Platinum Entrepreneurs Cam’ron and Julia Beverly teamed up for an interiew in the new Ozone. Cam talks about why thinks Nas’s move to Def Jam was a smart business decision, why he feels New York artists are doing just fine, and clarifies his statement about seeing "that nigga throw up that diamond before them shot’s were fired."
Let’s talk about the shooting incident in D.C. You implied in the song that the shooter was someone affiliated with Jay-Z.
I didn’t say that, first of all. It got misconstrued. The dude who was in the passenger seat with me, Huddycombs, seen [the shooter] throw up somebody else’s sign. I put it in the song cause that’s what he seen, but I didn’t see that. Huddycombs ain’t gonna make up no fucking lie. He don’t give a fuck about Jay or nobody else over there. So I put it on the song cause I’m co-signing with what he saw. I heard people say that we’re snitching or whatever, but I just got off Riker’s Island for the last three weekends. I gotta go back in this weekend because I won’t even cooperate with the police. I’ve been going to jail on the weekends because I won’t give the D.C. police a second of my time. So for a nigga to say that we’re snitching, get the fuck outta here. Nobody on their team is going to Riker’s Island. None of them niggas did more than a day in jail for a suspended license. So they don’t even know about not snitching or testifying or being in jail.

Secondly, I was a fan of OLD Cam’s music because he was more lyrically inclined and had more to rap about than just clothes and flippin’ birds. I don’t know what you are talking about. I said that I think Rocafella is Jay-Z’s full and square, he didn’t steal it from Dame. Rocafella was successful only because of Jay-Z released mult-platinum albums every 9 months. Thats fucking crazy. Think about it, all of the other Rocefella albums combined, essentially equal Vol.2. Actually not quite really, since Late Registration has put it a couple million over, but you get the idea.
Jay-Z didn’t really do anything directly to help Kanye’s career as a rapper, but Dash defintely tried to hold him in as a Rocafella stable producer. Defintely Dame validated him as a producer, but he dragged his feet on College Dropout. Why else would Kanye have to produce his own video? (Through the Wire)
Also, why don’t you go peep Last Call yourself, the “song” ends with him signing with Rocafella, making all this discussion after that fact. Also, he credits Talib for helping his career as a rapper the most.

Remember when Cam was a real mc? His second album SDE is one of my alltime favorites. It was raw, but still had introspection.
Now he’s just a straight clown. Braggin about going to jail on the weekend like that’s some maverick shit. Hatin on Jay because he grown up and has shown individual and business progress.
