Here’s some vintage audio from way back in 2001 when Star was still on Hot 97. On his show, he had been discussing an alleged jewelry reallocation that Prodigy had supposedly fallen victim to and was urging the rapper to call in and let everybody know he was alright. In this clip P calls up to Flex’s show while Star is there and a confrontation ensues.

I once reviewed the script for a pilot TV show about the hip-hop biz and I took issue with this one part when the rap star protagonist gets his jewels runnededed. The woman who wrote it told me that she worked in the biz and told me about all these cats who had been robbed – ODB, Nas twice, Busta like 3 times…so it definitely happens. No shame in running your cable when you’ve got a burner in your face. Only problem is that the only one who could be honest about it AND laugh about it – ODB – isn’t with us anymore. So we’re left with knuckleheads who call Tasha back.
One other thing: Prodigy is stupid. Can’t remember his own lyric, can’t stop saying the same thing over and over, won’t address the question, gets baited by Star so easily (and Star wasn’t even bringing his A game)…pathetic.

dont take this the wrong way, but your missing the culture, its like you got the cereal but no milk. Any true hip hopper knows real hip hop when he hears it, its apparent and comes across out of no where as an unrestrained expression of emotion much like the wind, a sudden rapid flow that sends chills up your spine (no homo), leaving you subject to uncontrollable head nods.
