^^ i would love to see numbers for “real” hip hop albums 10 years ago. i dont think they were selling more numbers, it’s just that rap has snuck into the mainstream and there’s a lot of pop music thats akin to hip hop now, but i really dont think good hip hop albums sell less now than in the 90s for the most part, maybe except for dmx, jay and a couple others in the late 90s but today it’s like TI and 50 who are or used to be dope and sell like crazy
