Stray Shots
A warrant was issued for DMX’s arrest when he failed to show up in court today. He also told AHH he’ll slap the shit out of one of those Lean With It, Rock With It niggas, and said that he wasn’t dissing Jeezy when he called him Young Cheesy on BET. He said that if he was gonna dis some one he’d say "F**k you, you b*tch ass n***a."
This cover is funny and all, but who’s gonna want to be seen purchasing that mixtape?

DMX: I recorded a lot of joints. This album will be heard. It’s the same album, but a few more joints. Do you have a Now-N-Later?
AllHipHop.com: Do I have a Now-N-Later? No.
DMX: [Turns to another person] Do you have a Now-N-Later?
Other Person: Do I have a ventilator? No.
——-
that’s some of the funniest shit i’ve read all day.
June 29th, 2006 at 12:10 am
i think NaS over-did it with the huge rope chain. he shoulda gone with just the jesus piece alone.
June 29th, 2006 at 12:13 am
damn, i can’t watch the Meth video. i don’t got windows media player on the iBook i’m on. i try clicking the link that says it will install windows media, and then it takes me to a page that says i clicked an invalid link. way to leave Mac users hangin’, Microsoft.
June 29th, 2006 at 12:17 am
spliff starr is still ridin off the “trini man grinding…” verse from a few summers ago. As for the BET awards they were as bad as i expected and so i was thoroughly entertained, thanks to black star power and i cant lie i was happy to see eminem not that im a stan but hes been through alot and i think wether people trust his motives or not it should mean something that he chose to do that on BET and not somewhere else. Anyway enough logic, Ghostface makes me smile and DMX is fking crrrazyy. I cant wait to see his show, atleast we know he showed up for that…atleast the ones they’ll air…
June 29th, 2006 at 12:23 am
nas jacket looked dope. kelis was lookin bad
June 29th, 2006 at 12:28 am
Es, never really heard of the BET awards, for real…
Nas, looks like he got a $1.25 in his pocket and don’t get gassed like Kelis ain’t a groupie…I hope Jay hasn’t tagged that one too…Oh Sorry, I forgot, that would be a poor biusiness decision…
Love the Ghost pics…A lot of white chicks on stage…$$$$$…..The question I have though is , I read that Ghost did the south by southwest show in Austin a lil’ back plus this one in Chicago..Aren’t these type shows for like underground dudes and shit..Like dudes trying to get there shit out there for the first time?. ( Lupe?) Isn’t it a shame that all the fine work Ghost has put in ( “before nas was doing the nasty”) he still gotta do shit like this to move units or whatever!! It’s fuckin’ outrageous….That’s why on I can’t fuck with dudes like Puff and Jay….They started this commercial shit….for good , bad or indifferent and that’s why the music sucks…..
June 29th, 2006 at 12:51 am
Nas looks straight ridiculous with those gold chains….why where a suit then compliment it with Nick Cannon’s chains?? Truthfully that jacket is kinda ugly too….
Don’t bring up Em and the BET awards….never know where that might go again…im kinda scared that i said chains…..
June 29th, 2006 at 1:04 am
so now a dooky rope is a “Nick Cannon” chain? you can’t be serious

June 29th, 2006 at 1:15 am
Hey man Nas doesn’t look to bad..his suit is coordinating with his chains he looks real good and healthy..nice bulge too..no homo
June 29th, 2006 at 1:16 am
Nick Cannon’s chain….dooky rope….whatever…still shyt
June 29th, 2006 at 1:18 am
what is the point of sayin “no homo”??
June 29th, 2006 at 1:24 am
“This cover is funny and all, but who’s gonna want to be seen purchasing that mixtape? ”
lol its all good as long as you recite the mandatory “no homo” at least ten times when you cop the tape. In adition make sure you take out the cover and either burn it or shred it. As long as you dont say hang the cover on you bedroom wall youll be aight
June 29th, 2006 at 1:27 am
Kelis was on 106th and Park alking about how she loves to cook
and she be tearin’ it up in the kitchen
I believe her cause Nas is looking “mighty healthy”
June 29th, 2006 at 1:30 am
Game’s lookin good and healthy too on that cover..nice bulge but he should put some more clothes back on..no homo
June 29th, 2006 at 1:33 am

June 29th, 2006 at 2:22 am
damn, i thought NaS had too much gold on, but Busta takin’ to another level. he got 2 rope chains, and looks like 6 others with medallions. i heard Em gained weight, but he look tiny next to 7 foot Busta Rhymes.
June 29th, 2006 at 2:24 am

DMX, damn man, he must hold the record for most warrants, tickets, arrest and crimes in hip hop, if not, im fucking shocked… but dudes still doing his thing cant hate on that!!! he’s the dog!!!
fuck BET!!! they censor the educational black music, and force feed the commercial materialistic music, it makes me sick to be honest with you… i tihnk we should all write them a 5 page letter saying why we think there full of shit, im sure were all capable of doing that… lets see how they feel when we flood there brains with some hardcore truth… basterds!!!
June 29th, 2006 at 2:45 am
>> Busta takin’ to another level. he got 2 rope chains, and looks like 6 others with medallions.
Damn, I thought rope chains would never come back after Slick Ricks last record. Looking at Busta is like looking at the inserts of my “Paid In Full” CD.
June 29th, 2006 at 2:45 am

June 29th, 2006 at 4:15 am
Meth is a real nigga. Good interview.
June 29th, 2006 at 4:54 am
@ Darth Cipher
Ppl always saying how BET is too commercial and yadi yadi yada, but they are an Entertainment channel wut do you expect. Like Bob Johnson said there’s a reason why its called Black Entertainment not Black Education. Would I prefer they have some more positive shit on there sure (they really need to get rid of uncut), but i’m not gona front on them because I don’t expect to get my education and news from a ENTERTAINMENT channel. Thats what libraries are for, or cnn, or fox, or whateva. Plus when BET did have the news, and Travis Smiley no one watched. That’s why they changed in the first placed. But now everybody acting they missing something when they were never really watching it in the same place. And don’t give me that “well their president is black so they have a moral obligation,” well the president of MTV is a black female also, are you going to “write them a 5 page letter to.”
June 29th, 2006 at 5:15 am
>> yeah, everybody was rockin’ them big-ass rope chains back in the late 80’s & early 90’s. check out this Run-DMC pic, they all got a solid gold dookie rope chain on.

Is it just me? I watched the video footage AHH had from interviewing DMX, and it makes me really sad. I feel for DMX. The last few interviews I have seen from him are shocking as fuck! He seems to be getting worst. I couldn’t help but to think that Jay-Z must be laughin to himself like, ‘Man, can’t you see youself why we don’t wanna fuck with you?’ Fo real tho, I hope the Lord shows DMX a sign… a sign to stay of that crack.
Also, I reckon that the real reason he’s back in the booth is coz film producers don’t want 2 fuck with him. What was the last movie he made? He was in a string of movies then all of a sudden it just stopped! Now he’s back rapping? Hmmm, ok.
June 29th, 2006 at 7:58 am
ok i just watched the DMX interview video on AHH and i don’t see how the interviewer could even understand what the fuck DMX was saying

damn i feel for you but i know what your going through thats what i used to deal with as a nets fan now it seems we’ve switched, i couldnt believe they picked balkman when they did cause they could of easily still gotten him with the second pick but your right dude is a sleeper and a big body the knicks need, but i wouldnt of passed on marcus but what the fuck was boston thinking picking the dude from kentucky ( i can spell his name and i was doing cartwheels once i realized we got marcus )
your also right about the dude from temple hes a solid pick coached by john chaney another good look and he is a tough player. both these guys will come in and bust their ass everyday them with channing frye in a couple years could be a good look

Billz is Back To Business…
X gettin’ arrested again = *yawn*, but him sayin’ he’ll smack those DFB is not necessarily the approach I like but I damn sure understand where he coming from. Those niggas along with D4L need to get tackled off a cliff simultaneously.
That cover is literally homo. But, leave it to 50 to add that type of innuendo. That GQ cover wasn’t far from it… and that was REAL.
I can’t wait to check out that Paper Chasers documentary. A lot of people have the business side misconstrued and need to see how it operates. And dude definitely got my attention with this quote:
“His next feature film, BMORE, will begin making festival rounds this Fall.”
^ HI HATERS.
Now that Foxy got her hearing back, we should be expecting a more introspective album from her. Because I don’t care what none of yall say, “Come Fly With Me” was a WAY HOTTER SONG than Kim’s “Lighter’s Up”…. FUCK THAT! That Sizzla sample was MURDA! And that fact that she has a Trini background and was speakin’ REAL patois throughout the song and not that fake shit Kim be trying to do just because she has BK roots and hung around Biggie (who we know has West Indian roots). I was mad that her song got overshadowed by Kim’s. As a matter of fact, I’m goin’ on Datpiff tonight and see if I can download an old mixtape with that song on it. “RRRDAAHHH! RRRDAHHH!”
Ghost was out there gettin’ it in on stage real proper-like (pause). That’s how a show supposed to be. What good is a show if you can rock with the fans? Fuck that. Even though I don’t like Cash Money, I remember they were inviting chicks on stage for their Drop It Like It’s Hot contests. Now that’s what you call crowd participation. I see you Starks!
I peeped that Meth interview before I got to work. For the record: FUCK WENDY WILLIAMS. That shit was real foul chief. I understand she’s the spokeswoman for the rumor mill and shit, but some shit is just over the line. She has no fuckin’ integrity and is the main reason why the media gets the backlash that they get. Not only is she an embarrassment to Black people, but to all journalists who work hard to have honest and fulfilling careers. I’m glad Meth put her on blast about her being out Park Hill back in the day snortin’ coke and suckin’ niggas off (pause). I’m pretty sure there’s more dirt than that but he decided not to indulge in details. And I appreciate how he was honest about Jay-Z signing a lot of these other acts. If Hov actually has the power to sign the acts that he wants then I must say that I’m disappointed as well. I understand his job is to make the label money, but it would be ridiculous to say there’s no good artist in the Northeast region. However, I don’t think Jay makes the final decision on who gets signed which means he has to bite bullet and continue to put out whoever is “hot” at the time. Another GREAT point that Meth made is that Blacks DON’T COME OUT TO THE FUCKIN’ SHOWS. Like he said, white kids study the classic material at a young age so that they can build their foundation for music and understand why and how it exists. As oppose to a lot of Black kids who mostly listen to the current music at the time, get tired of it, and then go back to the old school. Overall, it was a pretty solid interview. And if the two singles he got out now are a basis for the new album, then I’ll definitely cop it. I hope he “brings the pain” this go round.
I can’t WAIT for that new Beans shit. Especially since he got two producers from Philly to really give that authentic “cheese steak from Ishkibbles” sound (if yall cats don’t know about Ishkib’s, yall need to hit up South Street pronto if you get the chance… best fuckin’ cheese steak on the block). I’m expecting Beans to bring that heat again, hopefully with better production. His last album was real dark because of the bullshit he was going through. But that seems to be Beans life in a nutshell. Plus that whole split with Dame and Jay really fucked up the promotion. Dude still might go gold with his last album though which is pretty good with no promotion. New album will be the shit, that’s my prediction.
Rapidshare is doing me greasy (pause) with the whole past-the-limit shit so I didn’t get to hear the new song. I’m sure HipHopGame will have it posted by the time I get home.
Btw, big shout out to Es for the Hot 97 recognition… you’re on your way chief!
Ty Biggs… You lucky mofo! I watched the draft last night and Nets got two UConn picks back to back, which is the most picks by any school in the first round of the draft. And if this new point guard practice under J. Kidd, he’s gonna be the next in line. Sebastian is on Boston now… can you say 8th seed? Yup, I’m callin’ it right now. And I was hoping someone was gonna tell me that A.I. got traded because it’s time for him to shine.
Landlord… I’m sorry but Queen La gets the G.F.O.A.T. in my book chief!

yesssiiiiirrrr thorn is that dude defintely one of if not the best gm
i got something for you knicks fans ( i dont mean to poke fun but i was reading the sports guys column on the draft and he was killing me with his isiah comment,as he usually does )
“THE KNICKS ARE ON THE CLOCK!”
ESPN wisely works the MSG crowd into a hostile frenzy by showing the obligatory “KNICKS UNDER ISIAH THOMAS” graphic. Has there ever been rioting at an NBA draft before?
9:34 — Stephen A. on the No. 20 pick: “I’M A BORN AND RAISED NEW YORKER, OK? YOU HAVE GOT TO GET A DOG ON THIS ROSTER, I DON’T CARE WHERE YOU FIND HIM. I DON’T CARE, YOU GOT TO GET SOMEONE WHO WILL BE IN PEOPLE’S FACE, SOMEONE WHO’S HARDCORE. YOU LOOK AT ISIAH THOMAS AND HIS DRAFT HISTORY … YOU KNOW THAT HE KNOWS TALENT … THIS PICK HAS GOT TO WORK. IT’S GOT TO WORK!”
(Translation: The Knicks need to pick someone good.)
9:36 — There are those moments in sports when you expect something great, and then it actually happens. And then there are those rare moments in sports when you expect something great, and something even greater happens. This was one of those moments: The Knicks on the clock, the crowd pushing for Marcus Williams, and then …
–Stern: “With the 20th pick, the New York Knicks select … Renaldo Balkman.”
(Crowd explodes in horror.)
–Stern (over the boos): “Renaldo is not here.”
–Patrick (without missing a beat): “And it’s probably a good thing.”
(Shot of a beaten-down Spike Lee laughing hysterically.)
9:36 — That was fantastic. Everyone kept e-mailing me to write about Isiah and the Knicks last week … what else was there to say? OF COURSE Isiah was meant to coach this team as his final job in the NBA before retiring to a life of greeting people at casinos and doing informercials. If somebody clogs your toilet, you ask him to clean up the mess. That’s just the way life works. I’m telling you, we’re going to remember the Isiah/Knicks Era the same way we remember things like Enron, the Hindenberg and the Bay of Pigs. It’s reached that level. I don’t know what else to say. Honestly. I have Knicks fans e-mailing me every day asking me if it’s OK to root against their own team. What else can you say at this point?
(Wait, I know … Renaldo Balkman!)
9:37 — A stammering Bilas sets off three minutes of Isiah-bashing by saying, “This to me is a stunner, I’m stunned. This is a second-round player. Nobody else would have taken him in the first round,” followed by Greg Anthony using the word “befuddling” and Stephen A. (maybe for the first time ever) admitting, “I’m almost speechless.”
I mean, when Stephen A. is almost speechless …
9:39 — Who’s going to be the first one to make the obligatory “Is it possible that Isiah thought he was taking Rolando Blackman?” joke. Screw it, I’ll do it.
10:27 — Now it’s time for Isiah Thomas’ last-ever first-round pick! The crowd sounds angry, Spike Lee looks semi-catatonic, the ESPN hosts look terrified, Stern looks relieved that it’s almost over.
Ladies and gentleman, Isiah’s last first-round pick he will ever make in the NBA …
(Drumroll please …)
Temple guard Mardy Collins! Wow, that was anticlimatic. The consensus from the ESPN guys seems to be “not bad.” But you know what? That’s the perfect place to end Draft Diary X. Mardy Collins isn’t just the answer to a trivia question some day, he represents the end of an error, er, era. What a night.
that fucking dude always has me laughing my ass off

Mostly because they know that he speaks his mind and was gonna rile shit up. He looked like a fuckin’ puppet out there. Traylor reminded me of Oliver Miller too much. And it looks like their careers went in the same direction. I couldn’t stand to see O. Miller’s fat ass runnin’ the court. true story. steph fucked up the minnesota situation but the rest of his career been jinxed. he goes to nj k-mart and vanhorn stay hurt. they trade him to phoenix for kidd kmart comes back and they get jefferson. phoenix gets rid of cliff robinson rodney rogers. then one of them years marbury suns played san antonio in the first round cept it was only 5 games in the 1st then. steph kills tony parker (parker got benched) went 5 games. kidds nets meet san antonio in the finals go 6 games. then marburys on the knicks. real good player, real bad luck

Eddie and tyson are a bust but deng, gordan and heinrich can work that rotation better than crawford, francis and marbury cause they play team ball. Now you Got Tyrus Thomas to add to the whole dimension. Bulls are going to be sick. Then you got john paxson who is one of the best gm’s in the leauge and scott skiles who is gritty. ^LOL. Yeah, I didn’t notice that until you brought it up. You know, it’s funny that you say that because me and my popz were wondering why the Knicks just don’t get good selections in the draft. They only get good players during season trades. Not to mention that their record sucks every year. Yet, the NJ Nets just got a whole f’in squad. I mean, besides lettin’ their #2 pick go for Curry, their options are always limited. Hmmm. And yeah, Isiah still there after sexual harrassment. Sad part is, the chick wasn’t even attractive dawg! If it wasnt for nash phoenix wouldnt be all that, this year only. When he won over shaq last year that might have been debatable, but shawn marion is one of those typical wingman like a richard jefferson who needs a point guard, they cant take over games like kobe and tmac or a paul pierce.

At first glance, I agreed with you, but it really depends on a team’s needs. Case and point, it would be very stupid for Phoenix to trade Nash for LeBron at this point. Nash blends very well with the style of the rest of their players. but I understand your point.

LeBron James is just a severe injury away from being Grant Hill! He’s a talent…no doubt, but he still has a long way to go! Yes, he’s breaking records at a very young age, but you still have to remember that b-ball in 80′s & 90′s is waaayyyy different than it is now! Back when Jordan, Magic, Bird, Isiah, etc. were playing, you got your ass beat up trying to do all the fancy highflying, posterizing type stuff LeBron does today! Hard fouls were what you got, to slow you down! It’s a new league today, and new superstars will be born under the new conditions.

^ Come on dawg, Sam? He’s a vet. It’s mofos that still can’t guard Sam. (LOL @ alien lookin’ mofo… and he reps B’more). Steve Nash DOES need to improve his defense though, but that can be worked on. And you can’t argue the teammates thing because when Stephon was on the Suns he had the same teammates as Nash, minus Rodney. And Dallas is better because they have a better TEAM, but not better INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS. Besides Dirk, who on Dallas has been/is All-Star material? Yet, Nash, Shawn, and Amare have all been in the All-Star game. The only other franchise that has an all-around great team AND All-Star player is the Pistons.

People aren’t saying that nash is the best player in the leauge, It’s he fits the suns system though. He cant win with a team like the heat or the pistons or even the clippers cause thats not his style, but he has used what he knows to make his situation just about better than any other point guard in the league. I would say nash might be the best Pure point guard, but I dont think he is overtly talented like a lot of young cats, He just had an explosive two seasons cause he is in the right situation. Gm’s are now learning thats what its all about, how well a cat can fit into that system.
The Post Jordan era fucked up a lot teams, cause they want a superstar. They dont look at history and study the lakers and the celtics. that was me that put amare in the top five. Have you noticed both kg and duncans numbers starting to slip. Every year amare has improved. I’m talking on an Individual basis. WHo would you take right Now? AMare or KG? Amare or duncan. Amare has improved his shot and his post up game. Its unconventional, but he can play with his back to the basket and hit the ten footer, he has mad quickness, and his handles are getting much better. So take a good look next season. When Amare’s numbers will be explosive 28 and 14 compared to garnets 19 and 9 or duncans 19 and 10

The current team is different from the team that won the championship 2 years ago, so what is your point? They have a different squad every year, except for the starting 5. The bench is what gets the teams over the hump for a championship.

KG overrated? Who could do what KG does with no help around him? No other PF in the game can carry a team like KG. Duncan without a guard is helpless. Amare, good player but needs to be fed from the point guard. In my opinion, KG can play 3 positions RESPECTIVELY with no problem: SF, PG, C. It isn’t that many versatile players in the league. And you’re right, Nash didn’t win a championship but, we’re talkin’ about their ethics during THAT particular season, not over the span of their career. If that’s the case, MJ would still be gettin’ MVP trophies.
June 29th, 2006 at 4:31 pm
…then why is Minnesota shopping KG then?…and again what has HE won…name one teammate he has made bettrer…Sprewell and Cassell made HIM better a couple years back…Cassell has two rings…Sprewell went to the Finals, WITHOUT Ewing…what has KG ever done in this league except make good commercials?…alot of cats done came and went that could get 20pts 12 reb a game…he ALWAYS disappears in the 4th quarters…hes been in the league 10 years, what are we waiting on?…the great ones make their role players better…the good ones need role players to make themselves better…

You cant say that dog, you just about comitted blasphemy. I hope you arent trying to compare lebrons defense to nash’s? Lebron does play defense, he doesnt play lock your man up style yet, but he will improve. He plays the passing lanes almost better than anyone in the leaugue So I dont know what you’re talking about. Dirk doesnt have to play defense. Dallas has Insurance policies on their team to cater around Dirk not playing defense.

^ Great point, but his attributes on the court shouldn’t be downplayed if we’re basing it on the superstar/role player shtick. If that’s the case, who in the hell has Kobe made better? Selfish ass nigga scored 81 but how did that help the team? If that’s the case, lets throw the scoring titles out of the window. Jordan made people around him better. And that’s why I hate when people compare Kobe to him. Shaq left his bitch ass and they suffered against the Suns WITHOUT a healthy Amare and injuries with Shawn, Raja, and Nash. KG wants out of Minnesota because he wants a ring. Iverson should want the same. Ray Allen should want the same.
June 29th, 2006 at 4:37 pm
Lets face it they gave KG and the ball, they really didnt give him a team, they gave him soft as wally and cassel and sprewell. No other big men, no bucket and pale players. We all know why the timberwolves couldnt go anywhere because Flip saunders is not a playoff coach. Spurs organization is one of the best in the leauge. They won 3 champion ships not in a row but in within 5 or six years, saying that they make good off season trades and acquistions consistently. Greg Pop is underrated and every one plays as a team. i was just going back at the comment that stated since he doesnt play defense he wasnt worthy of an MVP trophy and Lebron is a complete animal, but i havent seen him lock-up one person as you noted, and yeah he plays the passing lane well, but that just comes from being a playmaker and being long, dont get me wrong i have him in the top five for MVP, but as much as i hate to admit it, the best player in the league last year was #8

I never said Lebron locks up people, but He plays defense off the ball well, and plays hard effecient defense. WHat does kobe do better than lebron? The only I can think of is on the ball defending and three point shooting, other than that, cleveland had a sorry ass squad without him. Could the lakers win three games verse Detroit? Any coach would’ve chose the triangle offense during the Bulls dynasty. Then he goes from the Bulls to Shaq and Kobe. …is it me, or Does Kwame Brown look EXACTLY like Turbo from the old break dance movies “Breakin’: Electric Boogaloo…and with that Karl Malone body and superior athletic skills, what is wrong with Kwame?…for a couple of games during the Suns series it looked like he was showing some signs of life…if him and Lamar Odom ever grow up…..
^ For the life of me, I don’t know WHAT the hell MJ saw in that kid. #1 draft pick? Hell to the nah. That nigga didn’t have any superstar appeal on the Wizards. Then he picked up weight and got traded to the Lakers. Kwame may be decent to a lot of people, but to me he will always be disappointed because MJ held him in such high regards when he was GM. Do I base my standards on MJ’s perceptions? No. I just think he’s soft and needs to have a solid game in the paint before even being labeled a DECENT forward.

…they were saying last night that in the pre-draft camps that year that Kwame repeatedly dominated Tyson Chandler in 1 on 1 workouts and MJ fell in love because everyone thought Chandler was the truth back then…

god damn pissed i missed like 4 hours of fucking basketball talk few things i saw scrolling through
co-sign the greg anthony commentator thing but boy is damn good he surprised me
landlord – i have a few reliable sources who would agree with your reliable sources about childs coke habits
co-sign antoine walker i cant stand that cry baby
saw someone talk about the chuckwagon tossing shaq that shit was whatsup the he didnt give a fuck inthose days he was defintely one of my favorite players ever and straight he is one of my favorite people ever dude is defintely a role model now fuck what them old commercials say. talk about commentators i will watch a bullshit ass regular season game just to see the tnt halftime report and see what type of wild asss shit barkley would say
and finally i got know clue what jordan was thinking about with kwame but jordan destroyed his chance of ever having any confidence. jordan called kwame a flaming faggot shortly after he had been drafted publicly imagine being an 18 year old from country ass bama being drafted number 1 hand picked by michael jordan then he calls you a flaming faggot to the press, that would crush mad people careers
also i dont know what he is thinking with morrison dudes not that nice im telling you he is just another wally scerzbeack ( yea i know i spelt it wrong dont give a fuck ) come see me in couple years when brandon roy and randy foye ( brick city stand up ) are the best of this class hands down

About the rope chain: Poor Nick Cannon. Dude has been whoring out the rope chain all year and no one noticed. Lil’ Jon rocks it in one video and gets a feature on MTV.com.

“Paper Chasers” was pretty decent. My man kind of talked too much, but the interviews, esp. with the o.g’s. were inspiring.
