Aftermath seems to have a system for producing “quality” albums (thats subject to debate), but hell if that system of quality assurance doesn’t take a long time. Busta’s album took years to come out. Apparently if you are on Aftermath you are gonna have to have some patience.

If Detox is ever released, I guarantee you it will be a classic. If it does not add to Dre’s legacy, then he won’t release it. Which is probably why it hasn’t seen the day of light yet. And you know what, fuck classic, it has to be revolutionary like his last two, it has to show cats what to do next. He is still producing classic beats, but he is probably still looking for the next evolution. He probably wasted the whole violin thing on 50’s first album, they are played out now. My guess is that Detox will be sampling a lot of classic rock. Just peep Obie’s “Wanna Know” and Busta’s “Don’t Get Carried Away”. By the way, Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir” has probably been sampled on dozens of hip-hop tracks, so it is not exactly new.
