Vintage Video: Tupac Freestyling In NYC
It’s been a pretty wild week in the world of hip hop. Gravy gets shot in the ass, Snoop gets locked up in London, Turk is sentenced to 12 years, and Shyne got hit off with some dough. And that was just Thursday! So it kind of makes sense that today would be a bit of a slow news day, because honestly (*looks over his shoulder*) what else can possibly happen?
If you’re a regular visitor to this site then you already know that slow news day = old Tupac video. This is a 60 second clip of Pac in all his glory walking through the streets of New York with a 40 (remember when you used to be able to do that?) spitting a drunken freestyle. I didn’t see it posted before, but on behalf of the random posters (but regular readers) thanks for the link to the Killa movie. Now I can comment on the movie too.
On the real, this movie was NOT that bad, for a first try. Of course there were MANY things wrong with it - to name a few:
1) bad lighting
2) poor script
3) overacting
4) generally poor acting
5) lack of ability to diversify types of “wipes” from one scene to another
6) abrupt end, with no actual conclusion
7) for a bunch of “killas” no one in the movie could actually hold a gun properly; they just did what they thought would look “cool”
8) if you take this script and tweak it (leaving the essential story intact and add an ending), and use different (professional) people to play the roles, you could have a movie that could potentially pull in at least 10-20 million on national distribution - instead of fooling around with “straight to DVD” sales.
