     The cover is very well done. It reflects Lupe’s personality, his influences and his interests. I don’t think it is meant to impress, but to reflect, as it should. Besides, it allows you a glimpse into the other world of hip hop, the one that holds quality and originality in high esteem, as opposed to the quantity, excess, and violence that mainstream hip hop sells to the masses. The whole point of music is expression and if you do not respect someone for their expression, including how they want to present their cover, then just close your eyes and cover your ears. Hip hop is not about conformity. Criticism is good, but not when it is tainted with disrespect. Also, listen to the music first, then look at the cover again and you will see that they go hand in hand, there is no discrepancy between what the visual reveals and what the music reveals. (P.S. Sorry for being so corny.)
