Astoria is still really Greek and to be honest there ain’t too many people of color there. but it’s changing. there’s some hip hop clubs off the b’way stop now and when i lived there it was me (indian) and three black roommates and our landlord was pretty open minded. best thing about it besides the commute is its quiet and no crime at all. and being close to the city helps because it is BORING on weekends and u just wanna get the fuck out as quick as possible

billz, anywhere with a path is gonna cost you. to live anywhere nice in jersey city is SERIOUS dough. if not you’ll be living with joe beezy. they have nj transit trains that all go to the port authority and will get you where you got to go. i would check out middlesex and north monmouth county. the towns there are cleaner and not too expensive. morristown where biggs lives is quite expensive also which is why i didn’t mention it.

sour d. – yea morristown is right off of 287 ( which you can take 80 or 280 to get to ) and like i said it depends on where your looking in morristown there are the multi million dollar homes there are the 500,000$ homes and their are there shacks cheap townhouses and even public housing. you can get nice cheap 2 bdrm. townhouse right on the border of morristown and morris plains for around 1400-1500$

D.C. and B’more… only 45 minutes from each other, but two different worlds. I used to hate on D.C. (and somewhat still do) when I was younger during my early college years. But as I’m older I realize they have a better social scene: better clubs, more culturally aware, and definitely finer women. Go-go music still sucks though. I will never fully embrace them though. The Baltimore in me (pause) just won’t allow it.

(i.e. H2O on a Saturday night). But we got a few lounges though. Fridays, you can go to the 13th Floor on Charles St. They play mostly reggae all night but the crowd is usually good. Also on Fridays you can go to Eden’s Lounge (which is one block down from The 13th Floor). Wednesdays used to be a good night to go to Eden’s Lounge, not sure if it still is. They got the GoodLove lounge also on Saturdays, which is on Boston Street in Canton. You can also check out the Red Maple Lounge http://www.930redmaple.com I forget which night they got ish poppin’. Also check out Gordon’s Bar on Maryland Ave. And on a Friday/Saturday night you can just ride through Canton. But, you’re not gonna see any sistas. Honestly, your best bet would be D.C., but the lounges I mentioned in Bmore are decent though.

DJ Star, whose real name is Troi Torain, was contacted by police on Friday and ordered to surrender a 9mm handgun and target practice permit at Police Headquarters. When he arrived, he was arrested and taken to the 1st Precinct in lower Manhattan, said police spokesman Paul Browne.

rumble, explain to me why the absence of the letter j from the Hebrew language would disprove the existence of Jesus. the New Testament (you know, that part of the Bible that talks about Jesus?) wasn’t written in Hebrew. It was originally written in Greek. And yes, I know there isn’t a J in the Greek alphabet either, but the name Jesus is spelled differently in Greek. Thats because in other languages they somtimes spell things differently. for example: ηλίθιος. thats idiot in Greek. and there is this crazy concept called translation. thats where they take one word from one language and interpret its meaning in another language.
and yes, Christian holidays do coincide with pagan holidays. so what? when priests, missionaries, invading kings, etc… came to a new land, they tried to spread the ideas of their faith. they tried to let the people they were trying to convert keep some of their ways and their culture. so Christian holidays were planned around the pagan holidays.
and by the way i’m not condeming or endorsing them for doing this.
And I agree with you that organized religion sucks. Men run osques, churches, temples, etc and men are naturally screwed up and corrupt. People use religion as a political motive for things like war. Christianity didn’t try to take over the world, greedy people, using God as an excuse tried to take over the world. This happens all the way from Constantine to George W. Bush to Osama Bin Laden. Religion is bad, but faith? nah thats all good. just don’t use your faith as a crutch for why you do fucked up things.
Just because a few people are screwed up, doesn’t mean that everyone who agrees with their fundamental beliefs is screwed up too. eg: not every Muslim agrees with the idea of jihad, just like not every Christian believes in W’s war. making generalizations like that is prejudice and ignorant. don’t make generalizations, that’s what all white people do.
and when you want to back up an arguement, don’t use wikipedia as your source. any idiot with an internet connection can contribute to the articles on that site. that doesn’t necessarily make it truth.

I am glad to see that these rapper and others pay the price for what they do and say. It’s about time that they take responsibilty for all their actions. They are so quick to point the finger and yet fail to see that they are causing their own demise. From what I see ,the majority of rap artists hate and are very disrespectful to one another. You don’t see this with the white artists. I would never let my child listen to rap music, it’s full of hate.
