hood, laid back and shit. i bumped that tape thru the hood one night, perfect muzik for that type of shit.

so Jay is gettin’ the FBI to investigate why his single leaked 5 days early? stop snitching Jay. i thought you were a street dude, but now you’ll let the FBI run up in Def Jam and conduct an investigation? that ain’t gangsta. all that “i’ma hustler homie” hustlers dont talk with police. well, maybe while the FBI are there, you can get them to check out who leaked Method Man’s album, The Roots album, Rick Ross’s album, Ghostface album, and that NaS single. and if your not gonna do that, file a missing persons report on Redman and Joe Budden and get the FBI on that case.

Stop talking about ‘singles’ like they comprise some distinct category of music that needs to be evaluated on it’s on.

The album’s going to be good, and you all know it, so please commence the STFUing. Only douchebags are concerned about what gets played on the radio, but all of Jay’s singles are teeniebopper crap yet all of his albums are dank, and we all know both of these things, so let’s stop pretending like we don’t. K?

  617. Menace Says:

the song is aiight. i dont think its classic jayz, its just a diff kinda song. and btw im pretty sure that this leak was ON PURPOSE. come on now…it wasnt like 4 or 5 songs leaked…it was ONE SONG which will prolly be the first single. and funny how the quality is GREAT. no unmastered or low quality songs, full mp3 song come on now lol. and they said everything was on lock and key well then it couldnt have been unpurposely leaked. jayz isnt just an artist, he’s the PRESIDENT of his own label so i doubt anybody over him leaked it. what a publicity stunt.

  621. P o v a Says:

“Jay-z is the most over-rated emcee ever.” Blah, who you think is holding it down then. You cant say hip hop without jay. Simple as that. He picked the ball up and ran with it. Go get yo fix from the so called “street niggas” who still walking around and not in jail for the shit they rap about Pif.

This song is only weak because Jay has done songs like this 10 times or more already. This song would have been hot 6 or 7 years ago, but his formula for releasing songs like this is getting repetitive and tiresome. At this point in his career he should be able to release deeper, more creative songs, but he won’t risk the sales. We’re getting the usual from him though; pop singles and usually good albums. But as a “comeback” song it gets thumbs down!

Let me announce that I love Jay Z. I’m a real fan! On the real, this song is leaving me real bitter. The lyrics are subpar, I think Diddy is spitting harder than this on Press Play. The horns are as annoying as the alarm in B’s joint. This is suppose to be the return, the MJ of recording came back wearing the 45. I’m disappointed, my feelings are hurt, damn. So I suppose you’ll be mad when I go back to snapping my fingers and leanin and rockin wit it? I must sound like a rambling, bitter ex lover by now. Well, hell Jay gotta come harder than that. I feel like he got his, only got a towel for his self, fixed him a sandwich, rolled over, fell asleep, and woke up in the morning and left without saying goodbye. Get the picture??? Just blaze was suppose to set fire. This sh– is boring, I wouldn’t rock to it in my night gown. Who is it suppose to be for? The club, radio, the streets, I don’t think so and it damn sure ain’t for me. I feel so bitter Jay *middle finger raised in the air* Wave to this…bullsh–

I DON’T KNOW IF YOU NOTICED IT BUT THIS BEAT WAS DONE BEORE…

Sorry but this isn’t the first time that samples of these two songs where combined. The first time these two songs where combined in the form of sampling was 1989 on a song called „Soul Food“ by Philadelphias famous Tuff Crew on their legendary LP „Back to Wreck Shop“.
That song is a pure instrumental track with dope cuts by legendary DJ Too Tuff who is highly underrated. You can check the track „Soul Food“ on DJ Too Tuffs myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/djtootuff ).

DJ Too Tuff is currently serving 6 – 22 months at Curran-Fromhold Correction Facility in Philadelphia.

Go to his myspace page and give him some hope by showing a great DJ and a big influence to a lot of DJ’s some respect where it’s due !!!!!!!!!

    Peace
