Word is that MTV banned the video for that "I Got My Vans On" song from Bay Area group The Pack. According to The Pack it’s because MTV felt it was basically an ad for Vans. Haven’t seen it and don’t plan on it, so I can’t call it, but I asked someone from MTV about this and they didn’t know what the fuck I was talking about, so I’m leaning towards publicity stunt. Of course if MTV did ban it for that reason, they need to get a serious grip on reality.

I went to Victoria in Seychelles cause I have family in Tanzania (Zanzibar actually). So I just had to get to Zanzibar and then I said “Why don’t we just go by boat?” my Uncle looking horrified started to say “No no.. noo”
Cause apparently Somalia has a huge pirate problem and if you try to go up the coast, they will get you. So we took a plane from Zanzibar too, even though I was really looking forward to the boat ride up the African coast, sans pirates.
And 2 months just because I own my own business with a partner and we just alternate vacation time(1 goes, 1 stays), albeit this is the longest one I’ve ever taken. And no not a billionaire, but well off.

About the Vans music video from The Pack issue… Wow.
I mean, the music video looks pretty good (not the song), and they probably owe money to their label for that video which looked pricey. From the brand new clothes to the rented hoochies.

They got a few nice restaurants too. On the social tip, hit up Adams Morgan. It’s an area that’s all the way at the end of Florida Ave. They have a variety of bars/lounges and restaurants to choose from. Republic Gardens is nice spot to hit up on Sat. night. It’s on Florida Ave too. Between Georgetown and Adams Morgan there are a bunch of joints to hit up.

yo.. i was in upstate NY on vaca one year and we drove down to alantic city… it was a two lane highway, fairly rural. on way down we drove past this little speed trap.. one cop w/ the radar… maybe half a mile down, 3 cop cars peel out onto the highway and basically block the shit off, forcing cars they wanted off the highway… one cop car goes further down the road, the cop gets out of the car and in the middle of a highway where people were just doing 85+, start to wave people over.
i’m from the yay, so is that a regular occurance over there?

Sour D… Speakin’ of cops, definitely make sure you wear your seatbelt in D.C. Their seatbelt laws are ridiculous and they will pull you over. Also make sure you watch out for speeding cameras. They have on New York Avenue as you enter the city. If the camera clocks you going faster than speed limit in that little zone, they will send a picture/citation to your house just like the red light cameras.

^ That’s one of my favorite movies ever. I have it on dvd and haven’t watched it in a minute. It’s like the epitome of the East Coast hip hop era when you watch it: Cold winters in the projects, Timbs, lumberjacks, multi-colored skullies, etc. Queen Latifah’s “I Can’t Forget NJ” plays at the end which just adds to the nostalgia. NJ Drive is to me what Cooley High is to my popz, lol.

^ I think they’re gonna prepare us for the electric phase. They’ve been testing this whole cars-riding-on-electricity thing for years. Instead of going to the gas station, we’ll probably be pulling to the side to recharge our cars and they will charge us x amount of dollars to do it. Petroleum will still be used but probably for other stuff. You gotta remember that this whole shit about the Greenhouse Effect and global warming is becoming a REAL serious issue, and they have to find some way to counter-act. The pollution is outta hand (especially in major cities like L.A., NY, Houston, Philly, etc). But that’s just my theory.
