the video is suspect. I think they tried to have the fireworks with the graphic art to match the beat but it didnt work.

They should have filmed it where he was walking through new york, the whole way through like that one clip in the video, where the camera is in front of him.

  50. iLL Change Says:

haha @ Sour D.’s SI breakdown

  51. iLL Change Says:

the census is in. Lupe’s album is certified not hip hop. it’s some weird rock/R&B/hippie/fake rap shit. what a waste of a disc, there’s maybe 6 good tracks. fucking Pharrell and his organ-grinder “I Gotcha” beat. Lupe wishes he was a gangsta tho, it’s kinda funny.

  52. iLL Change Says:

^ and what’s up wit all these non-descript vocalist motherfuckers dominating the album? who’s heard of half of these knock-offs? shoulda called the fuckin’ album “Homo Duets.”

In fact, remember how New York Undercover used to always open? They would play a hot track the first couple of minutes while they were setting up the storyline for the episode. “Pressure” is the only good track on Lupe Wannabe-Gangsta’s album, and that’s cuz it actually features a RAPPER.

  79. EnglandRepresent Says:

iLL Change : Its all a matter of personal opinion but I think Pusha T and Malice flow savage, them nigs can ride a beat. To me their new joint, if it sounds anything like their first one will be tight.

  80. iLL Change Says:

Jay Willz, what the fuck are you talkin’ bout?

  81. iLL Change Says:

    @ England

if it sounds anything like their first album, it will garbage. the Neptunes dont make any good beats. at least not lately. it will be mediocre from the 3 tracks i heard so far. and you cant make an East Coast classic like they said they would, when you’re from VIRGINIA. they’re not built like that. especially not them + Pharrell. when you have songs named “What It Do” and “Trill”, there is nothing East Coast about your album.

  82. Jay Willz Says:

they need that heat..If they don’t feature on the remix to FRY THAT CHICKEN they will be assed out. 10 records shipped and 3 sold.

“Pressure” is the only good track on Lupe Wannabe-Gangsta’s album, and that’s cuz it actually features a RAPPER.

^^^LOL. Before you said there was 6 good tracks on the album and now you’re saying only “Pressure” is good. And what part of Lupe is a wannabe-gangsta??? There’s a lot of wannabe-gangsta’s out there, but Lupe is definitely not one of them.

  84. EnglandRepresent Says:

Ill : Shit, I don’t know son, the Neptunes beats on their first album was alright to me cos it was still pretty new. Shortly after that every fuckin beat they produced sounded the same but at the beginning when they first started knockin out beats, I liked that whole minimalist, heavy base shit. But puttin that aside I think the Clipse flow sick. But yeah you right about havin a song called ‘Trill’ in your album and claimin you reppin East Coast hip-hop, it don;t add up. But fuck it, as long as the niggas bring it then I’m good, fuck what the song’s on the album are called.

  85. yaboy Says:

yo ESKAY why u block my at work address?? i never pushed the envelope.

    btw.

he called Pharrell “Felonious P” on I Gotcha. Pharrell has never had a felony, but he wishes he runs with thugs. then he gets Jay-Z to talk some violent shit on “Pressure.” he reps Chicago like he gang banged or some shit. you can just tell he wishes he was a G, but he went to prep school in vermont instead and now he’s just bitter. i would love it if Raekwon called him out on that “either they pimps, or they macks, or they mobsters” line. just totally demolish Rollerblades Fiasco.

^ It’s “Thelonious P”, as in Thelonius Monk, the legendary musician. Smh.

    Peace.

  95. PuLsE Says:

oh shit, im glad to see AZ doing his thing!! i been on this song for a minute, the vid kinda sucks, but you gotta love the man, he’s a legend

  96. G7 Says:

he called Pharrell “Felonious P” on I Gotcha. Pharrell has never had a felony, but he wishes he runs with thugs. then he gets Jay-Z to talk some violent shit on “Pressure.”

yo, I think you’re taking his lyrics too seriously pa. I don’t think he meant that Pharrell is a felon literally. Maybe a felon on the beats, but not in a literal sense. Lupe knows Pharrell is as soft as his ice creams. On Pressure it was Jay talking some violent shit, not Lupe. He was letting Jay do Jay. On “either they pimps, or they macks, or they mobsters” line he never referred to himself as being a pimp, mack or mobster. If he did, then there would be a problem.

  97. G7 Says:

I stand corrected. Thelonius. I thought he said that, but Ill Change threw me off.

  98. iLL Change Says:

    whatever, fuck Rollerblades Fiasco.

  99. iLL Change Says:

i dont see why the Clipse are still hangin’ with Felonious P. he’s a faggot, they know it, they just want some beats, and if they leave Star Trak their album will have the same release date as The Growth. if it was DJ Premier, i could see why they would hang around, but Pharrell and Hugo… garbage.

  100. EnglandRepresent Says:

Lupe Fiasco is for niggas with abit of intelligence who ain’t just tryin hear about guns, drugs, bitches etc etc. The nigga is the truth.

  101. iLL Change Says:

    >> The nigga is the truth.

he’s also mad boring to listen to. “flagrantly fragrant… something something… Pepe Le Pew spray… something something…” he doesnt even make sense, he’s talking about how he smells for the first 8 bars. he wants to be a gangster and a prophet at the same time, but he also wants to do BMX biking and play nintendo and learn kung-fu. he’s like 12 people combined into one body. he has a decent flow, but no specific bars will catch my ear if i heard the song on the radio. playin’ Pong in his fucking muzik video, how corny can you get? someone needs to battle this fool and serve him. AZ could wipe the floor with Xtreme Sports Fiasco.

dammit, i really need a wire fan on here. i got some questions that need answerin. i swear nation, they made it all about shit that doesn’t matter, and didn’t address any of the good stuff. how do you shift the focus of a show to how intricate the drug game in baltimore is to how a bunch of sloppy pollacks steal from ships. i’m so fuckin pissed.

  142. nation of moderation Says:

lol some genius codenamed that file i posted up as some hezbollah shit, whereas clinton ethered the fuck outta that fox news pawn

that was pretty good. but still, i dont trust none of them.
and damn, bill clinton coming out and saying he tried to kill bin laden, he “contracted” people to kill him…

  143. EnglandRepresent Says:

Sour D take nation’s advice and watch Little Britain instead, fuckin hilarious.

  144. yaboy Says:

Clinton shittin on fox > most things right now.

  145. spanish jay Says:

how may i help you sour with your “wire” needs

  146. Sour D. Says:

wtf jay. wtf with the whole second season? they didn’t address what happened between omar and the nation of islam dude. they didn’t address all the shit between stringer and avon. all they did was talk about that stupid fuckin pier. what the fuck? big waste of fuckin time.

  147. nation of moderation Says:

    ^ that’s bmore for ya

  148. spanish jay Says:

alot of people said that about season 2…yea it was kinda slow with every one gone, but what 2 lacks 3 makes up for

  149. spanish jay Says:

i dont want to spoil 3 for you but your questions are answered

  150. spanish jay Says:

u have to take season 2 with a “grain of salt”…you can see how middle class economic issues effect every within the city

  151. EnglandRepresent Says:

Anyone know where I can watch The Wire? Youtube?

“i dont want to spoil 3 for you but your questions are answered”

“u have to take season 2 with a “grain of salt”…you can see how middle class economic issues effect every within the city”

i guess i see what you mean. they did set up a ridiculous story for next season. there could be alot of wars and alot of people dyin that you wouldn’t expect. i’ll give it another shot. but straight up, for anyone else who will watch this. just watch the last 4 episodes of season 2 and save yourself a headache.

  153. Sour D. Says:

download the torrent england. but there won’t be any men dressed in drag on the wire. sorry.

  154. spanish jay Says:

ur the kinda of person that reads the last chapter of a novel uh

  155. nation of moderation Says:

    sour

    get familiar

  156. spanish jay Says:

man, if your looking just to see people shot ever episode then the wire might not be for you, but if your lookin for an complex, developed, indepth, unglamourous life in an urban american city than this is the best thing out there

  157. spanish jay Says:

oh yea, avon comes home in season 3 so things have to pick up

  158. Sour D. Says:

“ur the kinda of person that reads the last chapter of a novel uh”

not at all. but really, 70% of that season is irrelevant to the story that i was expecting. they didn’t get into anything. just showed characters. i was mad cause it dealt with shit that had nothing to do with anything. just felt like a big waste of time. i’m sure it will be worth the set up for the next season, but i could remove that shit from my memory now and it wouldn’t make a difference for the future of the show.

  159. spanish jay Says:

no the dock shot for the most part wont be relevant for the season 3 but your missing the point… its not about drugs or cops its about life in baltimore…you get to see how the drugs get here in the first place and who getting rich off that shit

  160. Sour D. Says:

“man, if your looking just to see people shot ever episode then the wire might not be for you, but if your lookin for an complex, developed, indepth, unglamourous life in an urban american city than this is the best thing out there”

see that’s what i loved about the show jay. they got into how genius the minds are behind all the drugs and violence. it’s amazing the shit they think of. all the way down to the hotshots that hit the bin in season 2. i’m so impressed with that shit. but there was nothing interesting to the docks. it was a bunch of middleclass pollacks stealing shit. nothing complex or intricate. just as simple as a couple of idiots robbing shit, and the fuzz going through hell to catch em. they did touch on where all the shit comes from, but didn’t really go into that. they stayed secretive about the greek and gave us barely any info. just alot of shit to watch without any of the answers.

i guess that’s where i made my mistake. i thought it was about avon’s crew and the cops chasin them. that’s where the story was for me. that’s what last season was about. i’m not lookin to this show for an inside view on all aspects on baltimore. i’m lookin for just one, and i got barely anything of it through 12 hours of shows. i mean to each his own, but that shit was retarded. they could’ve made 3 episodes on that and been done with it. the worst part is they didn’t even make those characters interesting. it was fucked up when wallace got clipped, but when sabatka got killed, it was whatever. just feel robbed for my time.

  162. spanish jay Says:

yea its fucked up about wallace and how he couldnt esacpe the game, but if u were the head of the union would u be doing that foul shit too? and yea they stretch shit out too much sometimes but its.all.we.got

  163. dong song in yur neck bitch Says:

    that style is over

  164. EnglandRepresent Says:

download the torrent england. but there won’t be any men dressed in drag on the wire. sorry.

Oh shit really? Well thats fucked it then I won’t bother watchin it.

For real though Sour, have you ever watched Little Britain or just seen a few clips?

I think that entire season went over your head. Not only was it about how serious drugs get into the country, it was also equally about the current state of unions and the blue-collar worker in the country. I mean the very last scene of season 2, showing the aftermath to all the dock workers was pretty amazing and “knock you over the head” blunt about what the season was about. And those guys weren’t middle class.

  166. Game Over Says:

could somebody tell the dude claiming that queens is the illest borough that AZ is from brooklyn? thanks.

in other news, this video is FUCKING HOT. y’all are crazy. the color schemes in this joint are bananas. it’s on some scorcese shit with the cinematography.

    hey smart rap bloggers,

meth is on sony now so why in the hell would def jam be promoting him. meth’s album like all of his other albums is wack and musically dated. and even with promotion do you really think budden would sell ? he’s on the same level as lloyd banks and even his garbage album got pushed back. now redman may deserve another shot. and you guys seem to forget the roots just came out. how many of ya’ll rap purists went and copped that defjam album ? lastly look at dmx’s sales and how garbage that album is. hov should get some credit in not putting that coaster out.
