Lupe has real flow in his heart, but i promise he’s a biter. and if anyone can tell me after hit after hit and crazy lyrics from Pharrell (and i’m speaking from day-one fan experience) that lupe’s better can kiss my ass.
Lupe does bring fresh air to hip-hop…but he’s only traveling down the road that Pharrell paved out. Lupe is real shit, but Pharrell is the realest. Lupe’s only the one who got put in the mainstream from the jump. This skateboard thing didn’t just start…it was always there. And you forget who made it okay for the hood to listen to Good Charlotte.

lupe is not tight. it aint because he raps about skateboarding, it’s because his flow is misguided, his delivery is subpar, and his lyrics are simplistic. the dude is straight boring and puts me to sleep. he’s just not very creative, he doesnt have a style that stands out, he sounds like any other backpack rapper. i aint no hater, i dig all styles of rap which is evident by my all-time favorite lists: E-40, Mac Dre, Dead Prez, Kool G Rap, Black Star, Immortal Technique, Eminem, Pac, Jay, Nas, Ras Kass, etc. Lupe’s talking about he wants to recreate nas’s it was written with his debut album. well, he needs a lot of work, and funny thing is it was written is only nas’s 4th best cd.

supa emcee has a point… though i doubt he is… everybody is a rapper, dj’s come a dime a dub… but on the real, there is nothing new under the sun…. rap and skateboarding have been together since their inception…. for real.. two counter/sub-cultures that have been scorned by the ruling class, (thank God, a DYING generation)… both cultures refuse the values of the ruling class, and go even as far as making a public statement in their actions. Rap = says something about it, Skateboarding= does something. I remember when me and my friends were getting picked up for skating on the sidewalk… They said it was a hazard for pedestrians –> but there weren’t any pedestrians!!! If there was, how could we be skating anyways… that was me and my click, 13 years old, bumping NEW Wu-tang in the original Sony WalkMan… yeah, whatchu know about that?
