I think ya’ll given too much credit to Saigon though! It’s still early in his career? Yeah, he got flows and all that swagger image stuff, but I have watched many artists that had all of those things crumble at the finishline! Remember Joe Buddens and all the hype he had coming out??
And don’t front on Canibus, he’s an educated man, served in the military and has one of the most deadly freestyle vocabs since KRS-One! He may not have a great album under his belt, but he can still eat most of these so called MCs on the freestyle tip!

The think they have a real good business structure, but I don’t think they have the fan base to get that Jay, Diddy, or Russell money. I don’t think he broke at all, just not at that upper level. Just make a video and some posters, drop the album and let word of mouth do the rest… that’s if the album is firm business.

I got Food and Liquor and I think the shit is hot too. I don’t think Kick Push is one of the worst songs on there but there is definitely hotter shit on there. Ghetto Story/Steady Mobbin(?) is probably one of my favorite tracks off the album. I think Lupe has a lot of potential to go far. I live in the A and they actually play Kick Push on the radio down here which is really surprising since they hardly play anything that’s not from the South down here.

@Manolo – I am not saying J Dilla was a better DJ than Primo (meaning spinning wax and cuts)….I mean in the overall career development and musical contributions! Dilla has not only put in down in hiphop but also in soul and jazz as well! I am not just saying this because he is dead now! I am actually from Detroit, so I know all about what he has accomplished and how hard he worked to get there!
Primo is my man too though! I’ve been down wit Gang Starr since the Manifest days! That is still one of my all time favorite hiphop groups on the hiphop tip! But, right now and over the last few years, Primo has not been a major factor in the hiphop game! He still drops a mixtape here and there, but that’s not saying much!

kween it’s really hard to believe they play Lupe down here. I like southern music so I don’t have a problem with them not playing the 50 cent and some of the other shit but it’s crazy because I went to North Carolina which is still considered the South and I was hearing shit that I would never here down here. I hadn’t heard that Ghostface and Ne-yo on the radio (I had heard it on the net) until I went to NC like a month ago. I was like they play this on the radio here??? The crazy thing about North Carolina though is that they don’t support Little Brother hardly at all.

This 300+ post shit is getting hectic. I remember Nah Right when 30 posts were alot.
All this back-and-fourth arguing and bitching. These 5 word posts that just have stanley’s nut grabbing the rapper eskay mentions in his blog. I thought after Luis disapeared, shit would get better. But it’s gettin worse.
