yea king im with you i never saw pac live of course i was just 16 when he died so i hadnt seen that many concerts at that time anyway, but he is the reason why i dont sleep on trying to see my favorites perform live. ive seen em like 3 or 4 times jay a couple and i had absolutely had to be there in giants stadium for the i declare war/ peace concert and it was fucking crazy but my my favorite live performers go

1) krs – the nergy this man brings on stage is ridiculous seeing him do south bronx was crazy.

2) jay-z not even as much for his live performance skills as for the way the stadium buggs the fuck out when he hits the stage no lie at that last stadium he just came out arms croosed with a lean didnt say one word and the stadium was just chanting yelling and screaming for what seemed like forever.

3) partly for the same reason as jay, partly just cause i like his music so much and i admit a large part has to do with the time i met him at the electric factory in philly before he signed to dre, he was mad cool even after he got booed off stage and was chillen smoking blunts and drinking fresstyling for hours in the parking lot. when he was on stage his mic was fucked up and people were like get this white boy off the stage but once he got started outside he made people leave the actual concert to listen to him go craaaaazy

4) the whole wu-tang, and yes it is a nessecity that its all of them together ive seen all of them ive seen just ghost iseen all of them minus meth all of them minus dirty all minus deck dirty and meth, ive seen just gza ive seen them almost everyway but if they arent all together their energy just aint the same they feed so well off each other.

5) surprisingly jeru – i say surprisingly cause while he is with a doubt one of my favorite rappers i didnt see him being so good live but he proved me wrong twice. he put on 2 crazy shows

I think Pac did the game better than anyone cause you still are questioning whether or not he was a real thug 10 years later..

But break it down, a thug what’s the difference between that and a guy like me? I’ve fought people, kicked ass, got my ass kicked, fired guns (Although not with the intention of killing), sold drugs (although not in large amounts or to people i didnt know) I mean I’m sure I could make a big rap song about it, but I’m just a normal guy.

A guy who wants to be a thug, like 2pac did, for the validation of the males around him that he never felt respect from (see: no father figure, raised by his mother) he created like 50 Cent, a persona for him to be in. And much like most rappers, eventually the persona envelopes the real person.

2Pac was Tupac, and then Tupac became 2pac. You can completely notice a difference in Tupac throughout the times of his life, he used to be creative introverted, real smart cat. He always had that street edge, that good feel to his lyrics like you knew a cat just like him.

But the things I remember about Pac is just being like “wow, this guy is really going after everyone” cause I was a fan of Marl, MC Shan, Nas, Blaq Poet, Mobb Deep, Cormega, Nature, Big Noyd, Tragedy Khadafi, being from queensbridge as a youth and those were the guys that kept me in the frame of mind throughout most of my 20s.

But when 2pac went after Mobb Deep I could see why, Mobb Deep had a professional sound and talked a lot of shit. Nas though it was like why, he almost idolized 2pac and was loosely affiliated with Bad Boy.

But 2pac went crazy, under Suges influence and never sleeping, drinking and doing drugs all the time, and spending all his other time rapping in the studio and perfectifying his persona.

What made him famous is what undid him, his personality. As much as he was the “nigga you love to hate”, some people really took it serious with a passion for their hatred for Pac, numerous people wanted him dead. I don’t believe the theory of Suge killing him, because Pac is worth more alive.

I think it probably was that Baby Lane sucka, Orlando Anderson. With the help of outside sources(wont comment on which ones). But ask Frank Alexander what they saw, or EDI, or Suge.. But even Suge will tell you.. Pacs dead.. and look at his fuckin label, you’re telling me if Pac was still alive Suge wouldn’t have brought his ass back? Ha.. Not saying you guys are debating his death but some interesting points of my own incase you guys get into a talk with some fuck about it.

Thats about all I have to say about 2pac..

I never said Pac was soft, he was far from soft. I said he wasn’t a killer. Yo I have successfully peeped the Mobb album enough I think..

my verdict..

6.5/10.

The only album I’ve listened to where I’ve dreaded the features. My favorite track by far is the “In Love with the Moula” which I can completely relate to, cause I love money more than anything, except myself. The “It’s Alright” Mary J and 50 cent duo with Mobb Deep made me mad cause I used to enjoy Bobby Womack.

I had heard “Have a Party”, “Put em in They Place”, and “Pearly Gates” long before this LP leaked, so no point in commenting on them as many of you have heard them.

Another track that stood out for me was “Speaking So Freely” almost reminded me of a Sabac beat (From Necros group).

I found Prodigy didn’t seem to have any of the wit he used to have and kind of kept it gangster, but Havoc still shines. Overall the album lost out to me for its incorporation of Lloyd Banks (“Stole Something”) and Tony Yayo (“Click Click”) and Young Buck (“Give it to Me”) on sub-par beats and just sounded almost like they were all forced to hang out and get something done, not chemistry or a hiphop stigma attached at all, just a work mentality and it shows.

One thing that would have impressed the hell out of me even though she is a man to me, is hearing Olivia! What the fuck happened to that bitch? Anyways, I’m glad Spider Loc wasn’t on the album (hence the extra 0.5) and I am disappointed that the production had no 1 standout banger other than that In Love with Moula track which to me was just gold.

Anyways love to hear y’all opinions when you cop the shit in a few, that’s all for my review.

Watch some of the 2pac documentary, he was wildin out in oakland yet at the same time being level headed. “Thug life” as he refer to offend isn’t really about being the hardest killer or gangsta, but about being down for your shit and pac was down for his shit. He said what he wanted to say and he did what he wanted to do—basically got caught up.

It’s understandable that cats from NY hate Pac yet at the same time cats in Cali LOVE pac (no homo) and still respect Big. To Live N Die in L.A….damn he spoke the truth on that one and you have to be from LA to really feel that song.

Big Crowds Delay Start Of Proof’s Funeral; Em And Obie Trice Speak

A capacity crowd of about 2,000 people filled Fellowship Chapel on Wednesday to mourn Detroit hip-hop star Proof.

People waited in lines that wrapped around the church to get into the scheduled 11 a.m. service, which started about 45 minutes late to accommodate the crowd’s entry.

The funeral began with the church’s pastor, Rev. Wendell Anthony, reading passages from scripture while family members and close friends paid their last respects in front of the gold-toned casket.

Proof, who was 32, was dressed in athletic wear and Kangol cap. His rap name and birth name, Deshaun D. Holton, were etched at the bottom of the casket in English script. He was surrounded by a huge display of flowers, blankets and other adornments.

Ushers helped several people who were overcome with grief, and some mourners screamed in anguish as the casket was closed.

Among those in attendance were Eminem, 50 Cent, Obie Trice, D12 members Bizarre, Kuniva, Kon Artis and Swift, and Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg.

Mourners were handed a full-color 14-page program, which included numerous testimonials and photos, including a nearly full page shot of Proof with his arm around Eminem. Among the notations: â€œProof was the funniest cat I ever knew in my life,â€ signed by Duane (Legwork).

Sixteen names were listed as pallbearers, mostly family and friends, including Mark Hicks, Proofâ€™s longtime manager. Several others were listed as honorary pallbearers, including Eminem, the members of D12 and Detroit rapper Trick Trick.

People had begun arriving at the church at about 8 a.m. The first two people in line were cousins from Detroit, Ebony Johnson, 18, and Dvonne Johnson, 14.

â€œWeâ€™re here to pay our respects to Proof. He was from Detroit and he was a good rapper,â€ said Ebony Johnson.

â€œEverybody thought he was a good man. He was repping his city,â€ added Dvonne.

Cars were parked all along Outer Drive and nearby side streets. The law enforcement presence was heavy, including members of the Detroit Police Department, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and Michigan State Police.

An antique carriage drawn by white horses was waiting to transport the casket from the church at Southfield and Outer Drive to the burial site, Woodlawn Cemetery on Woodward Avenue near 8 Mile.

Proof died in a gun battle last week in a club on 8 Mile Road in Detroit that was operating illegally after-hours. Authorities say Proof shot 35-year-old Keith Bender Jr. in the head at the C.C.C. Club early on April 11 after a fight. Another man — a relative of Bender — then shot Proof three times in the head and chest. Proof died almost immediately. Bender died Tuesday at St. John Hospital and Medical Center.

Ok well since this tupac thread has turned into a “Mobb Deep album suck/ fuck G-Unit” thread then now its fair game for me to speak on it…..

First half yall niggas don’t even really hate G-Unit or Dislike the album yall just sucking esgay dick so much that whatever your daddy say you go along with which is sad because most of you nerds got the nerve to call yourselves men….. Man I really feel sorry for yall bitches they might as well be dicks fuckin with yall girls….

Now heres my method to judging albums and its an easy method you should try it……I listen to every song on the album and then count every song thats just unlistenable and once, which I can usually know by the second verse then I divide that number by the total number of tracks and then give the album a letter grade…… Now if I can listen to every track and can’t subtract based on my ability to listen to it all the way through then I listen to the album for a second time in an effort to try to attempt to make lyrical deduction, crediting flow allowing it to off set any subjective argument I might have about wether or not I like a punchline or not then I make my decision on wether or not its a hot album or not….

Now in the case of this mobb deep shit… The album has great production and a large variety of beats which keeps it interesting…. They stay on beat, giving them credit for flow……. Finally, lyrically they are nutts IMO they really put that shit together I have bought every Modd Deep album thats ever been released because I buy everybody shit and this Album is by far there most complete effort from top to bottom….. The shit is HOT AND THERE IS REALLY NO OTHER WAY TO PUT IT….. THIS SHIT IS GUTTER FROM TOP TO BOTTOM AND IT HAS VERSATILITY ON IT THATS NOT TO SOFT OR POPPY….. I SEE WHY EVERY SITE THAT HAS HEARD THIS SHIT HAS CALLED IT CLASSIC……. HATE OR NOT AND GREAT SALES OR NOT…………. THIS SHIT CLASSIC!!!!!
