Def Jam Fall Release Schedule
According to Hiphopsite.com:
Rick Ross – "Port of Miami" – 8/1
The Roots – "Game Theory" – 8/29
Young Jeezy – "?????" – 9/12
Nas – "Hip-Hop Is Dead" – 9/19
Lady Sovereign – "?????" – 10/3
Fabolous – "?????" – 10/10
I don’t see any Joe Budden which is troubling. Somehow, I don’t see his album coming out during the 4th quarter. I don’t see any Redman, but that doesn’t surprise me. It’s good to see dates next to The Roots and Nas’s names. I’m curious to see what Jeezy’s second album is gonna sound like and how Fab’s first Def Jam project is going to turn out. Jay should lose his Christmas bonus for even considering signing Lady Sovereign, and Rick Ross had better sell 5 million his first month if he’s gonna be knocking my man Nore (The Real Noreaga) out of the rotation. Then again, if Mr. Santiago is going to insist on making more reggaeton records, maybe he deserves to sit on the shelf for another 6 months.

June 2nd, 2006 at 12:07 am
can’t believe i finally got one. i’m listening to young joc’s new cd, i’ll do anything to forget what i’m doing.
June 2nd, 2006 at 12:08 am
2nd to first..Is def jam the last legitimate institution of authentic hip hop music?
June 2nd, 2006 at 12:13 am
my thoughts:
rick ross: not going plat
roots: not going gold
jeezy: depends on his singles. if they come right he could go double again.
nas: not going plat
lady whatever: hopefully falls into a deep hole
fab: not going plat.
June 2nd, 2006 at 12:19 am
jeezys shit is gonna b called “snowman” .. word from wikipedia…
yo eskay peep wut yo buy joel juz murked
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-YdmPKEb7I
he on my top 5 list after that
June 2nd, 2006 at 12:20 am
Since there’s no Buddens in the line-up, fuck all of those releases (Nas included, though I’m a fan).
On that note, I’m out. Holla at yall later.
June 2nd, 2006 at 12:22 am
If Fabolous can lay off the the love songs i might actually pick up his cd for a change, but since that’s his formula i doubt his going to…..
June 2nd, 2006 at 12:38 am
The Lineup looks ok. Rick Ross is wack no one from NY will cop it. Budden was supposed to drop in October guess not. Fab has to spit his mixtape shit on this one. Jeezy and Roots will be solid.Nas is most anticipated.Where is Nore Red and Luda?
June 2nd, 2006 at 12:38 am
man rick ross is such a waste of time, like honestly.
i hope the roots album will be hype.
jeezy’s album is most probably gonna be called CTE USDA’s the click, becuase thats all hes been saying since thug motivation dropped.
nas album is gonna be funny, unless he spits some of that “road to zion” shit, then the album could be pretty good.
lady sovereign: no comment
fabolous is gonna make a BEAST of an album, his last few mixtapes and mixtape track have been fucking dope and i hope he brings that onto the album. now as far as redman and joe budden go… WHY. im not much of a red fan, but buddens’ mood muzik 2 alone wouda made a hell of an album.
shame on def jam, seriously, what happend to their monopoly of hip-hop, fuckign rick ruben and russell simmons should be ashamed of LA and hov’s work.
speaking of hov, WHEN’s THAT DROPPING. fuck i hope he drops a surprise album like collison course. like no promo whatsoever, shit’ll go 7xplat
June 2nd, 2006 at 12:39 am
no way is jeezy, roots, and nas coming out just weeks apart. makes no sense.
June 2nd, 2006 at 12:44 am
>> Budden was supposed to drop in October guess not.
word, i guess he might [HOPEFULLY] drop in the last 21 days of october. i dont think luda is considered a def jam release, hes def jam south, and hes most probably cleaning up field mob’s mess, making another movie, or picking a fight with oprah.
yo es, you’re right about NORE’s corny ass reggaeton songs, but i cant deny the “oye mi canto” remix had me going nuts, especially cuz most of my close friends are from that region, but in the wikipedia link you hooked up says the album it was supposed to be on never dropped. logically, that means that what hes been doing [selling out], hasnt even proven to be that lucrative.. the guy didnt even make money off the hottest reggaeton track.
June 2nd, 2006 at 1:10 am
I cant knock the Carter adminstration for the schedual but Rick Ross is gonna sell now, not in August, the rest is fine if you ask me.
Roots, Jeezy, Nas, Fab are all gonna do really well if they’re marketed properly (ie. not Fishscale)
Now I’m kind of wondering what the fuck Def Jam is gonna do all summer? All I can think is Rihanna’s album is gonna get alot of attention if that’s the case.
And what about Freeway? I’ve been waiting on another album from him, same goes for Peedi Crakk (hell all of State P) but that’s another story. I’m starting to feel bad for any artist on Rocafella not named West.
June 2nd, 2006 at 1:22 am
well, it looks like i’ll be stickin’ to my best ofs for a while longer.
June 2nd, 2006 at 1:53 am

lmao??
June 2nd, 2006 at 2:16 am
If Buddens and Jigga (just in case he feel like coming out of retirement) are not coming out with anything, I won’t buy anyone of these dudes albums (maybe Nas).
Buddens is one of my favorites but I am getting sick of hearing he is about to come out with something then seeing here that he not dropping nothing. His first album was tremendous.
I hope he just surprises people and just drops something, cause I will not be to happy if he don’t act on his promise to drop something in ’06.
And of course, if Jigga drops another one it will be tremendous, with or without promotion.
June 2nd, 2006 at 2:25 am
Have you listened to lady soveriegn?
June 2nd, 2006 at 2:45 am
Why all the hate on Lady Sovereign? Girl doin her thing reppin London, bringin something different, unless you heard her spit don’t be quick to judge just cos she ain’t from the US. UK hip-hop live and poppin, don’t front, check for that Roots Manuva (Brixton I see ya niggas). Klashnekoff, Stylah, Sway, Skinnyman, open you ears.

^^^^^^^^^^
Who cares if no one from New York will cop it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.New York people dont buy CDs from their own rappers anyway.
Look at Ghostface-FISHSCALE,LLCool J-TODD SMITH,Mobb Deep-BLOOD MONEY:-GOOD ALBUMS which by the way go for about $12.99 PER CD but they dont sell.
NYC niggas are only spending their money on pussy-Hookers are becoming millionaires while NYC rappers are getting broke.
WENT from THE BIG CITY OF DREAMS to THE BIG CITY OF FLOPS
NYC IS OFFICIALLY DEAD and it aint gonna come back as long as THEY DONT SUPPORT THEIR OWN RAPPERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By the way METHOD MAN’s album “4:21″(DEFJAM) is also on the way

but there is also jayz 8th wonder coming out the 4th quarter……..looks like when nas and jezzy drop they will the top spots on lock for about a mth……..I don’t understand why rick ross is not dropping now…….one of the most spinned records in the country..but I guess he will get a lot of promo by chevy riding high which is dre song…..kind of similar to kanye first album when he had the top song thru the wire then he didn’t drop but got on twistas song and then inally dropped
June 2nd, 2006 at 8:16 am
C’mon, man, fa rill fa rill, what’s the deal with Nore and these wackass Reggayton joints, man? We want Supathug back!
June 2nd, 2006 at 8:17 am
What’s up with this “awaiting moderation” stuff? Es, can’t you make it do that only if it’s a link in the post?
June 2nd, 2006 at 8:25 am
Joe Buddens cd is never coming out. *laughs*
Nore’s cd will come out before buttons and it will go triple plat because of the spanish movement in the us. If Jay was smart he would put that out asap.
On the real I don’t see any of those albums sellin, unfortunately roots will probably be a classic but will only sell 30 copies
June 2nd, 2006 at 8:26 am
>>Have you listened to lady soveriegn?
unfortunately.
June 2nd, 2006 at 8:37 am
out asap.
On the real I don’t see any of those albums sellin, unfortunately roots will probably be a classic but will only sell 30 copies
jeezy will sell..his coming off a double plat album……..nas will sell due to anticipation alone…..rick ross will do atleast 750k – 1mill……fab went plat or double plat each album except the last……and of course when jay finally admits his album is coming and it will have the internet going nuts and atleast 4xplat
June 2nd, 2006 at 8:40 am
Why is Def Jam waiting so long to put out any of those albums (well lady soveriegn should never be released) come on that’s like a 2 month wait. They should drop ricky ross the middle of june, depending on what ross sell that should determine if they should drop jezzy in the middle of july or the end of july. Ross & Jezzy make good summer music (you know shit you bump in the whip, cookouts etc.) jezzy had the summer on lock last year why would they take the risk & drop his shit in the fall? The rest of the dates are pretty solid if they had at least one album to fill the space between now & august 1
June 2nd, 2006 at 8:49 am
I forgot abbout Jeezy. He should go double.
Who the heck is Lady Sovereign?
June 2nd, 2006 at 8:50 am
fabo just got signed to def jam, how is he comin out before joey aka that dude bka f%$# nigga, this is sad, im lookin for the nas album, no rick ross i got enuff of him off of mixtapes, roots yes, that lady no, and young jayz’s left nut no
June 2nd, 2006 at 8:53 am
*wonders what nas first single gonna be like*
June 2nd, 2006 at 8:59 am
I really dont see nas’ album being sweet. What will he talk about. He has no friends no one really works with him. The only way it will be sweet is if he has his label mates on there I’d like to here a Jeezy Nas collabo
June 2nd, 2006 at 9:04 am
@Manolo
nas always will have something to talk about, and then you say young jeezy, what does he talk about that we havent heard already?
June 2nd, 2006 at 9:06 am
“I’d like to here a Jeezy Nas collabo” – Manolo
They already did a song together “We Jook” I heard the song on “more hustle more snow T.I & Jezzy mixtape” I had this cd for like 2 months & I haven’t even listen to the song yet
*leaves cpu to listen to the song*
*be back in 5 with comments on the song*

^I Had the song on
June 2nd, 2006 at 9:08 am
I don’t see a b. siegal albume or freeway….I know 50 said he is done with his portion of the album….I thin they should drop a jay-z presents def jam album first and have him on like three or four songs…with the rest of the album of unknown or unhyped artist they have…..I figure with jays name on it and at least a diss directed at cam enough people will get the album to recognize the other artist they hav…like a compilation album with nas nore buddens rick ross jeezy memph blee young gunz b. seigal freeway and the r&b acts…..
June 2nd, 2006 at 9:09 am
Rick Ross will be like Fat Joe with Lean Back, lots of radio spins but no sales
Nas will go plat on the off the better production he will have and a Jay collab
Fab will be close to plat, i think being on def jam he will put out more street material than his typical love song
Jeezy has nothing new say, album gold maybe!
Lady who, fuck her.
June 2nd, 2006 at 9:09 am
blasphemy using jeezy and Nas in the same sentence… the nerve or you dudes.

What is the difference between Rick Ross and Jeezy…other that one is black and fat, while the other is short and dumpy? Why is everyone so impressed with these katz?
June 2nd, 2006 at 9:15 am
Does anyone have a summer album coming out?

c0l0mb14n1116, Joel ripped that shit he got that raw talent.
His future depends on who he signs with,… I hope not DefJam Jay lost his edge, I think its due to beyonce putting that thing on him hes not focused. Yea I said it (in ether intro) fuck Jay-z
June 2nd, 2006 at 9:17 am

June 2nd, 2006 at 9:18 am
Sidenote: has anyone heard that new weezy gangsta grillz? Pure garbage, certified wackness, Weed plate, frisby, well you get my drift
June 2nd, 2006 at 9:18 am
Any body heard that new Royce sond “ding ding”? That shit is fire!! FIRE I TELL YOU!! FIRE!! Premo is still my all time favorite producer.
and Reggae dude, youand I both know Jeezy album will be better than Nas.
June 2nd, 2006 at 9:18 am
Def Jam is releasing “Port Of Miami” in August because Rick Ross will be releasing another single this summer that is produced by Timbaland that Def Jam is hoping will be bigger than “Hustlin” and possibly push his album to platinum status. Chances are if they release his album off the strength of “Hustlin” he would only go gold. As far as the overall list, I believe all of those albums have the potential to go at least gold which in these days is the new platinum(translation: Jigga keeps his corner office at least another year). Lady Sovereign, you got to remember is a white girl, and contrary to popular belief, white girls go to the record store and buy more hip-hop/rap cd’s than anybody else in the country, so don’t be surprised if she does some good numbers. The Roots have gone gold twice being themselves, and it’s only when Jimmy “Interscope” Iovine got involved with their last project and tried to push that awful first single “Give It Here” or whatever it was called, that they lost fans and sales. They are going back to their “roots” on this new album, so I see them getting gold status again. The rest of the list, please ya’ll all know that Jeezy is gonna go gold in his first week, just like T.I. did. Nas’s album will sell 250,000 the first week alone, (100,000 in NY). Fab is supposedly getting Just Blaze to do half his album this go around, so that looks like an easy gold as well. Joe Buddens will be dropped soon, and will sign with Koch. Redman will be dropped soon and will sign with Koch. Nore will release a reggaeton album, (which has nothing to do with hip-hop). The real question is when is Tru-Life’s album coming out???
June 2nd, 2006 at 9:21 am
I can’t believe how many niggas r worried about how another nigga looks………this is music not americas next sexy rapper…..too many homos
June 2nd, 2006 at 9:22 am
What impresses today’s hiphop audience is amazing to me! The true essence of hiphop has been lost somewhere along the way, and we need to find it! I am still waiting for a Little Brother, Mos Def or Lupe Fiasco video to get the “so-called” #1 spot on 106 & Park…or even just some regular airplay??
June 2nd, 2006 at 9:22 am
I’m not sad about Nore not being in the lineup. Truthfully I gave up on Nore years ago. What happened to “The War Report” Nore? Damn, that was a classic album.

I dont know why people hate on Jeezy. He makes good hooks, Has good beats, Good adlibs and Good lyrics. The only thing hes missing is subject matter. 4 out of 5 is better than 85% of music out there. And that song about his baby moms shows he can talk about somethin other than slangin.
June 2nd, 2006 at 9:23 am
Reggaetonslasher, please explain how Jay has lost his edge?
@Jamz, the difference Jeezy will on occasion hit you with “a” hot line and he is entertaining, kind of like a hood bobble head. I have not heard a hot line, a single line from Rick Ross, Busta on that hook and Jay’s cosign are carrying him. Did you hear “I m bad”, that shit almost turn me off to hip hop all together.
June 2nd, 2006 at 9:24 am

no to jump on something that you asked other nigga, but jayz is droppin trash acts.
it’s just my thoughts man
June 2nd, 2006 at 9:25 am
When katz can’t rap in the “rap game” the only entertainment value that is left is their funny azz looks! Oh yeah, the size of his rims are important too….I almost forgot!
June 2nd, 2006 at 9:25 am
Plug, an album full of street anthems, gun and paraphernalia talk surely cant compile enough bangers, to fuck with Nas’s authenticity point blank.
June 2nd, 2006 at 9:25 am

Do yall think the first song on that album is about pac?
“We set you up, you didnt make it to the elavator. You never been to jail , Im jail seen” Nore

IS DEJ JAM HOVA?
nah right bloggers question jayz artist lineup choices
The Public: “i dont see the point in waiting till august to drop rick ross when he has one of the hottest singles right now in hustling”
Jayz: ..laughs..haha..NIggas gon hustle everyday..every day dey hustlin…pauses…Well ricki rap about so much coke and hustlin and bullshit plus he from Miami..they do it big there so I figured why get a NY artist when I could just capitalize on this shit thats fuckin up my people?
The Public: yea I bet the higher ups at DJ are watching that bottom line huh?
Jayz: “Yea..plus If you notice tho..I drop coke sellin, rim ridin ricki first, then if the pople be like yo whats this negative shit? then I drop the roots..to counterbalance..then I drop coke sellin rim ridin jeezy..followed by brother koofy its about balance fella”
The Public:”fabo just got signed to def jam, how is he comin out before joey
Jayz: “Well if you know anything about rap you d know this some egotistaical shit, you really think I would put out some nigga I feel poses a threat to me lyrically?..before I drop my own shit?…laughs”
The public:”Where is Nore Red and Luda?”
Jayz: “Well Nore is on the run eatin I think he in Mexico?….Yo ty..NOre in mehico ri?..yea he in mexico..Umm Red still in Jersey and luda is in court..with Kanye..*throws up roc diamond”
The Public:”shame on def jam, seriously, what happend to their monopoly of hip-hop, fuckign rick ruben and russell simmons should be ashamed of LA and hov’s work. speaking of hov, WHEN’s THAT DROPPING. fuck i hope you drop a surprise album like collison course. like no promo whatsoever, shit’ll go 7xplat”
Jayz: *smiles sheepishly*..haha well actually I think Rick and Russ would be happy..we added Ne yo, Rihanna is real big in her own country right now..yea we also got Terror Marie..shes gon be a beast..yea man we doin it big..oh yea by the way we dropped that FISHSCALE too..as far as my album?..*laughs again**..we’ll see”….Anyway..I gota go jump on a jet and go meet Bey in the south of France..Ill be back in July….maybe…walks out.
June 2nd, 2006 at 9:38 am
@Big Boi – Dudes like Jeezy, Rick Ross, Lil Webbie & Tony Yayo, etc. are all rap gimmicks…period! Just because you give a dude a chain, a oversized baseball cap, white t-shirt, baggy jeans, a pair of AF1s and a ghost written rhyme don’t make him a great rapper! Anybody can ride around in rented cars and tell other people’s stories! That shyt is smoking mirrors! Now-a-days dudes are coming out of every damn ghetto talking the same mess…just because that’s whats in at the moment?
June 2nd, 2006 at 9:38 am
@ Manolo
I always wondered if that line was for pac too.
*Remembers LA, LA video*
Yeah, probably for pac.
June 2nd, 2006 at 9:39 am

oh that nigga reminded me def jam even got comedy with luda……shit they tried to get lil wayne and trust they r still working on t.I…….and if the lox can wiggle out under 50cent records aka interscope they would be signed to……and one other artist they have is camrons pride and joy…juelz santana “like clockwork”..now new york that’s deep so much deeper then lean with it rock with it

another def jam artist thats dropping METHOD MAN
Method Man says he’s seen way better days.
In the few years since his last LP, Tical 0: The Prequel, dropped, he’s read unfairly disparaging appraisals of his skills in magazines, had his pride tested, gotten
Photos, audio and video from this story

(Def Jam)
his car and most of his jewelry stolen (that famous Meth diamond ice pick? Gone!) and seen his wife battle a severe illness.
“There were a lot of things that needed to be changed in my life and career,” Meth said Tuesday at New York’s Electric Lady Studios. “Everything! I needed that moment of clarity.”
The title of Meth’s new album focuses on that clear-headedness: 4:21 … The Day After.
“Four-twenty [April 20] is the national weed-smoking day, according to those who chief,” he explained, sitting on a piano bench. “I basically said ’4:21′ because I’m the day-after dude. Plus, four [and] two [and] zero only adds up to six. ’4:21′ gives you that perfect seven. So this is sort of the day after, a moment of clarity, so to speak. When you’re waking up from that night of partying and sh– like that, what goes down.”
4:21′s street record, “Yah Mean,” features Fat Joe and Styles P. and is the kind of pavement-embedded record one would expect from Meth. The album’s first single, “Say,” includes a sample of Lauryn Hill’s vocals from her 2001 performance of the Bob Marley classic “So Much Things to Say” on MTV’s “Unplugged.” The track finds Meth at perhaps his most pensive, talking about people who say he may not have it on the mic anymore, among other things.
“See, it was ‘Clan in the Front,’ ” he raps over an acoustic guitar. “Now they just gon’ front/ Like my joints is on Proactiv and they just don’t bump/ Then n—as gonna say I lost my skill/ When in fact they all been programmed and lost they feel.”
“I hate the way mutha—–s was talking, like I was the worst thing to happen to MCing,” he said of the inspiration for the song. “And there’s n—as out there doing way worst sh– than I ever did in my life.
“It’s like finally getting the joke and figuring out everybody is laughing at you — ‘All this time, I ain’t know’ — but still having that power to strike back at ‘em,” he added. “Like ‘I’m gonna reverse the joke. The joke is on y’all, ’cause I get it now.’ ”
Another moment of clarity arrived while Meth was figuring out who he was going to work with on 4:21, his fourth solo album. Kwame and Scott Storch both supplied beats, and RZA is back on board as well (see “RZA Happy To Once Again Be The Peanut Butter To Method Man’s Jelly”).
“On the third LP, it was suggested to bring in Harve Pierre and P. Diddy,” he began to explain about exactly where The Prequel went wrong. “Who am I to argue? Puff knows how to sell some records. But that wasn’t the direction to go in, and I know that now.
“I didn’t know that when people look at me, they didn’t just look at me as a performer who goes around and has fun all day,” he continued. “They want me to say something. I got [so] caught up in the other hoopla that I stopped saying anything. I just got wrapped up in trying to make hit records and SoundScan. … I just wanted to get my album out. Def Jam was going through their transition, and I felt that if I didn’t get my album out, I wasn’t gonna be at the label.”
Now, looking back, Meth says he sees that he needed to look inward to find the right direction.
“I wasn’t true to myself [on The Prequel] for the simple fact that, look at who I was working with,” he said. “I’m not trying to take nothing way from Puff, he’s the biggest artist on Bad Boy. But Puff with Meth don’t mesh. We don’t party the same way.”
4:21 … The Day After is due July 18.

Im not a business man I AM A BUSINESS DAME, LET ME HANDLE MY BUSINESS DAMN!!!
Jay-Z eyes big chip shot
- a Vegas casino
Jay-Z
Place your bets on Jay-Z.
The record executive wants to build a casino in Las Vegas, business associates tell us.
It’s a logical next step for the instinctual businessman, who journeyed from Brooklyn’s Marcy Projects to founding Roc-a-Fella Records and Rocawear with partner Damon Dash.
After selling the label and stockpiling $300 million, Jay-Z, aka Sean Carter, was named president of Def Jam records in 2004. Oh, and he’s a co-owner of the New Jersey Nets basketball team and the 40/40 Club.
Jay-Z wants to morph that sports bar’s low-key ambience – which he brought to Atlantic City last year – into a full-scale gambling Xanadu, reports one knowledgeable source.
“He’s definitely planning on it,” the source told our Chris Rovzar, adding that several meetings on the topic have taken place with investors who have worked with other gambling establishments.
“The 40/40 Club in Atlantic City has been doing great since it opened, and the one in New York is still booming,” another source told us. “There’s no reason not to expand.”
No matter what, Jay-Z is going global with his 40/40 franchise, his spokesman confirmed.
“There is talk of a possible 40/40 Club casino,” confirmed rep Ron Berkowitz. “There is definite expansion into the Far East, into Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo and South Korea. By 2008 they will all be built.”
Jay has been spotted with fiancee Beyoncé taking in the Vegas sights since New Year’s, even popping in to see a Cirque du Soleil performance in February

Never heard it, I heard a couple joints from him but in my last post i said im not taking up for lupe I just think weezy is the most overrated person out right now. He raps about absolutly nothing. I don’t see how you can defend someone then don’t like another nigga for the same reason

GOT DAMNIT! Right when I say my hatred for my job is at the climax (no homo) they give me a laptop with wireless card in it, so now I can get on Nahright everywhere I go instead of on this hoe ass Blackberry. Then they feed us free breakfast and lunch. Fuckin corporate assholes, they know what they’re doing.

Thats what that metrosexual lupe fiasco says on one of his songs.

I dont think you have ever listened to weezy. He has 5 freestyle tracks (to display his talents)and the rest have subject matter
June 2nd, 2006 at 12:39 pm
>>they give me a laptop with wireless card in it,
yeah I just got my wireless broadband, shit is fucking crack
>>Is this what has become of music? Snaps, backpacks, skateboards and metrosexuals?
your whole perspective is wack. so what hip hop has to be all tough guy, shoot em up shit? was fucking ATCQ killing niggas or walking around with they chest puffed out? how about De La? Rakim? Kane? I listen to probably more mindless thug shit than most of the people (my age) on this site, cuz I enjoy that shit, but I can still bump some Lupe type shit. I mean damn, we’re not allowed to have some balance?

whoa whoa whoa. i just saw the lupe hating going on. how can you like kanye and not like lupe. i fucking hate kanye, he’s garbage, but lupe is the future. he had one song on his album dedicated to skateboarding. and not for nothing, it was such a fly beat, i bump that shit. i’m not a skater and found that song enjoyable. now he might be a little backpack but putting that into the same category as snap music? that is straight retarded. snap music is based on a fucking dance. one that requires a no homo t-shirt while your doing it.

June 2nd, 2006 at 3:07 pm
Damn. Why does hip hop have to be so fucking boring now? Jeezy is garbage. Rick Ross is garbage. Fabolous is annoying. Never heard of Lady Sovereign. The Roots are cool, but shit nothing’s exciting about them. Once you get married you automatically fall off (Nas). Fuck it.
June 2nd, 2006 at 4:11 pm
^^^ blue, i need the last shit explained how does one getting married cause them to fall off? really you think nas is trash cause he is married but if he was single he would still be the shit???? maybe it so happens dudes stop being followed once they start acting like grown ass men but wifey doesnt cause a lack of lyrical ability and shit i think nas stepped his game up after kelis, his shit since after he got married is way better than nastrasdamus stillmatic god’s son
June 2nd, 2006 at 4:49 pm
Where is Young Leek’s name?
June 2nd, 2006 at 5:26 pm
Those dates couldn’t be right. That shit’s way too crowded. Two pairs of albums being release a week apart?? Even if it’s true, they’re gonna move things around by then, without a doubt.
Anyways though, I’ma be checkin’ for Nas & The Roots, we’ll see if they can bring some heat to the table. Fab, I’ll give that shit a listen if he can learn to fill an album with “Breathe” type shit and not all that other shit that should be kept to a 3 track maximum per LP. And this Lady Sov bitch…I wish I was there when Jigga signed her, so I could slap the pen outta his hand. I think I’d find a song filled with chalkboard scratching and styrofoam rubbing together more enjoyable. The video could even be a pot slowly coming to a boil too. Yeah, it’s that fuckin’ bad. Rick Ross…no comment.
And I dunno why the fuck some of y’all love Jeezy so much. I see no talent from dude. Yeah, he’s marketable with all that snowman gimmickry, but that’s the fuckin’ business side of things. Musically, dude doesn’t impress me at all. And don’t tell me it’s ’cause he’s got the dope beats. Good beats are always a good thing, but they can’t be the entire reason why you listen to an artist…’cause that implicitly means they suck. Fo’real. I heard this nigga attempt to rhyme “big wheels” with “cartwheels” WTF? I’ma try & find an acapella of dude for more SMHness. I mean I’ve heard this kinda shit from a lot of other rappers, but chances are they’ve got plenty more good verses than garbage ones. If Jeezy was visiting TRL, the vj could pull one of those white girls up and have her freestyle right on the spot better than dude. And I’m talkin’ one that strictly listens to Lindey Lohan & Ashlee Simpson.
June 2nd, 2006 at 6:51 pm

“I dunno why the fuck some of y’all love Jeezy so much”
none of us like jeezy

Jay-Z already has an album ready to drop any time he is ready. But it is not what you think. It is a collection of what he has done since the Black Album, including some of the songs with Linkin Park, probably the performance with Paul McCartney and Linkin Park, and all the various remixes he has been on since. Have heard rumors of not yet heard new remixes and/or songs with Fort Minor and Lupe Fiasco. Kanye’s “Diamonds Remix” is a definite. Not suprisingly, no Best of Both Worlds material. I have heard this album referred to as “Living Legend” and “Life After Death”. I don’t know about the “Life After Death” title, sounds more like a joke, considering BIG. Take this to the bank.

YOUNG JEEZYS ALBUM, “CANT COOK UP A SNOWMAN” WILL BE 15 DIFFERENT BEATS WORTH OF ADLIBS, CAMEOS, AND WILL BE SOLD IN STORES WITH SMALL BAGGIES OF COCAINE, IN ORDER TO INSURE SALES.
FABOLOUS WILL CONTINUE TO PUT “BROAD MUSIC” ON ALBUMS AND GIVE AWAY THE GOOD SHIT ON MIXTAPES FREE BECAUSE CLUE IS HIS GIRL AND HE LIKE THAT “R AND B SHIT NOW”

it’s fucked up that hip hop heads hate on reggaeton, when a lot of reggaeton fans like myself are huge hip hop fans and appreciate hip hop a lot. for latinos in pr, ny and all over, reggaeton is like our own expression of hip hop. some artists like tego calderon and tempo, are crazy lyricists, and don’t just sing about dancing and bitches and the usual fare. if hip hop fans gave some of it a chance, i think they would see things differently. so basically what i’m saying is, don’t hate on nore for doing some reggaeton, cause a lot of the hip hop that’s out right now is bullshit anyway.

Jay-z and Lady Sovereign meet to discuss a marketing strategy for album release, June 2006, inside Def Jam executive office, as Joe Buddens empties executive garbage cans in room:
Hov: So Lady Sov, scoot over a lil closer so that i can show you some sample album covers we’re considering, i’d like your feedback. No a lil closer. lil bit more ma. no rest your head here, close to the zipper. thaats it. yup. so im lookin at the track list, you heard….
Sovereign: mmmmm (wet slurping sounds)
Hov: so anyway, seem like a well rounded album. got the obvious appearances with other “alternative-ish rap artists” Pharrell, Lupe, Kanye, Missy and Timbaland, and my other domepiece, i i mean dimepice Rihanna.
Sovereign: mmmmm (more slurping, heavy breathing)
Hov: we got an album release party lined up for you next weekend, unfortunately, sol’s delicatessen is the only venue we could book for you, but not to worry, my assistants got it on smash, theyre gonna pimp out the order counter into a really hot soundstage so you can perform your first two singles, “Eurotrash slorez” and “UK brainTrain”.
Sovereign: uuhhhmmm (licking, slurps)
Hov: chill ma, of course theyre gonna love it! this is Hovito’s way and since i co-sign u the worlds gotta feel you.
Buddens: grumbles unintelligibly in backround, mutters something about stains on floor
Hov: dont worry Joe, ill have bleek clean up behind her on his way out.
Sovereign: mmmm? (swallows beyonces unborns quickly)
Hov: okay, so were finished here? good. ill check for you later. Ive got a 12 oclock menage with Teierra Mari and Rihanna, and a flight to catch out Houston to spy on B. Take care ma.
Buddens: excuse me Boss, about my album…….
Hov: yeah son, um, two way me on the up and up.
Sovereign: Alright Hovie, cherrio then
Hov: Never talk to me in front of people again, i thought we had that mapped out…
Sov: Hangs head in shame, scurries out of room
phone rings*
Hov: Nas, that you? Heyyy girl, shit im on my way over now, you know Jorge hates it when we dont call. yeah he gotta keep the pedicure fresh before u break out the open toed chanceletas. be there in a short, ta-ta!

LOOK DOG ITS NOT THAT WERE HATING ON REGGAETON, ITS JUST THAT IN NORE’S HANDS IT ALL SOUND LIKE THE SAME SONG. FURTHERMORE IF NINA SKY, THAT LUMIDEE BITCH, PITBULL, AND THAT FREAKY LOOKING TEGO DUDE ARE THE MOST RECENT EXAMPLES OF WHAT LATIN HIPHOPS GOT IN THE WINGS, FORGIVE ME IF IM SLOW TO APPRECIATE AND EMBRACE THE ART, BECAUSE IT KINDA SEEMS LIKE A WAY FOR OLD RAPPERS OF LATIN DESCENT TO GET NEW FANS, THUS MORE SALES. ALSO KNOW AS GIMMICK AND FAD.

Lady sovereign is basically what we in the UK call a “Chav”. In US terms that translates to “White trash”
Pikey little school girl about as urban as a private school kid raised with a silver spoon. Fake = Straight out of Stage school.
