Star Arrested For Child Endangerment
Star (Troi Torain) was arrested and charged today with harassment and endangering the welfare of a child:
Torain, 42, was taken into custody and transported to a police precinct in Lower Manhattan.
The New York Police Department’s Hate Crime Task Force launched the probe after the chief of detectives reviewed a transcript of DJ Star’s on-air comments about DJ Envy and his family, said police spokesman Paul Browne. Torain was ordered to surrender a 9 mm handgun and target practice permit at police headquarters. When he arrived, he was arrested. Star apologized on Thursday through his attorney, Benjamin Brafman.
I guess this is good or whatever but I’m not impressed. For one I don’t usually celebrate when anybody gets arrested, unless their like a serial rapist or psycho killer or something. But in this case I just feel like a beatdown would be so much more appropriate. The article says the child endangerment charge is a misdemeanor and I’m not sure where harrasement falls, but this guy has probably already posted bail, if there even was any.

I listened to his show regularly and there was a context to Star’s comments. (I did think his words were a bit much)
He was trying to start some mess with Envy. Basically forcing him into some type of response. Not for one minute did I think he was serious. And, since Envy had no plans of actually taking it to Star; he got his wife to call the police.
The Star and Bucwild show was definetly vile from time to time, but it also had decent intellectual content and was funny as hell.
