DMX Cited For Concealed Weapon
In this edition of my Weekly DMX Crime Rap Up:
Rapper Earl Simmons, also known as DMX, was cited for carrying a concealed handgun outside a Scottsdale nightclub, police said.
Officers near Buzz, southeast of Shea Boulevard and Scottsdale Road, stopped Simmons early Friday after they saw him remove his gun from a holster and place it beneath the front seat of his 1964 Chevrolet convertible.
Simmons, 35, was cited for a misdemeanor weapons violation for not having a permit to conceal the weapon beneath the car seat, said Scottsdale Police Detective Sam Bailey.
Simmons was not arrested.
So you’re telling me that in Arizona a black man in an expensive car can be seen hiding a pistol under their seat, in front of a club and walk away with a summons? That’s pretty sweet.

see i agree with the poetic part i always say nas is a street style poet but the painting pictres things i gotta disagree on they can both paint some crazy pictures with their lyrics i mean d’evil this cant be life meet the parents jay has that in him as well, but i feel what your saying, the biggest reason i perfer hov ( honestly i think he is a better lyricst ) but its the swagger jay has, its like dav chappele said, he loves listening to jay-z then going into a big board meeting his confidence is so through the roof cause he has that hova swag, im that same way let me smoke an L bump some jay and my swag will be out of control, helps ( actually scratch that the swag/crazy confidence is a nessecity if you wanna get any girls in ny/nj atleast, well not any but if you want a respectable one )

yeah jay definitely has a swagger that nas doesn’t have. i’m a southeren girl so although we like swagger its a different type of swagger that attracts us i think. people down here (including me) love TI because of his swagger (which has a southern twist to it) so i can see where u are coming from. for me its just something about the way nas puts his words together that it is so poetic for me and as i have said before, i’m an english major so i like to hear/see poetry in everything. when i listen to jay i don’t get that same poetic vibe but that’s just my opinion. no doubt jay is an amazing lyricist though.

Reggae… I think Grafh’s old shit is better than his new stuff. He really slowed down his flow a lot because people were complaining that they didn’t get it or understand him (read: dumbed down). For instance, Bang Out is a street classic in my book.
