^^ you need a good balance. that’s why i consider both nas and juelz good rappers ( no im not putting them in the same league…). nas makes up for his lack of charisma with his talent, and juelz vice versa. also it depends on the context, a good studio rapper is not necessarily a good live mc. i’d rather hear mega than m.o.p on record, but when it comes to live shows i’d rather hit the m.o.p. show.

nas also has charisma. he can’t act but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have charisma. in fact both nas and rakim developed a mystique that based in mystery and not letting people know everything. not everybody’s charisma is made for the grand stage. nas, ra are jazz influenced so a dark, smoke filled clubs fits better with their personalities. point being that if you don’t have a style it don’t matter how you flip words or how many punch lines you have you will not be considered one of the greatest. jada is nice and has a little style but listen to him and then tupac. tupac wasn’t as nice as he is lyrically but tupac would eat him alive.
