Although they have the legendary Interscope/G-Unit marketing machine working overtime to promote the project, the general consensus among fans I’ve spoken with who have heard the album is that, while it isn’t the worst thing they’ve ever heard, it is certainly not on par with their previous work (especially in the content department). Yesterday Phonte from Little Brother posted an analysis of the album and the Mobb’s new G-Unitized image on the Justus League’s website and I’m inclined to agree with about 98% of his assessment.

Of course the big question, which we should have an answer to in about a week, is how will this album do commercially? My gut feeling says flop, but truthfully it could probably go either way. These guys are clearly looking to attract a younger audience that were probably in kindergarten when Infamous dropped and aren’t familiar enough with the Old Mobb to miss them.

I already know what those of you who leave comments think, but how about everybody else?

There is no way this goes Plat. Mobb does not have any market outside of NY, even with 50’s help. No big single, no real radio play (at least on the West Coast). If the Outta Control remix was the first single I think it would do a lot better.

Its not ground breaking like some of those dudes you mentioned but I do think backstage pass is gone be that Mobb Deep feeling single thats gone push the album……. They always deen talking tuff that aint no shit they just started doing being around 50 and in reference to them not addressen beef well shit who made “LA LA” that wasn’t Jay or The Outlawz and The did trade bars with sensative ass Pac and Jay-Z while Jay-Z was ass lickin “Where we went wrong” I agree it aint shit 50 can do for the Mobb that they can’t do for they self but with that said being a fan of Mobb for almost 10 years its good to see them become stars and its sad to see the haters cry the way they have….. Havoc did the “Aint No Click” beat on Banks album which was a hot beat and that goes back to what we said about them not taking G-Unit beats and just keeping the beats they was giving away…

But haters gone hate!!!

Its a good album with a few good hood part tracks “Backstage Pass” etc. and its worth the price!!!
