I met yung joc last night when he was flying up to the concert. apparently he missed his first flight and wasn’t sure if he was going to make it in time. he was supposed to go on stage with dipset. did anyone see him there? all the reviews of the concert I’ve read so far haven’t mentioned him.

When Brat came out with that joint “What Do You Like?” and I saw her half-naked in that video, I’da smashed in a *don johnson voice and song* “hearrrrrrt beeeeeeat”! She was lookin’ right. And if she would dress like that more often who knows how her career would take off. But, she’s from the old school and I’m assuming doesn’t want to use her physical appearance to sell records because I still think she is one of the most lyrical MC’s in the game, female or not. Crunchy Black doesn’t seem like the type who has the intangible skills to get out there and provide much else to society other than specific dances to fit songs.

He was riding Three Six the same way Gary Payton has been trying to ride Shaq to that Ring for the last few years.

He should catch some Turk or C-Murder type charges anyday now.

I far as I can tell NY is still the hiphop’s powerhouse. Per capita NY still shines brighter than any other territory. Hiphop’s 1)top selling 2)most respected 3)illest business mind 4) greatest lyricists 5) most influential 6) longest lasting niggas still hail from NYC. This whole bring NY back is propaganda to give these little niggas a chance. The economics of NY won’t allow for middle of the road rappers to succeed. This is not the case in smaller markets. Plus NY is alien to the rest of the country. St. Louis and Houston and Detroit and LA got much more in common than NY to any of these cities so the millions of niggas elsewhere can’t relate. Only NY niggas that blow are the ones that can conform somewhat to the rest of the country (Jay, Big, Busta) otherwise you ass out as a NY rapper.

The show follows up last summer’s sold out inaugural benefit, which featured The Roots, De La Soul, Mos Def, DJ Premier and MF Doom and raised $150,000, and will be held rain or shine in Central Park’s Rumsey Playfield (enter at 69th Street and 5th Avenue) on June 8th. The event will combine legendary hip-hop stars â€“ Common and Rakim â€“ with the genre-defying DJ Z-Trip, one of the originators of the current “mash-up” phenomenon, and the two most heralded up-and-coming rap acts of 2006 â€“ Kanye West protÃ©gÃ©s Lupe Fiasco and Rhymefest. Celebrated DJ Kid Capri will host and man the turntables throughout the day. Doors will open at 5pm. The first performance begins at 6:00pm.

Proceeds from the event will go directly to the International Rhino Foundation as part of Marc Ecko and *ecko unltd’s multi-year financial commitment and overall partnership effort to double the populations of the Indian, Black, and Sumatran rhinos, three of the planet’s most endangered species. As a symbol of this program, a baby Indian rhino born at the San Diego Zoo’s Wild Animal Park in January 2005 was named “Ecko” after the well-known designer.

Commenting on the benefit, Mr. Ecko stated, “Last year, we welcomed an extraordinary crowd to our first annual Save the Rhinos benefit concert, raising much needed awareness of the plight facing these majestic animals. Building on the success of that event, am delighted to bring another great line-up to Central Park this June.”
