^ I totally disagree. That shirt is ill and I might consider coppin’ it by next week if isn’t sold out by then. It’s hot when someone can incorporate art and life into fashion.
July 18th, 2006 at 9:30 pm
Btw, those cats Lemar & Dauley are unruly with the fashion. If yall like that, check out the cat who make the Leroy Jenkins hoodies (ghetto name for a high end brand… genius). http://www.leroyalwithcheez.com The creator hails from Jersey City.
July 18th, 2006 at 9:30 pm
the shirt doesn’t have anything to do with Jay-Z, so i dont understand the point of adding the lyrics.

you’re right, i just heard him say
“i got extra weed,
money long like sleeves”
this is when i ask myself, “do southern rappers actually read what they write/listen to it and think it’s hot? do they ever try to challenge themsleves by coming up with some crazy good lyrics? do they try to imitate complex flows ever?”
July 18th, 2006 at 10:23 pm
Its a JORDAN shirt dickheads, and if your smart enough you can see where he is coming from. He is just stating the obvious, that he has 6 rings with the one finger in the air meaning he is the best. The HOV verse with it is the sibliminal message in it all. Jordan on the court didn’t play games straight giving you the work. Hov is the rap/hiphop version. PPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY””””””””””””””””””SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

I know this doesn’t pertain to the topic at hand but, is anybody here a BET Executive? If so, can you please get that guy off of Rap City. I come back from being out the country and I see some Z-list guy hosting the show.

July 18th, 2006 at 10:29 pm
Back like 45 is just a way of saying that HOV is back, as in I might be rusty but I’m still the best, wait to I get back on my shit and switch back to 23. I swear most of the bros on this sight can’t see past a blunt and a nice azz. WAKE UP BLACK PEOPLE, LOOK PAST THE INITIAL MESSAGE. THESE CRACKERS HAVE BEEN FOOLIN US FOR CENTURIES.

July 18th, 2006 at 10:46 pm
That shirt is sick. How can you people not see that as a Jordan? No way in hell I’m ever going to spend $35 on a damn t-shirt though.
I’m torn on the whole Jay-Z returning. I want to hear some new hotness from him, but I mean the Black Album was the perfect way to go. I think to me personally, his new album is going to have to top Blueprint for it to not hurt his legacy.
For clarification, I consider Blueprint his best.

YOU DUDES ARE IDIOTS…
ANYWHOO…ANYTHING THOSE CATS DROP IS PIFF…THAT GHOSTFACE SHIRT SOLD OUT IN A MATTER OF HOURS, IF THAT, AT THE LOCAL BOUTIQUE…
AND IM NOT EVEN GONNA ASK ABOUT THAT MIKE SHIRT, SINCE THEY GOT EM IN SUNDAY, AND ITS TUES. DAMN I HATE HAVING A JOB….
July 18th, 2006 at 11:23 pm
Front, you almost got the cosign till you said blueprint was his best album. to me, as much as i love each and every album in its own way, nothin tops reasonable doubt. i remember the summer that came out and i don’t think i listened to another cd the whole summer. i’m afraid the new album will be a “super album” meaning that he will have all superproducers and all the superstars of def jam. i’m not looking for an album filled with guest features. quite honestly, if there’s more than two rappers featured on the entire album, i would be pretty pissed.
July 18th, 2006 at 11:55 pm
Reasonable Doubt is classic, but there were tracks I skipped on it. Blueprint was one of those rare albums where I truly never hit the skip button. Fuck even the two bonus songs were good. Plus, the diversity of that album was amazing. There are rappers consider in the top 10 who would kill to have the Blueprint to be their greatest hits album.
July 19th, 2006 at 12:18 am

they deserve it though, if it really is 2 cats… all theyre shirts are freshh (no homo).
July 19th, 2006 at 12:36 am
I don’t think $35 itself is expensive, but why would you pay $35 for a t-shirt? That makes concert prices seem cheap. Supply and demand bitches.
July 19th, 2006 at 12:40 am
front.. because there is a demand, they can make it as expensive as they want, because ppl are willing to buy. though they cant OVER do it, if everywebsite is sold out of 35$ tshirts, some t shirts and order them quicker and charge 10 bucks more and no one would say shit because they would be getting their fuckign t shirts
July 19th, 2006 at 12:41 am
oh and btw, when you buy 200$ kicks that probably cost 3 dollars to make, 35 dollars for a tshirt that has to pay off a bunch of copyrighted shit sounds reasonable
July 19th, 2006 at 12:55 am
Shirt is a hot idea…i’m not really feeling the stars…Shit is dope though…enough with Jay retiring! that was just more press for MR. Monoply…I have a problem with him still alll over the radio when dudes under him on his label are fucked..eg. BIG GHOST….for real.

35$ for a tee is expensive but atleast its nice. I cant say im not feelin it. Besides if more dudes drop 30-40$ on tees every once in a while they wont have idle cash to spend on awful awful things like grills. Anyway I love Lemar and Dauley and I really wouldve bought that ghostface shirt they did if they had anymore in small lol. good look.

July 19th, 2006 at 6:40 am

I like the one with Ghost , that shit is hot!
July 19th, 2006 at 7:59 am
I see what these cats are doing with their designs, they’re setting the trend instead of following everyone else. On Jay coming back,…I knew dude could’nt stay away for long, plus him going to the studio is an excuse to get away from annoying Beyonce. Wait let me clear that up, that chick could be as annoying as she wants, she could speak gibberish and squeal like a fucking pig, i’d still wife it.
July 19th, 2006 at 8:08 am
Why would you pay somebody $35 so that YOU can advertise for THEM? That’s the problem in the Hip Hop community as well as other factions of society. Meanwhile, a dude like Bill Gates wears some non-descript shit and he has billions. Does anybody on here willing to buy a tee for $35 have billions? Don’t get me wrong, I like to look nice as much as the next person, but I can do so without getting sucked into the bull.

^ I believe one of the designers are Black if I’m not mistaken. Either way I would cop it. And the shirt is $35 because it is considered a “designer” t-shirt. Now, a dude like me can walk in the mall and go to a store and find a nice shirt with an ill design and it’ll run me between $15 – $20 on the regular. And if I can find my size during the clearance, probably around $10. If more companies were creative with their designs then perhaps we wouldn’t have to pay a higher price. I agree with E from BK that I would rather put on a Assata or Nat Turner shirt, but I’m a connoiseur of fashion and like to mix it up. The website where this t-shirt is sold, along with Digital Gravel, gives you plenty of options. At first people complain about rockin’ someone’s company name and logo (which I happen to despise) on their clothes. Now it’s this. But I like when art and life are combined because it usually turns out lovely. I guess not everybody can appreciate the same things. Plus the fact that I could walk around with that shirt on and most kids from the younger generation wouldn’t know whose hand that is with the rings on it because they didn’t grow up during that era.
Put it like this… I’ll take that shirt over anything Rocawear, Sean John, Akademiks, etc. any day of the week.
July 19th, 2006 at 8:57 am

================================================
I understand your point and really it’s more about priority. That $35 you spend on your hair actually promotes YOU. No, $35 is not a small fortune, but when I read books about how people have made their millions, almost to a person, they talk about how frugal they are. When I see Gates chillin’ in some non-descript clothes that makes me think.

GUCCI’S REVENGE?
Young Jeezy once called him “pocket-book boy,” but Gucci Mane is back and he’s dissing everybody like a deranged soldier from the Viet-Nam war! On the new DJ Burn One mixtape, “Gorillas N Da Trunk,” Gucci Mane has a song called “745,” which I hear is directed at Jeezy and even Jay Z. With Jeezy being called the “Snowman,” Gucci Mane goes on to say that his adversary is more “like a snowflake.” Now, here is where he goes into a berserker-like rage. To Jigga man, he reportedly says, “Beyonce, that’s your fiancée; Jeezy is the appetizer, you’ll be the entree. Two glock shawty, hey let’s party; I’m at the 40/40 looking for Shawn Carter!” WHOA, pa, slow down…slow down. According to the song, Gucci says he recorded this song in New York City, but he’s now back in Atlanta. There is a heat wave on the East and it’s about to get hotter – Thanks, Guc! (Shout out to June AKA David Palmer Jr.)

Just to set it straight; if $35 is what you are willing to spend for a tee then so be it. I definitely do not knock you for it, however, I don’t see the benefit in it for me. My style is not tees anyway. If you see me wearing a tee I’m probably out cutting my grass or playing ball. Now, if I am going to wear a tee for fashion then it’s going to have an image that is uplifting.

man, i still can’t understand this craziness over $35. if it said Lemar & Dauley all over the front of the shirt, i would understand people not liking it cause its just name recognition, but come on $35? that is the regular price i pay for t-shirts. to have a shirt this sick from lemar & dauley ( a company known to sell out within the first hour) and think its expensive is insane. they could charge 80 for that shit or bbc prices and people would still by the shit. its nothing when you are looking for original designs that aren’t just the name in 45 different styles. and if you think its expensive, wait until it hits ebay cause you can’t get that on digital gravel or boundless anymore.

you guys dont get it do you. i dont mean to come on here and get yall rowdy, but people that make these tshirts know their target market… ppl like us that sit around and that discuss if 35 bucks is alot (which can be divided in two: people who just swipe their mastercard, and peopl ewho count their pennies up… but that be fiending for it more than anyone)… rich white kids, the ocasional rapper thats gonna wear it once then wont be allowed to wear it anymore due to the rules of hollyhood.
everything is cheap to make, or else people wouldnt make it, it just depends how much gwop theyre gonna get back. for example, i was shopping for ties yesterday(for my bros wedding – no homo) and i saw donald trump was selling his own ties now. that homo motherfucker had some dope ties, but i didnt bother looking because the ppl hes targetting are willing to buy a 3$ tie at 15 times the price. the same tie wilol be marketed to me, but for way less price and way less prestige and all that garbage.
people like bill gates dont worry about 35$ even though shit be expensive to us. plus take into consideration that that one pic we saw of him, with jay, was brobably the 17th time he changed clothes that day.
ionno makes sense to me, theres always so much to take into consideration if you wanna be a conscious shopper. but fuck it, summer is ending and i wanna splurge

Three years after Jay-Z announced that he was retiring, he appears to be stepping back into the game with both feet. According to sources, Jigga has been in the studio with Scott Storch, Kanye West, and Dr. Dre recording new songs. “I’m working with Jay-Z on his new album,†Scott Storch recently told ROLLING STONE. “[It’s] the first time we ever really worked together. We got some fire.â€

Again, I just don’t see the benefit from my perspective. Like I said, from the countell books I’ve read, the people who become self made millionaires based on things other than entertainment are the most frugal. Since my jump shot is not that great, since my flow is average, since my acting skills are sub par and since they have not made Scrabble a sport yet, I have to get it other ways. With that, although I can buy most of what I want, I am curbing my spending towards the “frugal” area. I am working on following the habits of people that are already there.

Lemar and Dauley has moderate price points and are catered to the hood. Everyone that thinks that is too much for a shirt doesnt need to wear it! This clothing line is a complete life style brand and if you cant embody it… dont.
