THis song is tight. I fell in love with the beat, and it is rap the way it is supposed to be. TELLING A STORY of where he is from. Y’all are sad. Not every black man in america came from the ghetto, knows about drugs and wants to pimp women. Get outta here with that nonsense. THis song is hot because of the story he told and the way he said it. If you took his same ability and he was rapping about bitches and cristal, you’d be all over him. Open up your eyes. There is a lot out there in the world to do. Black folks are not limited to do just “black things”. Stop letting other people define you. Hell if you are black, you are black. What you do isn’t going to keep you from being black. If you can’t relate to skate boarding, just listen to how passionate he is about something, and translate that to something that you are passionate about. You might be able to feel him then.

First of all, anyone who refers to Kick Push as “cracker shit” should not even be humored. I’m willing to bet that white skateboarders by more CDs than black kids in the ghetto, but that’s just a hunch. He even address the subject in the song “how we both black, but our kid is biracial”….even his parents were dumpin that B.S. I feel this one too. Lupe got something about his flow. I hope this is how he always is on his songs. If so, he’s got my purchase when the album comes out.

I like the original “kick push”. Mainly because it’s fresh. Just cause you hip-hop don’t mean you gotta talk about what hip-hop seems to represent these days: money, hoes, clothes and guns. I think it’s a refreshing break. Be blessed.

I’m embarrassed by how many of you have classified what is hip hop and what it is not. I heard of this Lupe dude for a while, but never heard his music. When I finally did see his video my initial reaction was this shit is tight AND this dude is doing HIM. There’s nothing more hip hop than thinking for yourself and being your own person.

Rap is dying because it’s generally all the same. The only way it can survive is if the talent keeps evolving in subject matter and style/delivery and, oh yea a little substance wouldn’t hurt either.

Hip Hop can’t die it’ll just transform into something else for the lames to catch up to in a few decades.
